Since the move was said to take much longer than expected, the thread is now an actual RP again.

The horizon is a destiny… not a barrier.

Enôr. A rather small planet, at least in comparison to others in its system, an eighty-five million miles separated from its middle-sized sun, Leitil, and Leitil's silvery gas giant companion, Yeistu. From the planet's surface, these appear as two suns, a contrast of red and blue.

Three larger moons and a ring of smaller stellar objects orbit the planet at a safe distance: one moon is small, orange-coloured, and easily missed, while the two others, a large dark grey and an even larger forested moon, orbit each other, its surfaces unknown in these times.

Which times, the uninformed may ask: well, I shall answer. NËΛJ 58. The third day of the 16th week. The second half of the 243-day long year has begun, and the trees’ leaves colour with shades of gold, silver, blood, and bronze. The age of the Nerhân Kêngship, of the great Empire of the Flame. The 58th year of Nërvûn ΛJ's reign: Greatest Kêng since the Conqueror, Eryne Tîwele, rose to the throne. A time of large battles and fires, a time of swords and song, a time of palaces and princes.

A time where heroes fought on both sides.

And who am I to know these times? I am Amak-Va, Imperial Scribe of Eyda, the Nerhân Capital. I am a Noruej, nigh immortal. I have seen this city grow from a small village to the sprawling metropolis it has become, and have seen its downfall and new rise thereafter.

I play no role in the story about to be told. I am merely a teller, a recorder. A man who talks tales, not a character therein. I am merely here to guide you, the heroes, on your fateful path.

The current Kêng of the Nerhân Empire is in grief and anger: his two sons, Crown Prince Eleyôs and Prince Aigânt, have mysteriously disappeared the day before yesterday: a pamphlet by my hand has been spread throughout the capital of Nerhûn: Eyda.

It is with grief in my heart that I await the band that will possibly sacrifice its life for the Kêng's family. I certainly hope that they bear experience and skill to match the many dangers present wherever the Kêng's offspring may be.

I hope you fare well,
~ Amak-Va, Imperial Scribe

The map (May take a while to load)
Dark green = Forests
Bright green = Marshes
Somewhere in between green = Fields
Brown = Wasteland
Grey = Mountains
Bright grey = Ice and snow
Yellow-Beige = Desert

EYDA (City)
Eyda is a large city, consisting of tall, white, round buildings in the centre, and sprawling wooden slums outside of its dark grey walls. Surrounding those slums are extensive farms and fields, beyond which lies a marsh. The palace is a building high atop a seaside cliff, with one, large, round main tower, and three cone-shaped spires surrounding it.

RACES: Kalur, Merk, Mani

MAP OF EYDA

KAVAR (Landmark)
A tall, rocky spire in the middle of the irradiated desolateness of the Wasteland. On this spire stood Eryne as he stabbed the Herald of Death into the rock and destroyed the Nerhân Republic.

THE WASTELAND (Wasteland around Kavar)
A desolate, foreboding place. Everything recognisable was wiped away by Eryne in his bid for conquest. The radiation of his attack is largely gone, though a radius surrounding Kavar (the red circle) still can make someone feel at unease and unhealthy.

CREATURES: Cauls (mutated beasts, with most of its skin torn off - only has one, large eye, and walks on four legs), Ravves (doglike creatures with a leathery, green/white skin and feelers on their chin), Tchans (large, bipedal, flightless, predatory birds, with large, black feathers)

“Now wait a second, why is most of it white?”
Enôr is a large, mostly uncharted continent, with only a few major landmarks known and sure. It is the job of you, the adventurers, to chart your travels. I will update the map as the RP moves along and visits new regions.

PLAYABLE SPECIES
  • The Mani
Aging Rate: 20 years (Mani) = 10 years (Human)
    Maximum Age: +/- 200 years
Appearance: Red-skinned, pointy eared, flat-nosed, four-thumbed, and of average height.
Originating from the continent of Gieilenôr, the Mani have various tints of red skin, and commonly they have two thumbs on each hand. They have large, pointed ears, large, pig-like noses and blunt teeth. They ordinarily have light hair colours, though darker shades of black and brown are not that uncommon. They grow up to about 6 feet, and if you meet a Mani you can be quite sure he speaks either Menan or Nerhân.
  • The Kalur
Aging Rate: 10 years (Kalur) = 10 years (Human)
    Maximum Age: +/- 70 years
Appearance: Brown-skinned, purple-eyed, sharp-teethed, cat-nailed, tall height. Considered most beautiful of all races.
The Kalur, a (most of the time dark-)brown skinned race home to most Enôrian deserts, are mostly considered the ideal for beauty. Being used to a desert-like environment, they have a skin that absorbs water and that usually doesn't grow much hair. The only hair most Kalur grow is situated around body openings to protect against sand getting stuck there, and on their heads to protect against sunburns on the head.

They are known not to grow wrinkles from old age, due to a skin that is, like their body, extremely flexible and resistant to aridness due to it absorbing water. Kalur usually have grey, black or red hair and purple, slit eyes. They are approximately around seven feet tall, have sharp, vampire-like teeth and claws that, like cats, can 'fold' into their fingers.

Due to the moisture absorbing qualities of their skin - on which Kalur rely - they usually tend to leave as much as possible skin open. This also means they have trouble going to really cold environments: the moisturised skin could freeze.
  • The Merks
Aging Rate: 5 years (Merk) = 10 years (Human)
    Maximum Age: +/- 50 years
Appearance: A species of low height, with light fur and long hairs on their heads, usually hardened into peculiar sculptures. They have tails.
A cat-like race originating in the Nerhân mountains, the Merk grow up to four feet tall and grow tails. Though they have humanoid faces, they are covered in fur of which the hairs can grow up to three feet long. Their hair is usually sculpted into various shapes using a mixture of lime and water. They have claws, though, unlike the Kalur and cats, they cannot fold them into their own fingers.

Their architecture is rather primitive - the Merk were one of the last races to develop sentience, civilisation and intelligence. Their name, Merk, comes from the days when they were not intelligent and still reacted largely on instinct. They used to leave claw marks everywhere, and thus their name, which is Menan for claw. They adopted this name for themselves as soon as they developed sentience.

AVAILABLE MOUNTS
Apart from the Orÿn and the Trihan, Merks cannot use mounts without help.
  • Pards
Reptile beings in use and appearance similar to crocodiles, snakes, dragons, cows; and horses. They are used for riding by military troops mostly because their flexible, snake-like amphibious bodies allow them to traverse well in nearly all environments. They have a scaled skin that can bear many colours, depending on race. The Pard's spit and meat is poisonous, and its milk tastes sour.
    Wealth required: Very rich
  • Leatherbacks
Rhinoceros-like creatures with camel-like backs and lizard-like legs. Surprisingly fast.
    Wealth required: Rich
  • Trihans
Large, gold-feathered flightless birds often used as mounts in the area surrounding Dremor, T'Ahr an Neêm.
    Wealth required: Rich
  • Tegers
Elephant-sized felines with a brushy, brown, camel-like skin texture.
    Wealth required: Rich
  • Orÿn (Only for Merks)
Are often kept as pets to guard things, and they are large, heavy, grey animals. Should I compare them to Earth's animal, you should think of a Rhinoceros' body with bear's legs and an armadillo's head.
    Wealth required: Normal
  • Rothnik
By far the most peculiar animal on Enôr. It is large, translucent, eats rocks, and consumes them into minerals to then reproduce. It is sometimes used as a mount.
    Wealth required: Very rich

The Rules
  • PLEASE SEND YOUR SHEETS TO ME IN A PM FIRST FOR APPROVAL.
  • I am the GM, the DM, or whatever you want to call it. I set up encounters along the way, I make things happen… I control the plot! Feel free to add minor subplots, however.
  • I know I created this world, but criticism is always nice: please, do tell me if something doesn’t make sense!
  • No character controlling except when agreed on beforehand.
  • Romance is allowed, but please, take into account all the people on this forum who surf in a public place and don’t want to be seen reading written pr0n.
  • Please, try to use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.
  • I control all NPCs, unless mentioned otherwise. In combat situations you may take control of an NPC to speed things up, but take into account how skilled he is.
  • And all the other usual rules, blah blah, have fun, etc.

Now, if you just want to do whatever you want and don’t really care much about details, scroll waaaay down to skip all this exposition and start RP-ing (after I approved your sheet, of course). If you do want to read the exposition, only scroll a little bit down to start reading.

The Setting
(For even more exposition, check this link. Please note that it is not fully up to date: I have, for example, removed all magic from my world.)

Enôr is the main planet. Having a day that consists of approximately twenty Earth hours and a year that consists of 243 of such days, with 27 weeks of 9 days. A concept such as months does not exist in most Enôrian cultures.

Enôr has a Martian tilt, which causes seasonal climate change between hemispheres to vary heavily. It has three moons and a ring of debris, of which two moons orbit each other. For more details on the moon, check the first paragraphs of this post. Ymir (a second habitable planet in the Leitilian system, and the origin of the Ymirian “Gods”) and Enôr often near each other so much that Ymir appears as a fourth moon in the sky.

Intelligent Species of the Enôrian Continent
(For playable species, check “The Characters”.)
  • Ken
Aging Rate: 8 years (Ken) = 10 years (Human)
    Maximum Age: +/- 50 years
A bird folk, with many shapes of beaks apparent. Their arms and wings are one, and their feathers range from white to brown to grey.
Originating from the continent of Relenôr, the Ken refer to themselves as Dockx, which means "guiltless" in Ken'y, one of the many languages they speak. The species of Ken that we specifically call Dockx are called Dock by them, which means "guilty", and that species are one of the only members of the race not to have a birdlike appearance.

Ken lay eggs and have feathered arms capable of flying, and have various types of beaks- commonly housing a long and flexible tongue. They have a see-through membrane and a normal eyelid, like some normal birds, and large, black talons on their fingers.

The Dock, on the other hand, are subject to a lot of debate if they should be counted as Ken - they have wings comparable to that of a fly that are not part of their leathery, batlike arms, and they have large, fly-like eyes.

Ken are known to be tall - 8 feet or more - but because they walk half crouched, like birds, they don't seem to be so on first sight.
  • Irks
Aging Rate: 3 years (Irk) = 10 years (Human)
    Maximum Age: +/- 30 years
A race close to extinction, the Irks are found disgusting by most Enôrians - their slimy, scaly skin and short lifespan make it close to impossible for them to develop friendships. Their limbs consist of three bones - their upper arm commonly consists of one bone, and the forearm of two detachable bones - the detached bone can then be slid downwards between the remaining forearm bone and the hand, thus lengthening their arm. The same can be done for their legs, and they can stretch their neck by applying pressure on the cartilage with their strong neck muscles.

Their hair consists of thick, seaweed like growths on their head, which, as has been proven, are edible. Irks are known for alchemy and shamanism.

Due to their short lifespan of approximately thirty years, memories and mental abilities can be passed on genetically, though their have so far not yet been reports that this can also happen to physical or semi-physical abilities, such as talking or walking.
  • Tlong
    Aging Rate: No aging
Maximum Age: No set maximum age
    Appearance: Depends on base species
Tlong, technically not a separate race, are genetically mutated cyborg versions of existing races crafted by Zastôhda. Their appearance varies too much from Tlong to Tlong to describe here.
  • Orpakerke/Orpacurce (Spelling varies)
Aging Rate: 10 years (Orpacurce) = 10 years (Human)
    Maximum Age: +/- 50 years
    Appearance: Quadripedal, intelligent sabre-toothed tigers
The sabre-toothed feline sentients of the Shaman Realms.

Nations of the Enôrian Continent (on map)
  • Nerhûn
Full name: The Sacred Nerhân Empire of the Flame
    Motto: “By Swallow’s Swords!”
    Capital: Eyda (see above)
    Other Major Cities: Gilgon
Gilgon, capital city of the Lesser Kingdom of Morgon, is built in a southern valley of the Rindronas, on terraces carved into the mountainsides. A huge wall, partially cut out of an ancient cliffface and partly built by ancient engineering, forms the border between the Aligra county west of the city. The city is guarded by Gonarc, a tower hidden by magic, that is located a few miles south of the city. The city is one of the first cities ever to be built, so many million years ago when the seas were so high that mountain ranges were normal land and high hills were islands.
Gilgon is built next to a lake inside the valley, of which a river flows through the wall south-east, towards the sea. In the lake, on two rocky spires, stand the most impressive architectural feats of the city: a huge arena built out of white marble, and an even larger stronghold, of which a tower protrudes. The Tower is said to hold the stone of Sar'ng-Leitu ("Snake-Sun"), part of the legendary Herald of Death, which is said to control the weather and shine a noonday sun across the land when dawn has just begun.
The city suffers occasional heavy earthquakes, so it's a surprise that the tower never collapsed. The earthquakes are caused by the city being located on the Rindronas, a tectonically very hostile region.

    Hugher
Hugher, capital city of the Lesser Kingdom of Forodwod, is a rather unimpressive yet awe-inspiring sight: the whole city seems to be one big slum. Forodow itself, however, is a forest that gives more of an impression of a park, with wide, relatively even spaces between trees. Forodwod is surrounded by a great stone wall with few gates. Hugher itself is surrounded by a wooden wall, and the tower of the current King of Hugher looms over the city like thunderclouds over a green pasture.

    Dremor
Dremor, capital city of the Lesser Kingdom of Rinwod, is built around a circle of thirteen hills called the ‘Grey Hills’. Most of its houses are carved out of the hillsides, so even the poorest citizen tends to have a stone house. It is more of a religious than a political bastion, with the Stonewood Temple in the middle of the circle of hills.

    Kon
Kon, capital city of the Lesser Kingdom of Gondrind, is a city of the Merk. It is located under the many mountains of the Gondrind Chain.
    Official Languages: Menan
    Demonym: Nerhân
Racial spread: Mani, with a lot of Kalur immigrants and a concentration of Merks in the Gondrind area.
Geographical description: Mostly marshes and forests, with hilly and mountainous areas to the south-west.
Brief history: Originally, Nerhûn was part of the Cendôrian empire, but the first president of Nerhûn - back when it was a republic - declared independence and forged an alliance with the four other kingdoms of the region. It was governed by a female president and female ministers, voted for by women only. There was, however, a male president of war, who was given power over all military troops during times of war.
Then, Eryne Tîwele, a prince from Foghain, attacked the Republic and, with stolen power of the gods, made time pass in the region as if seconds were millenia- everything crumbled to dust, and Erÿne rebuilt the Republic anew as a Kêngship under his reign.
Political traditions: The head of state is the Kêng, an inherited position currently under the Tîwele dynasty.
There is also a democratically voted for Council of Imperial Advisors, and like in the Nerhân Republic, only women may vote, though men may also be voted for. The council is headed by His Wisdom the Imperial Chancellor, who is the Kêng’s main advisor.
Another important, non-elected, non-inherited, solely held by Noruej position is that of Imperial Scribe.
Political situation: The current Kêng is Nërvûn Tîwele ΛJ, a Mani
The current Chancellor is Pon, a Merk.
The current Scribe is Amak-Va, a Noruej.
Main currency: The Beak; there are copper, bronze, silver, and golden beaks. The currency is called a Beak due to the Swallow being the country's symbol, aside from the Stonetree and the Silver Star.
Religious traditions: An Ymirian pantheon consisting of six main Gods:
Aenoria, the Mother Goddess of all that is good of women. She takes the form of a beautiful old and naked woman, for virtue knows no shame. She is commonly associated with the stars.

Dominâncali, the God of Wisdom and of all that is good of men. He is associated with libraries and thunder.

Zeruê, the War Goddess of all that is women's evil. She is one of the only Ymirian guards to actively meddle with mortals. She takes the shape of a seductively beautiful Kalur, with only her pet snake covering up the lust of men.

Eadrâhk, the Snake God of all that is men's evil, takes the form of a skeleton of nightmares, with a charred skull for a head and fiery tentacles as arms. He is naked, and his lid takes the form of a curling snake.

Adaïl, the God of Light and the Order of things, takes the form of a grey-skinned humanoid with large, green eyes. He is also associated with wind, and wherever if he walks, if he walks- for he slumbers- a cold wind can be felt.

And Zastôhda, the Sixth God That Was First, the Banished One, the Creator of Earth, and the Bringer of Chaos. He was the one that forged the earth out of the earth in the first eternity, but he was banished for his jealousy.
Social situation: A very small gap and a fluent transition between rich and poor. Nerhûn has a very modern and well-working social system, and the ‘slums’ of their cities are, unlike most other slums, not utterly disease and crime-ridden.
Military traditions: The army has a large array of specialised classes:
    The Order of the Fang
Serving as Royal Guards in time of peace and Hraek Riders (the Hraek is a dragon-like reptile) in time of war, the Order of the Fang have a tradition dating back to Eryne Tîwele’s father, Roldîn Tîwele. Their uniform consists of a red band on their right arm, and black leather armour, with over it a white, poncho-like cape. Their face is covered and they usually carry large halberds.

    Firespewers
These experienced warriors are like human flamethrowers: there sufficiently protected finger and/or toe is lit with a fire, and then, through co-ordinated movements and a reservoir on their back, highly flammable gas or liquid – similar to Greek fire - is sprayed over the finger or toe, creating a fiery blast.

    Drummers
These soldiers carry two large drums before them, and use the two clubs they use for banging the drums in combat as well.

    Hornblowers
These soldiers carry a large variety of horns, and each horn sounds significantly different: these are used to give simple commands.
  • Cendôr
Motto: Gihegaem Rup. (“Through strength of mind.”)
Capital: Losdaeh, often described as the Glass City, as everything seems to be made of glass that can become clear or blurred or any colour depending on the minds of those near it.
Other Major Cities: Aeggrud, Iryb, Obba
    Official Languages: Nerhân
    Demonym: Cendôrian
Racial spread: A majority of Mani. Finding another race here is reeeeeaaaaally difficult.
Geographical description: Mostly covered with jungle and rainforest in the south and wetlands in the north, its inhabitants have adapted to the wet environment, wearing clothes made out of fish-skins to protect against the common rains.
Brief history: Where Losdaeh now is, was once a large city of the Ymirian guards- a magnificent wonder of light and metal, of stone and magic it was. Everything moved by itself, and the gods created golems to serve their needs. But the rebellious group of Mani that formed Cendôr did not approve of this self-indulgence of the gods, and they conquered the city which is now their capital. In destroying the gods, they thought that they were now gods, and thus their religion.
Political traditions: Plutocratic Dictatorship, governed by an ‘Emperor’. Each time an Emperor dies, it is checked who has paid the most taxes (taxes, in Cendôr, are optional gifts to the government which are rewarded with political power) during the last Emperor's reign, and that person is crowned Emperor. This process can take up to twenty years.
Political situation: There is no current Emperor, as the Cendôrian Empire has been occupied by Nerhûn.
Main currency: Nergat, roughly translated meaning ‘Precious Green Stone’. Their coins are crafted out of jade, which is widespread in the mountain ranges of Cendôr. They also accept currencies from all countries with which they are at peace.
Religious traditions: Autotheism (Neologism from ‘Auto’, meaning self, and ‘Theios’, meaning god.), which means essentially “self-worship”. Since that is the tradition Cendôr has thrived on for many years, its customs and traditions teaches its followers that there is no almighty power that controls the universe except yourself. This is different from atheism, whereas the latter claims there is no all-powerful being controlling the universe, autotheism claims that its followers are the all-powerful beings that control the universe through their actions.
Social situation: A gap between rich and poor way larger than in Nerhûn: there are rich people, the one who collaborate with the Nerhân forces, and then there is the rest.
Military traditions: Military abandoned because of Nerhân occupation.
Shaman Realms: Though the Shamanistic tribes of the Realms are spread across the Southern regions of the Enôrian continent, the Shaman Realms (south-west of Cendôr) are commonly called so because not only does the location have the largest concentration of tribes, the land is also not yet officially claimed by a nation, and thus is no official nation, though no-one has so far attempted to claim the land. In the north of the country, there are endless, grassy steppes, which gradually changed from rainforest in the north and gradually change into a rocky canyon desert in the south.
  • Relenôr
Not in fact one nation but four separate monarchies: Karami, Wanai, Eroria and Erasu. Not much information, as you are not meant to venture there… yet.
Major Cities: Ero, Erasu, Kehire, Nere
    Official Languages: Keni
    Demonym: Relenôrian
Racial spread: Ken, and Ken only!
Geographical description: Icy islands in the north, and grassy fields cross-sectioned by silvery mountains in the south.
  • Frodead
Motto: ¡Arapo eugnas eo oruo! (“For blood and gold!”)
    Capital: T’Ahr
    Other Major Cities: Aligra, Dahrr-Ni
Official Languages: Northeadan in lower classes, Southeadan in upper classes
    Demonym: Frodean
Racial spread: Kalur, and again an absence of other races similar to Cendôr.
Geographical description: In the south it is largely covered with rocky deserts, whereas in the north a dry, steppe-like environment is generated by the Rindronas’ precipitation shadow. Various tints of brown and yellow can be seen throughout its culture, representatives of sand and sun.
Brief history: Split from the Eadenôrian Kingdom somewhere during the reign of the seventeenth Honourable Raven of the Desert, it took quite a few decades for Frodeadean independence to be accepted. The most major conflict seen after their independence was declared was one with Nerhân Kêng Tibêr J, who believed the trade city of Dremor belonged to them. The Nerhân forces won and built the Dremor Wall around Dremor.
Political traditions: Monarchy, governed by a “Crow”. Their current Crow is, as is the tradition, nameless, as one who rules a country rises above mundane things like names. The lower ruling classes are clans, who normally run over counties. For example, Clan Aren is the ancient ruler of Aligra, and Clan Kalur'reowrrh has held the position of ruling clan in Dahrr-Ni since the county was formed.
Main currency: Sexief (‘Beams’). There are two types: golden coins, referred to as Sexief Losod (‘Sun Beams’), and silver coins, referred to as Sexief Aulad (‘Moon Beams’)
Religious traditions: Polytheistic Pantheism – they worship spirits that are parts of nature, and no gods that represent abstract concepts such as war or love, though they in recent years have accepted more abstract spirits such as Onichri, the spirit of the hunt in their pantheon. Some more well-known spirits are Topah, spirit of sand and Ôira, spirit of water. They do not believe in Ymirian sects because, in their opinion, a real god has no business materialising before mortal beings.
Social situation: Though poor people still live comfortably, rich and poor are kept separate in Frodean cities, and moral values differ greatly between both.
Military traditions: No special military eccentricities to mention.
  • Eadenôr
Motto: Rop ol Yer’y le Yer serbmoh (“For the King and the King’s men!”)
    Capital: Odinovroc, the Raven’s Nest
    Official Languages: Southeadan
    Demonym: Eadenôrian
Racial spread: Mainly Kalur, with Merks coming in second
Geographical description: Wide open sandy plains with Colorado-plateau-like cliffs. There are also a group of very large stone eroded sculptures to the north, which are said to be giants.
Brief history: An old enemy of the Cendôrian Empire, both have existed as long as they both can remember. Eadenôr was declared independent when the first tribes of the Eadenôrian deserts settled down and formed cities.
Political traditions: Monarchy, ruled by a nameless “Raven”. It is said that the Frodean monarch is called Crow simply to dishonour Eadenôr. The lower ruling organs are clans, and each clan normally rules over a county.
Political situation: The current Raven is the hundredth one, who has taken the throne just three years ago.
Main currency: Sexief, like Frodead. They accept each other’s coins, which are slightly different.
Religious traditions: Largely the same, though the most commonly worshipped spirit here is Adahr, a cult that has not only the most followers in Eadenôr, but which also takes care of fighting crime and law enforcement. Most famous Kalur bounty hunters are Adahrian cultists. Adahrian Fire Monks are freelancing mercenaries and bounty hunters, doing things - officially, at least - out of a religious duty to rid the world of evil doers.
Social situation: Like Nerhûn, but with a bit larger gap between rich and poor.
    Military traditions: Like Frodead.

That, and give a little more information about your world as well. You know? It's unlikely someone will join if they have no idea what's going on.

I've already updated the thread with the new thread, backed up in a word-document on my PC... I've decided to put most of the exposition at the bottom of the post, so that people not interested can skip it easierly.

And I updated the logo. For the rest, thanks for wanting to help, but I think I'll fare myself. Though, if you have any suggestions from yourself, feel free to inform me :D

OOC: A thousand apologies for posting this here, but for some reason I can't get PM's to work. It just seems to get stuck at the preview screen. Please let me know if anything needs changing and I will modify/nuke the character if required.

===============

I looked at your post about the possible RP within Enor previously and was rather daunted by the complexity and unfamiliarity of the world. However, I see that you have now decided to go ahead and run it as an RP so I thought I'd give it a go.

But it is very difficult to create, name and outfit a character when you have no familiarity with the world, its races, its lore etc... So, here's my attempt at a Kalur character. Obviously it may need some (lots of?) work to fit better with your world.

By the way, maybe it would help others join if you gave some example (or NPC) character sheets - several from each race. This might give people a clue as to what they can do. Just a thought.

Anyway, here 'tis.

===========

Name: D'sseneramrrearr'l First Daughter of Clan Kalur'reowrrh
Short name: D'ssen
Species: Kalur
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Class: Stalker

Class Description: A fighter that relies mainly on stealth and ranged weapons.

Main Skills: Ranged weapons, Stealth, Claw-to-claw fighting.

Appearance: Tall (a little over 7 feet), lithe and strong. Skin colour is deep golden brown, eyes are dark bluish-purple with gold flecks, hair is black.

Weapons: A custom-made crossbow mounted with a cartridge allowing multiple bolts to be loaded and shot with rapid fire, a satchel of pre-loaded bolt cartridges

Armour/Clothing: Unarmoured. Since clothing interferes with the skin’s ability to absorb moisture, personal modesty has little place among the Kalur. However, in consideration of the mores of other races, she wears a soft vest and short tunic made of a light, breathable silk-like fabric. Her outfit is beautifully made, in colours of purple and gold.

Inventory: a satchel of pre-loaded bolt cartridges, tools for making bolts, various personal items, money

Mount: A Pard with reddish-gold coloured scales.

Background: As clan First Daughter, now that she has come of age, D'ssen is required to prove her worth as future leader by undertaking a dangerous quest or challenge. Hearing of the disappearance of the Nerhân Kêng’s sons, her mother has instructed her to present herself as part of the band seeking to find them. This is also an opportunity for her to learn more of other races and to improve her diplomatic skills.

Personality: Self-assured but not arrogant. Clan leadership is considered a duty not a privilege, and D’ssen has been raised to be honourable and courteous.

Lifestyle: Wealthy

Motivation: see background

Though the name is... well... odd :D , it's quite a good character, actually.

And a big plus is the fact that you guessed cultural habits - something I recommend to other people who join. It makes me remember other things to put in the main thread.

And here's my own character.

Name: Sina Ti
Species: Kalur
Gender: Female
Age: 33
Class: Adahrian Monk
Class description: Adahrian Fire Monks were freelancing mercenaries and bounty hunters, doing things - officially, at least - out of a religious duty to rid the world of evil doers. They used techniques similar to the Nerhân firespewers.
Main skills: Short blade, Adahrian Wardance, firespewing, speechcraft, cartography
Appearance: Short and thin, with very short dark hair and a pale, beige skin, with only one eye. She does not bother to cover up the remaining empty eye socket.
Equipment: Firespewing equipment, Adahrian Monk Garb (metal bracers (with small holes), and a breathing armless red/gold robe)
Mount, if any: A Trihan named Aay
Background: Born in Eadenôr, Sina migrated to Eyda soon after her birth. She is far more familiar with Nerhân culture than the culture of her own race, and has only left the Eydan province on rare occasions, despite her occupation. She has however studied (and stolen) many Enôrian maps.
Personality: A kleptomaniac, and ruthless. Does not, repeat, not like being proved wrong.
Lifestyle: Nothing too luxurious, but with the funding from the Adahrian Temple she receives, there certainly is an amount of decadence in her lifestyle.
Motivation: The money.
E Dae'val.

Name: Optius Valez
Species: Mani
Gender: Male
Age: 60
Main skills: Swordfights
Appearance: Pointy ears, red skin, like all Mani, though he's rather tall and well built. He's not very muscular, except for his trained arms. He has attractive, deep brown eyes, which stand in great contrast with his horribly scarred and asymmetrical face.
Equipment: A long silver sword and old, beaten chainmail armour. His helmet covers his face.
Mount: None
Background: Optius was born to a regular Nerhân family, yet at a young age he was introduced into life as a mercenary as his dad was one and trained him how to use a sword and shield. One day, his dad left for a mission far away but he never returned home. His mum raised him alone, but also kept on teaching him how to defend himself until his 39 birthday he went out to discover the world, and shortly thereafter became a lonely mercenary.
Personality: He's a noble yet fierce, he wouldn't think twice before killing a thief or any evil person and tries to help the less fortunate, as long as there's something in it for him. He loves to gamble and drink but can't stand losing. Becomes violent very easily.
Lifestyle: Just enough to survive.
Motivation: Money.

ZE RP IS OPENED.

You can all start role-playing now. However, it is not yet the end of the week (e.g. the start of the actual story, the meeting at the Eydan Palace). You can all RP yourselves just doing stuff, character establishing, etc... in Eyda, while we wait for more people to join up. If not enough people have joined by February 1st or something, we'll just go with a few NPCs.

D'ssen wrinkled her nose slightly at the unpleasant odours as she rode through the slums that huddled around the walls of Eyda. Ahead she could see the gleaming white buildings of the city proper - a stark contrast to the dirty and dreary wooden shacks she rode past. And high on the cliff face, the palace outshone everything else. Its round main tower and trio of cone-shaped spires stood out against the clear blue sky.

The journey had passed quickly, and there were still several days before the meeting at the palace would take place. D'ssen gently spurred her mount to a faster pace, keen to be away from the slums. Her first desire was to find an inn where she could rest and wash. She decided to head towards the palace and find an inn nearby. It seemed likely that the highest quality establishments would be located there.

OOC: I've added a (crude) map of Eyda: here.

Location: Eyda, Inner City

IC: "I hate these stairs!" shouted Sina after climbing yet another case of them. The Inner City was separated and built on a slope, divided by terraces, and each time you wanted to reach a higher level you had to climb stairs. Only the main roads were sloped to allow carts to pass through. Sina was trying to reach the public bath to wash - she had tried washing herself in the sea, but the salty water wasn't healthy for her skin.

OOC; I haven't rp'ed in months so please don't expect that much right now.

IC: Optius Valez scratched his brown hair while he looked around, where could he get some ale? He had been looking forward to this moment for weeks and now he couldn't find any. He sighed while he walked deeper into town still looking everywhere for a nice bar where he could use his well earned coins. His last job had been a difficult one, clearing out a shelter full of rats, nasty little creatures.

Finaly his gaze found a wooden house with a sign saying: 'Dren's bar.' A smile appeared on Optius' face and he entered the place. It was nasty looking and except for some drunks, there weren't many people around which didn't bother Optius at all.
"A pint of ale please." He ordered. The barkeeper looked at him and frowned before getting a bottle of ale from behind his dusky bar. "Is that the best you have?" Optius asked while he lay down some coins on the bar and took a sip of the pint. "Not bad though."

OOC: *smack* 1. Isn't cleaning a shelter full of rats a little below a mercenary? It's like alerting the army when someone stole your car. 2. This is relatively minor, but Eyda ain't no town. It's a metropolis! 3. Coins? COINS? Where do you think we are?! Fantasyland? YE BE MEANING BEAKS! 4. Ye be only finding wooden houses in the slums, and they not be deeper into town. 5. Dren? Do ye think we be havin' bloody Dunmer 'ere? 6. Dusky bar? What, is the sun settin' behind it?

(Just me loving to complain. 1 is similar to the cave of creatures on your first draft sheets, 2 and 3 are really minor... just stylistic preference. 4... This is even more minor. Just a reminder that all houses in the Inner City are made out of stone. 5. Seriously? I let Optius (Bloody Imperials!) slip, but Dren? That's right out of a TES game! 6 is just me thinking it to be a strange choice of words.)

(No offence meant, okay? As I said, just some minor details... Just try not to rip-off TES any more :P)

Location: Eyda, Inner City

IC: Almost at her destination, Sina turned around. The view was magnificent, certainly from this high. The white houses reflected the light of the setting sun, and the dark green Merkwod stretched out to the horizon. "Nice view, aye?" Sina sighed as the blue-haired man approached her. "Please, not you again..." "It's a bit odd, isn't it?" continued the man, crossing his arms and enjoying the vista next to Sina. "How you keep failing to avoid me... I would have expected better from a Fire Monk. Or is it like fire itself... leaving a trail of smoke?" "Look, I told you to leave me alone."

The Mani had been bothering Sina for the last few days. He had been stalking her, though only at day. "Why are you even following me?"
"A matter of security, simply, as I told you."
"Yes, you told me that... I want details."
"I'm not at liberty to-"
"Just go away."
"But I-"
"GUARDS! HELP! I'M B-"
"Alright, I'll leave. Just... just stay quiet."
The man hurried away, and just as he left down the stairs, two green-robed Eydan guards arrived. "What is the problem, miss?" "Nothing. I've handled it myself."

OOC: Seriously, no hard feelings, aye?
E Dae'val.
