Yes the Paint Guar Quest right? It must be over at the Library. I remember copy/pasting it there.

Thanks for remembering me, James.

I had a question: I was about to resubmit my quest after reformatting it (yep, finally got around to it) but it has pop-up messages that appear and there wasn't anything in the directions about those. Last time I used *s to denote them, but I just wanted to double-check before I reposted and it got rejected for me not following format.

No, I mean my quest makes use of pop-up messages in the game. Like when you do a specific action, the little box pops up "You have just found the Antlers of Dead King Wolfdeer!" "OK"

I suppose I could take them out altogether if they would be too much hassle, Ibis.

Oh? I think that sounds fascinating. Sounds like a good idea to me. If you have it scripted to do this function; I think it is a good addition to the game.

I don't know the script commands off hand, but I don't think they're hard to do. You see a lot of pop-ups in the MW character generation sequence. You could probably modify one of those to use.

I like to use pop-ups because they give a confirmation that you did something right or wrong, or can be used to give the player a hint what to do next, like I do in my quest to alert the player that they need an empty bottle in order to milk the paint guar.

This is admittedly a cosmetic feature, and not really necessary when you can just make the guar an activator that puts the milk in your inventory. I thought it helped with the illusion by swapping an empty bottle for a filled one, but I'm not going to demand that it be an included feature.

I like this pop up feature. I think that we should keep it in the quest and implement it. I'm sure lettuceman can probably script a popup message. Come to think of it, I have used the popup message when making a riddle chest once; so you are right it is an easy function to include.

Let's definitely keep it. It does add to the immersion to have to bring along an empty bottle to milk the paint guar. Adds to the realism.

Woo-hoo! My quest is approved! Now that I'm more familiar with the format, I'll start on my armor quest now.

I'll try to get some art to Ibis this week(end) as well so she can begin on my NPCs.
