SVR: Faith

“Over 60 years ago. It was proven that the bible was false and that science was correct in all ways. At some point in the history, a madman became the leader of the scientists around the world and plotted seeds of conspiracy, saying that The Vatican were planning a gruesome attack upon the Megacity known as Futropolis. He forced the scientists to create the greatest weaponry known to man, and that they did. Within 2 days, The Vatican City had been obliterated and within a few months, most religious people were killed in a bloody battle. However a few survived and created the resistance within Futropolis, recruiting followers into their ranks. Now the time has come to save Earth from a madman.”

Welcome to the city of Futropolis, I’m sure that your years here will be splendid. Now as an assistant to the Ventruvian Council, I’m going to have to ask your name and class. Please use this guide to help decide what class you are. Have a Nice Day!

Guide to Futropolis.

Letter from the administrator

Dear Citizen
It has been such that you have either lost your ID card or you are new to Futropolis. It would be great to the Ventruvian Council if you were to fill in this little information sheet in order to reinstate or create your ID Card. Please remember to fill in your current job and a little background about yourself.
Have a nice day at the Futropolis major airport

With Regards
Administrator of Futropolis needs.

Classes:

Seeker: These are the assassins of the Religious Rebellion. They tend not to use weapons and rather to use their Blessed Blades of the Vatican.

Soldier: The main class of the Ventruvian Army. Most are equipped with a SAR-57 and a GF-087Y Grenade Launcher.

Engineer: Able to repair vehicles and are adept in using power tools as weapons.

Rebel: Rebels are religious followers that are fighting for what they believe in. They mostly use MP-5’s and a Tactical 12-Gauge

Injector: Mad scientists that use certain modifications to enhance some things at the cost of others. They mostly use Needles and Syringes with poison or venom.

Brute: Brutes are big strong folk that are mostly wrestlers and Boxers. They mostly use their own two hands instead of guns or knives.

Guns and Swords:

SAR-57: Scientific Assault Rifle. These guns have two settings, shotgun mode and rapid fire. Both are extremely powerful. The gun is very reminiscent to the P-90 Machine Gun.

GF-087Y: A compact grenade launcher that fires 5 different types of grenades in one single grenade. Very powerful if used properly. The grenade types are Fragmentation, flame, Knockout, flash bang and Tear gas.

Blessed Blade of the Vatican: Used by the seekers, these short blades are made for being held along the arm. It is mostly held with the blade behind the seeker for easier to grab motion from the sheathe near the bottom of the back. It is an arms length blade that can cut through any armour.

RL5-TYR: A Rocket launcher that shoots 5 Rockets at once, a great enhancement in scientific technology, but the thing is bulky and takes time to reload.

MP-5: An old gun that was once a great part of military forces, now it is a normal machine-gun that fires faster then a SAR-57 but is not as powerful.

Tactical 12-gauge: The tactical 12-Gauge is a pump action shotgun. Quite powerful close range and more powerful then the SAR-57 shotgun mode.

Bazooka: A rocket launcher that shoots one rocket instead of 5. Rockets have bigger explosions but are much heavier then the RL5-TYR.

GHY-SR: A Sniper Rifle that shoots a powered pulse from the barrel can be used from 250 metres away; however it requires the Sniper eye patch.

Snoop-50: The Snoop-50 is a silenced sniper rifle that shoots a bullet. Can only shoot from 150 metres away but does not make as much noise as the GHY-SR.

Syringe: Syringes come with all sorts of poisons and viruses for someone to watch their prey squirm when death is upon them. The black market is rumoured to sell these.

WARNING!

It has come to the attention of the Ventruvian Council that some monsters have found a way into Futropolis. Here is a short segment about what they look like and what they can do. If you do see one, stay as far away from it as you can.

Haggit: A purple flying inject that is about 30cm wide and 40 cm tall. Have large red stinger that injects radioactive waste into bodily systems.
Threat level: High

Derft: a dog with two heads that is mostly peaceful when unprovoked. If you take them out in one shot you will be safe.
Threat level (Unprovoked): None.
Threat level (Provoked): Extreme

Frealg: A creature that is made of mud and can move from mud pile to mud pile. They do little damage.
Threat level: Low

Ragnarok: A massive creature made completely of fire and nuclear waste. When they are destroyed, they emit a nuclear explosion.
Threat Level: Very Very Extreme

Healg: A humanoid figure with 6 eyes and screwdrivers instead of fingers. They stay in dark places because the light burns their white skin.
Threat level: High

Undusai: An arachnid species about the size of a 10 year old that can walk through solid matter. Bullets have no effect against them unless they are shot in the eye.
Threat level: Extreme

Gyruk: Pack creatures that are about the size of a normal human. They have no protective skin and they tend to wander of on their own, making them not very threatening
Threat level: Low

Please report all sightings to a Guard for your own safety.

Letter from the Vatican Rebellion

To the person that is concerned.

We need you! The Vatican have been almost destroyed by science, many of us believe that soon they will find us and destroy all of us. Only you are able to defeat the madman leading all of us to war.

When you receive this, you should be at the airport. We need you to head down to the freshman; it’s a little pub a few blocks to the right of the airport. When you are in there, ask for Benedict and they will show you through a back alley, follow it and you will find us. Good Luck!

Age: 25
Class: Seeker

Appearance: 7"2', Handsome features, hazel eyes, long black hair that reaches back of neck, Black Hood and Black clothes, wears a trenchcoat over body.

After killing all of them, he was cast out of the vatican for killing with no orders.

Jericho was alone and during this period of time, he started to grow dilemmias of a higher being telling him to do certain things. He killed many people, Religous and Scientific alike, and he grew to the stage where he loved killing so much that the voices didn't mean nothing anymore, He had become a monster.

Looks interesting Slink. I'll see what I can think of for a character. I'm thinking either an utterly ruthless Resistance assassin or a cyborg mechanic character.

Decisions decisions...

And I made my decision, and here's my character.

Name: EWD 4830 (Experimental Workforce Device), or just Edward to those who have known him

Age: 81

Class: Engineer

Weapon: Two Servo arms, one with drill attachment and one with saw attachment (robotic arms implanted into EWD 4830's back, allows him to lift great weights and also doubles as a dangerous close combat weapon), bionic arm with detachable laser cutter, heavy wrench

Appearance: Emaciated and skeletally thin with various bionic implants replacing any 'non-essential' organs. His left arm is replaced with a robotic one, as well as his right leg. Part of his brain has been meshed with computers, giving his skull a boxy and angular appearance, and one of his eyes has been replaced with a bionic one. He wears a large, thick brown coat to hide most obvious of the bionics and a wide brimmed hat to hide his face when it is necessary to go into the public domain.

Karma: Neutral-what choice is right, but the most logical one?

Mental state: EWD 4830 is...logical. He is mechanically dispassionate and will follow whatever course he deems most beneficial to both him and his allies.

Background: The factory district of Futropolis has often, and aptly, been described as hell on Earth. Massive foundries, the size of city blocks, pump pollutants and gases into the air as they churn out the items needed by the citizens of Futropolis, manned by countless workers who are, in reality, just slaves to the whims of their tyrannical overseers. If they dare to complain, or even just resent their masters, the punishment is a painful death. Some will be dunked in liquid, boiling plastic, others will have industrial strength bleach poured over them, others are thrown into furnaces to burnt alive. The punishments vary from factory to factory, each one more inventive and brutal than the last.

EWD 4830 was born from these factories.

He was the result of EWI, the Experimental Worker Initiative. The EWI was designed to create a completely lobotomised, mechanical workforce that could work for twenty four hours every day without the need for food or rest. Made from corpses of dead workers, or ones simply taken discretely from morgues and graveyards, they were 'resurrected' by the implantation of robotic parts in an attempt to make the perfect labourer.

But something went wrong, as one by one the five thousand EWDs went mad.

It still unknown what exactly happened to them, but it is thought that many attempted to regain their memories. The trauma of experiencing dying from the memories was too much for many of them and they flew into berserk rages, attacking anything and everything they could before being destroyed by security guards or their fellow workers. Eventually, after just a year of operation, the project was deemed too dangerous and was abandoned in favour of a human workforce.

The EWDs were placed in storage to await destruction, but some, like EWD 4830, realised the danger and escaped, self-preservation protocol overriding any orders formerly given to them. He has now wandered Futropolis for eighty years, attempting to discover who he once was. Along the way, he realised he was a virtual outlaw and so gained access to the ranks of Vatican Rebellion for some measure of protection. Of course, the deal was a two sided one, and so EWD 4830 has carried out orders for the Rebellion for nearly eighty years. His only pay is information and while this comes slowly, EWD remains sure that one day he will find out who he once was.

Only then will he have truly escaped.

Name: Querlos
Age: 32
Class: Seeker
Weapon: Rather than a Blessed Blade of the Vatican, he possesses a single small dagger.
Appearance: 6"3 in height, green eyes, black hair graying out in some places, light colored skin, slight muscles but otherwise quite thin. It is uncommon to see him with a happy face.
Karma: Neutral
Mental state: Is calm about situations, but is almost realistic about things to a fault. He loves kids, but hates those who are set in their ideals, those who don't question their lives and thoughts.

Background: Querlos was originally Chris Merrill, raised by the odd family of an atheistic father and a Catholic mother. This was one of many events, including his friends he would meet in schools and his own thoughts on things, that would influence his mindset in the future.

When the Scientific community was lead in a destruction of the religious, his mother and father were both killed; his mother died because of her faith, and his father died trying to protect the two of them. Chris barely escaped the slaughter, and was found and adopted by some members of the Vatican in hiding. When asked his name, he responded with Querlos.

After several years, seeing the attacks and brutalities committed on the religious forces of the Vatican, Querlos became a Seeker, not out of any obedience to the Vatican, but rather, to work towards carrying out his mindset of things: that both sides had the wrong mindset and ideas, but that they both had the right to believe what they wished, right or wrong.

He works with the Vatican in the hope of ending the oppression, but would just as easily switch over to the side of the scientists if the reverse came true.

He is secretly an atheist, and does not believe in God. However, on Ash Wednesday every year, he secretly wears the sign of the cross in ashes on his chest.

I figured i would post a little bit more info about Futropolis. Here we go:

Now that you have signed your ID Card, please read this introduction to Futropolis.

Futropolis

Futropolis is the biggest of all the Megacities around earth. It has about 6 different quadrants, each with about 2 miles of city streets and buildings. The whole of Futropolis is shaped like a flower with 5 petals in memory of Daisy richards, lead scientist on Futropolis construction.

The Factory District is the main supply of food and work around Futropolis, inquire there if you are after hard work.

The Residential District is home for over 2 billion people. There are rows of houses and many different supermarkets in order to feed your children.

Entertainment District is for those that feel abit bored and want to find ways to entertain themsleves, Game arcades and a variety of different shops can be found here.

Military District is the home of the Ventruvian Miiltary, please stay away from this district for your own safety.

The Arrivals District is for those that are new to Futropolis. there are tourist shops and airports in this quadrant.

and last but not least, the Ventruvian Quadrant. This Quadrant is in the middle of the 5 quadrants and is the home of the Ventruvian Council. The tower of the council can be seen from anywhere in Futropolis.

I pmed you my character sheet. I see one major flaw though in your discription of Futropolis. What country is it located in? I sort of assumed it was in Europe when I made my character sheet.

Name: Yuri Yacov

Age: 28

Class: Seeker

Weapon: Blessed Blade of the Vatican and Snoop-50

Appearance: 6'8 Russian man with dark hair and a serious disposition. He wears old, beat up jeans a n old black polo, and a black hat with the bill normally backwards. He has an olive skin complexity and a slender body build.

Karma: Neutral

Mental state: Slightly disturbed, but nowhere close to insane

Background:

Russia was, for a long time, a safe haven for those with religion to live because of it's isolated nature. However, nothing could stop the anti-religious sentiment that was spreading across Europe since it's capitol, Futropolis, was under direct threat from the Vatican. Half a year after the Vatican was destroyed, the European nations including the United States launched a full scale attack on Russia which they saw as a major threat since it had a large concentration of Christians and the government offices were held by mostly devote Catholics. Russia was overran in a single month.

Yuri lived in a small town and was the child of two Catholic parents. At the age of sixteen his faith was so strong that people thought he would become a saint. One fateful day, Yuri was in confession when screams were heard from outside. There was a loud crash as the church doors were broken down. The priest quickly got out of his compartment where he sat to listen to confessions and threw Yuri in. Almost immediately afterwards, the doors to the confession room was broken down and Futropolitan soldiers cut down the priest, but they did not bother to look inside the compartment. Because of the priest's act of bravery and kindness, Yuri was saved, but no one else in his town survived.

Without family or friends Yuri was able to make it out of Russia which now lay in ruins. He made his way all the way to Italy where he joined the Vatican Revolution. He served as a soldier for five, but he was not satisfied. He felt as though he was only pawn in a massive game of chess. Yuri did not want to play chess, he wanted to play man hunt. He wanted to bring down the people who were responsible for his family's massacre. After much pleading, he was finally trained as a seeker and rose through the ranks. Now Yuri is under the direct command of the leader of the Vatican Revolution.

Yuri has been known to go rover on his assignments by killing more people than he should, killing more brutally than needed, or just killing a different person than he was suppose to all together. He is also looked down upon by other seekers for his unorthodox use of a gun. As a man of strong faith, he understands that what he is doing is wrong and that he has fallen out of favor with God, but lust for vengeance far outweighs his guilt.

OOC: Here we go ladies and gents, have fun now! We're all starting at the Futropolis Airport for one reason or another.

IC: Jericho stepped into the Futropolis Airport and looked about the fine room. There seemed to be about 12 levels of docking bays for ships of the sort and many people roamed through the airport for one reason or another. This did not truly concern Jericho, he was more focused on his goal. He had recieved word from the Vatican council a mere week ago, pleading him to return and help the Vatican. The Freeman Pub was only down a few blocks from the Airport and Jericho did miss teh thrill of the Seeker, though his new job definatly has more of an appeal to him.

"Well well, looky here. A Seeker. Looks like he has fight in him." Jericho said aloud and people took steps away from him. Jericho ran through the crowd and to the new arrivals gate. The Seeker was coming into the complex.

"Excuse me."
Querlos made his way past one of the people standing in the airport, slowly walking through out of the building. He had came here to take care of a small target, one of the bigots who tended to float around the lower ranks of the scientific community. He picked up the pace towards the exit.

He wanted to be gone before his body was found.

OOC: Yo Slink, in your original post you said it was the Freshman Pub, but now your saying its the Freeman Pub. I'm confusilated.

IC: The Vatican had been kind enough to fly Yuri first class to Futropolis, and as they should. Yuri had done much for the Vatican and it was likely that if anyone from the Vatican came into Futropolis it would be there last. Yuri himself had been there three times, and every time had been quite a big failure.

As he walked out into the group of people he took off his hat and scratched his head. He made sure he was perfectly blended in. His jeans and polo, though not in the greatest condition, were doing the job perfectly. A lot of seekers tended to get all caught up into their jobs and wear something, but not Yuri. He knew the importance of blending in. He also took special care to conceal his weapons. The suit case that he was carrying was actually a specially designed gun case where his Snoop-50 was kept. However, he kept his sword in plain sight strapped at his waist. It was there, ready for him, to inflict quick silent death if need be.

Yuri walked through the crowed and headed towards the Freeman Pub where he was ordered to go. The Vatican was putting together a special operation and they wanted to make sure a well skilled and senior member of their order was present.

EWD 4830 headed through the crowds that thronged Futropolis' tourist district. His large jacket covered the two servo arms mounted on his back and he knew he would not be noticed, the din generated by hundreds of people would mask any suspicious noise his limbs would make.

He had been given orders. He had to find the Freeman public house and meet three contacts; Jericho Berut, Querlos and Yuri Yacov.

If he kept his current pace, he would arrive approximately 4.7 minutes early.

Querlos made his way through the crowd, getting calmer as his distance from the restrooms increased. He finally almost sighed in relief as he stepped into the pub. He took a seat at one of the small tables, and pulled out a small book. He was rather fond of classic literature.

He smiled to himself. He was starting to get a bit too risky with the jobs. He needed to be careful, or he was going to get caught, and he couldn't do crap from within one of their cells-or, better yet, dead.

He took a quick look at the clock in the room, an old antique which still had a minute and hour hand, instead of numbers. He was a little early, he may as well order something. He called over a waitress and filled up an order for a drink.

It began to rain as EWD 4830 made his way through the crowd. Fortunately, the wind was blowing the smogs of the factory district away from the city, so the only thing that well was water, instead of the corrosive acidic that could pour down in the worst storms. Of course, the citizens of the factory district would still suffer the acid, but they would be safely ensconced in their facotries. They just had highly dangerous machinery and murderous overseers to worry about.

He pulled his coat up, the thick cloth helping to hide his face, and with the rain now drizzling down it wouldn't attract undue attention.

The satellite navigation device which he had surgically implanted into his cortex beeped to confirm his arrival and he turned to see a sign saying; "The Freeman Public House."

He turned and entered the pub, looking for any of the contacts.

After 3.7 seconds of scanning, EWD 4830 drew a visual match on one of the contacts, the one that simply called himself Querlos. It was logical to assume that a name like that was made up, and while EWD 4830 gained access to the citizenry records of Futropolis, he could find neither somebody named Querlos or a visual match, on anybody alive or dead. So he was meeting a man that didn't exist.

The other two contacts concerned him. Jericho Berut was an unstable sociopath and would be likely to jeopardise the mission. He resolved to keep a close eye on the man and, if necessary, kill him if he threatened to compromise them. Yuri Yacov was far more stable, but his track record was a poor one, a string of failed missions and assignments. Hopefully this mission would not be the case.

EWD 4830 walked over to where the man called Querlos was located and sat down.

"You are the man known as Querlos?" he asked in his strangely mechanical, lyrical voice. "I have been ordered to meet you here. I believe it would be beneficial for both parties if we cooperated, yes?"
