Crossposting this from Bethsoft, haven't got an answer from there yet ![]() ---- I'm currently finishing up my first proper mod, and have a couple of questions regarding it. I'm new at this and I'm no talent when it comes to the technical side of things really, so bare with me ![]() 1) I've had permission to incorporate another mod into mine using the provided resource mod (Xeth-Ban's Tale of the Devious Trader), and I'd like to know how to incorporate it properly. So far I have added the book from the resource into my mod by having the resource crossed when loading the CS. I assume I'll need to add the specific textures etc. into a folder when making my mod package? May need a clear step by step on how to do this properly Edit: would it work if I state in the readme (for example) that the other mod is needed for my mod, and have people install both mods? So I wouldn't need to add the needed textures into my mod package? Or do the dependencies/file paths get messed up? 2) I'm adding my own texts to books, so far I've been using commands already in certain books and just exchanged the texts. Now I'd like to find out how a title can be bolded, and how to add a page break if possible? 3) How does one go about cleaning the mod properly? --- Regarding #1, I've figured I'd add in the needed textures, meshes etc from Xeth-Ban's mod into my mod package, correct me if I'm wrong. And for #3, I've been told Wyre Mash is good? |

For number 3 there is an actual cleaning program out there (for the life of me I can't remember the name of it right now though). A good place to ask modding questions is Great House Fliggerty as well if you don't get your answers here. Edited by Unpleasant_Assailant, Jun 1 2009, 12:48 PM.

For number 2, I'm almost positive it uses HTML codes. Check with Lettuce first, though. He'd know. |

Thanks for the tips guys ![]() I found TESAME to clean the mod so far (maybe that was the one you meant?), and I found out how to change font colour by looking at the source code of the book art html file somewhere on the Morrowind CD. That'll do instead of making it bold. Also got an answer on Bethsoft regarding the mod packaging. I think I'm set now

Alright thanks ![]() I think I've done my mod now, wondering if any of you would like to have a look at it before I throw it into the sea of sharks at Bethsoft ( ). To see if there are any errors, or if the readme needs more information etc. It's basically a little Lodge on the outskirts of Pelagiad, next door to Erval's house (that little group of houses just outside the main town), that belongs to a writer. http://rapidshare.com/files/240056428/TheLodge.7z.html Rapidshare only allows ten downloads but I wanted to wait for an all-clear before I put it up on a proper site. |

Sorry for going a wee bit off topic, but I need to pose this question; would it be theoretically possible for one of us to develop a CS for console? |

No, consoles cannot handle modding. Also, distribution would be tough as well, having to use LIVE or PSN in order to get it to people, which I doubt they would allow free mods on their services. |

Ok, thanks for the offer. I'll probably just do a few more mods using the original meshes/textures etc. first though, to get proper hang of things. Aforementioned mod is now up on PES, in case anyone is interested. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=325359&id=7547 |

Yeh, Morrowind. I need to get screenies from the end product still but haven't had time for it yet. I have a couple from the WIP phase though. http://s298.photobucket.com/albums/mm270/Aiylah/Mods/ I had a few texture mods installed on that savegame though so the ingame ones will look a bit different than original. |
