Hi guys, just a simple question. If i wanted to Retexture, say, a Steel cuirass, WITHOUT Replacing the original texture (Like making a new armor piece using the steel cuirass model but a new texture), How would i go about it? |

Go to Oblivion\Data\Meshes\armor\steel\m and copy Cuirass.nif Make a new folder in Meshes\armor, let's say you name it "Cuirass Re-tex." Paste the mesh into it. Go into the textures folder (This is all assuming that you've extracted your meshes and textures) and find Oblivion\Data\Textures\armor\steel\m Copy cuirass_n.dds and cuirass.dds and do the same thing you did with the mesh. Start Nifskope, if you don't have it, then download it. Expand the drop-downs until you see all seven purple flowers, (for each of the pieces of the mesh) then change all the paths to Oblivion\Data\Textures\armor\Cuirass Re-tex\cuirass.dds The easiest way to do this is after you've done one of them copy the link into the other paths. Now start up the CS and find the steel curiass armor, double click and a 1 to the end of the editor ID, it'll ask you if you want to make a new object, click yes. Find the object you just made and open it up, now change the texture and mesh paths to the new things you copied. One thing I forgot to mention, the world mesh. go to Meshes\armor\steel\m and get cuirass_gnd.nif Put it in Meshes\armor\Cuirass Re-tex and assign the texture path in nifskope for it, assign it for the editor armor too. Now you should be open the new texture up in an image editing program and start re-texing. I hope this will be helpful for you, if you have any questions, just ask. -Dume |
