Last I played it I was 11 or 12, so needless to say, I wasn't able to absorb much lore at all. Now though, I have an appreciation for it all. I'm curious today about which House I should join. I surely don't want to join the Telvanni. I like Redoran well enough, but I seem to recall joining Hlaalu has some part in the main quest. Should I go ahead and join Redoran, or is Hlaalu the only option? Also, what benefits do I get by joining a house? By joining Redoran?

Giant mushrooms are quite fun, particularly if you decorate your house in a normal Morrowind save, without the expansions on Xbox. I remember making some Telvanni shields into a series of shelves. I like them all questwise, but Telvanni are much quicker and easier to first jump into, in my opinion.
