We have a thread to talk about games. We have a thread to talk about music. We have a thread to talk about pictures. I'm even sure we have a book thread buried somewhere. However, we still seem to be missing one creative medium: movies. A couple of days ago, I found this guy called the Nostalgia Critic (link), and he's reminded me of so many movies that I hadn't seen in ages...You know? Movies back then sucked, too. Are we ever going to have an era in which the vast majority of movies aren't terrible? However, he did remind me of one great movie that I had completely forgotten about: The Secret of NIMH. I just love that movie. It's definitely Don Bluth's best. It's also his first. Maybe he should have just stopped there? lol |

When I get nostalgic it's usually when I'm thinking about Disney movies. And Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles of course. duh |

I didn't like Braveheart the first time I saw it. Then, a couple months later, I watched it again, and thought it was awesome. Kinda weird. Kingdom of Heaven is a pretty good movie. |

Im gonna go get Kingdom of Heaven right now and watch it. never seen it before was Saving private Ryan that the one where the sniper shoots the other sniper through his scope and blows his eye up? that was super cool. Pans Labyrinth was pretty sweet too like Milk said. Its brutal in some parts, and the whole thing is in another language, but its a great movie. |

Yeah, that seems to be a very under appreciated movie, probably because it's so long that it's on two DVDs, but just look at something like Shindler's List. That's great. Now, Kingdom of Heaven doesn't even approach the awesomeness of Shindler's List, but it's still good. In fact, the only thing I didn't like about it was Orlando Bloom. This movie is a great example of how that man can't act. |

In Pirates, he was the 'straight guy' to Sparrow's 'funny man', so he really didn't act in that movie, just played a comic foil. |

Again, he was mostly the comic foil for Gimli. Also, in his badass scenes like single-handedly killing the oliphant, that doesn't require acting, just acrobatics and special effects. |

lol I'm not saying he was bad in LotR; I loved him to. Legolas's part doesn't require him to do a whole lot of acting, so it works.
