Man, I'm on a roll with this. I might end up writing our entire demo...

Look back upon the past
Examine the actions
The follies, the triumphs
Reminiscing
Sometimes all we can do

The faded memories draw closer
Taunting with their supremecy
Their haughty auras shine
Teasing, offering a glimpse
Of times less impoverished
Inviting, yet closing out
Reluctant to allow
One man a hold on reality
Instead they return
Back to the murky depths
Of the mind's abyss
from whence they came

So travel onward
Think not of the horrors
The terrors, the abominations
That dominate history
And clutch us with writhing hands

The faded memories draw closer
Taunting with their supremecy
Their haughty auras shine
Teasing, offering a glimpse
Of times less impoverished
Inviting, yet closing out
Reluctant to allow
One man a hold on reality
Instead they return
Back to the murky depths
Of the mind's abyss
from whence they came

The future holds many graces
Bestowing light-hearted jubilance
Upon the kingdoms of man
Through-wrought joy
unencumbered by villainy

The faded memories draw closer
Taunting with their supremecy
Their haughty auras shine
Teasing, offering a glimpse
Of times less impoverished
Inviting, yet closing out
Reluctant to allow
One man a hold on reality
Instead they return
Back to the murky depths
Of the mind's abyss
from whence they came

The faded memories...
Faded...
Memories...

Dammit, Vanir...... I had an awesome daydream of me and Anne Hathaway on a private island. And then in the daydream you came in and murdered her, then asking for my hand in marriage.

Demo...? So your in a band? What kind of music do you guys happen to play? Looking at the lyrics, there's a certain eloquence to them that I think could suit some genres better than others... but at the same time, that also depends on what kind of music you guys put it to, as well.

Btw, anywhere where I can hear some of what you guys have played (if there's any songs before this one (and those others you've posted (I presume, since you say your on a roll (now I'm just being silly with these parentheses (or not)))))?

No, I'm not technically in the band yet, as I don't play anything yet, but I will soon be learning to play bass. And no, we don't have a specific genre outlined yet or anything, but I was hoping for Alt. Rock or similar.

Hmm, I don't listen to much rock, but I think that song could work. Might need to be reworked a bit to fit whatever rhythm your (potential) bandmates come up with. Then again, I ain't no expert with metre and all that, so I wouldn't have a clue what to suggest (might be fine as is -- I'm musically and poetically challenged my friend :().
