Here's the new thread. If you want to get in line for your own song, PM me. DON'T tell me in this thread, because we don't want things to get crowded. Also, you have to contribute in order to get your own song. You don't have to literally dissect the song, but at least say if you like/dislike it and give a reason why. Here we go... Song: Shameful Metaphors Band: Chevelle Album: Sci-Fi Crimes (2009) Lyrics Fear It's all the same Should I evolve To tend to these sights Said out loud then said again If fate's so wrong You'll start to feel lightheaded By my admission, nothing even grows Just a longer list of unsorted laws So why then Has all my life made no sound And are your eyes Closing even now My life made no sound I fear your eyes closing Revolting man This sacred chain Brought down to trial No better man could fail the way You needed all Keep close the vein of empty Thoughts The finest river, The ravens tend All along insisting We're worlds away So why then Has all my life made no sound And are your eyes Closing even now My life made no sound I fear your eyes closing Behold the lost Behold a Band-Aid Behold the lost Behold a Band-Aid These shameful metaphors Fought it through the teeth Shameful metaphors Biting at your heels Shameful metaphors Fought it cheek to cheek So why then Has all my life made no sound (These shameful metaphors) And are your eyes Closing even now My life made no sound (These shameful metaphors) I fear your eyes closing Edited by redsrock, Nov 7 2009, 11:24 AM.

I absolutely LOVE this song. It sounds like it's about an old person thinking about his life, and the tragedies within it. |

Yeah it's really sad. That's kinda why I like it. Chevelle makes really good sad songs. |

Hmm, not bad. Chevelle aren't my favourite band *ducks thrown chairs* but this one seems alright. A good sad feeling to it, and it does seem to be similar to Vanir's interpretation of an oldie looking back on his/her life. I liked the guitar bit at the beginning of the song as well. |

Well I must say I liked that entire album, though most of the songs on it struck me as sad. That said I don't mind that and is probably my favorite chevelle album. This song has a nice degree of reflection in the lyrics though I like it because of the sound. It is slightly different in sound than most of the other chevelle songs reds has made us listen to. |

NEW SONG!!! Song: East Jesus Nowhere - Green Day Song LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPu18Wt8e7Y Raise your hands now to testify Your confession will be crucified You're a sacrificial suicide Like a dog that's been sodomized Stand Up! All the white boys Sit Down! And the black girls You're the soldiers of the new world Put your faith in a miracle And it's non-denominational Join the choir we will be singing In the church of wishfull thinking A fire burns today Of blasphemy and genocide The sirens of decay Will infiltrate the faith fanatics Oh bless me Lord for I have sinned It's been a lifetime since I last confessed I threw my crutches in the river Of a shadow of doubt And I'll be dressed in my Sunday best Say a prayer for the family Drop a coin for humanity Ain't this uniform so flattering? I never asked you a god damn thing A fire burns today Of blasphemy and genocide The sirens of decay Will infiltrate the faith fanatics Don't test me Second guess me Protest me You will disappear I want to know who's allowed to breed All the dogs who never learned to read Missionary politicians And the cops of a new religion A fire burns today Of blasphemy and genocide The sirens of decay Will infiltrate the inside |

Wut? Anyway, quite boring song. What I think is that Green day have gone christian and think we are all sinners and want us to repent when we listen to this song. |

Sounds more to me like they think religion is taking over the world, and they hold it in contempt. |

I agree that this song has anti religous vibes.
Seems to call to light some of the darker side of religion with the mentioning of fanatism and genonide and the image fire brings to mind. I've always liked how greenday sounds. |

I agree with this one. And I must say I like old Green Day MUCH better. Ever since the American Idiot album they've sucked.... They need to go back to the days of Basketcase. |

Band - Blue Oyster Cult Song - Flaming Telepaths . Song Link - hereyougomyfriends Lyrics: Well I've opened up my veins too many times And the poison's in my heart and in my mind Poison's in my bloodstream Poison's in my pride I'm after rebellion I'll settle for lies Is it any wonder that my mind's on fire Imprisoned by the thoughts of what to do Is it any wonder that my joke's an iron And the joke's on you Experiments that failed too many times Transformations that were too hard to find Poison's in my bloodstream Poison's in my pride I'm after rebellion I'll settle for lies Yes I know the secrets of the iron and mind They're trinity acts, a mineral fire Yes I know the secrets of the circuitry mind It's a flaming wonder telepath Well I've opened up my veins too many times And the poison's in my heart and in my mind Poison's in my bloodstream Poison's in my pride I'm after rebellion I'll settle for lies Is it any wonder that my mind's on fire Imprisoned by the thoughts of what to do Is it any wonder that my joke's an iron And the joke's on you |
