Timing is Everything is awesome. I've set Vampire attacks for level 30, and DG recruitment to 28 - that will keep things from rushing. I also delayed Dragonborn and the Cultist attacks until after Dragonslayer is completed.

Yep, that's about what I do. Sometimes I just delay everything forever, if it's just a girl I'm exploring with.

I will likely do that for any faction specific characters. Thief RP? See ya later, DG and DB.

That is what I generally do.. Along with You are not the Dragonborn That way I can have Dragon's, but not collect souls or deal with the animation..

I too use Timing is Everything. I especially like the way it lets you shut down the random and repeated cultist attacks in Skyrim after the questline has already started. I find those Cthulhu looking buggers annoying as hell and they won't stop until you have all but completed the Dragonborn questline.

Instead of Not the Dragonborn, I just use Skyrim Unbound as my alternate start mod. It has a number of options for being the dragonborn, or not, and how to deal with dragon souls, shouts.

Another cool mod I like is Meh31's edits to the script for the Solsteim Standing Stones that lets a non-dragonborn character (or any character) sleep on Solstheim without being teleported to the nearest standing stone. Really opens up the options for non-dragonborn characters to make an extended stay on solstheim.

I really love SU - but it doesn't play nice with LotD. And LotD is more important to me than SU - so I just use LAL now.

Anybody have a good sound mod? I had Immersive Sounds Compendium for SSE, but haven't found one I like yet for LE.

Areial has something she uses I think. Can't remember what it is, and couldn't find the post on a quick lookover. I just use the Celtic Music replacer, set low enough that I can hear the ambient noises like birds, crickets etc.

I'll have to look up the name In My list ... nature sounds of Skyrim? Cause i dont remember...

I'm not using it atm... The Ruffled feathers adds sound so I've stuck with that.

I use AOS2 for sound.

Following up on my recommendation for Skyrim Unbound, one thing about that mod I like (but not everyone may agree) is that it completely skips the vanilla start even if you are playing a Dragonborn. You also skip the Dragonstone quest in BFB and the fight with the wounded dragon at the watchtower. I personally have done all of that enough and never need to do any of it again and am happy to skip it since it always felt contrived. If your character is Dragonborn, they discover it naturally upon killing their first Dragon, where ever that may be. But not everyone will be happy to skip all of that.

I don't know about conflicts with LOTD. I have never really had any interest in that mod. Most of my characters aren't dragonborn and the ones that are dragonborn don't really feel like becoming Indiana Jones in SKyrim.

Somehow, after doing it ten thousand and three times, I still manage to enjoy doing BFB... 'Course I find new ways to get past things, and one thing I like to do is simply pass through without fighting even one damned thing aside from the boss to get the stone. The spider is the hardest...

Mirmulnir wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that you don't have to do anything at all to get the credit for killing him. I think I'd miss him though... by now he's kinda like an old friend, you know? :)

Yeah, its mostly the tutorial that I enjoy skipping. I don't mind doing BFB, but I don't like the way it is railroaded on you by visiting Dragonreach and then once you have the stone, you again get railroaded into the battle with Mirmulnir by visiting dragonsreach again. The first time that was cool, but after a while it started feeling contrived.

You can still do BFB with Skyrim Unbound, there just won't be a dragonstone at the end but everything else is the same, even the word wall where you can learn FUS if you haven't already killed a dragon.

I've been using Skyrim Unbound a lot, just because I'm testing mods that need a completely new game to work (overriding Hearthfires things in its "start game enabkled" quest). That cart ride is way too long, and my test characters just want to go off and build something. I also have Live Another Life, but find it a bit less flexible for creating the kind of test characters I need.

Sounds of Skyrim-The Wilds

As I said though, I don't use it anymore ( even though the bloating is fixed.. Ruffled Feather, SkyTest and a few specific animal mod's add sounds.

Went through on a sneaky character with a penchant for Illusion. Calmed Ol' Bitey and got the Dunmer loose and then sat back and watched the fun!
