Can't seem to bring myself to play 'cartoon' looking games anymore, not for a long time.

I prefer RPGs and open world at that.

Ditto. And there are definitely RPGs I just can't get into - Fable, Final Fantasy....

Yeah...on top of that Adella would have a fit if I tried to force her personality into some screen abomination with purple spikes for hair, giant water filled eyes and a case of overbalancing neoteny.

I am afraid that for me now anything that looks like FF or anime or just too far from sane get junked.

In fact.....only Skyrim provides a half decent CC screen to make real looking people chars....Even Squeezing the Contessa into an Oblivion potato face might be barely possible....but she would hate every minute of it.

FO4....is almost possible for us.....but getting a good body and the face is essential....plus there's all that crap about finding a baby etc

Yeah....Skyrim has kinda closed off other games for now......I never counted on this happening.

I suppose I might be allowed a temporary sojourn into a regular action game without Adella at my metaphorical elbow.....but I gotta keep her happy....

A good face can be done... but it would take time.... I had some decent looking Oblivion characters, mostly Dunmers..for some reason it was just easier for me.

Playing vanilla SSE on PC now, but getting closer to pulling the mod trigger.

Do some of the follower/companion mods allow you to permanently gear up your housecarls? During my Brelynn playthrough Rayya at Lakeview was being humiliated by three bandits when I and Marcurio walked up to the property. Yeah, three on one, I get it. But this is MY Rayya, a dual wielding dervish that when geared up drops Deathlords like nobodies business. Being brought to the knee by lowlifes is unacceptable. Seriously, this bugged the draugr dust out of me. This was a signal sent by the gaming gods to get my act together and get serious.

Thoughts?

Hmmm I would say yes if was SLE ...AFT allows for that, but I don know if SSE has the same options.

After watching "Modding for Dummies" vids and actually reading up on reddit and Steam I plodded through moving my Steam files to F:, getting NMM and installed the unofficial patch and A Quality World Map. There was some :bang: but ultimately prevailed ;)

Baby steps and lots of learning to do!

Climates of Tamriel added tonight. Woot! The nights are incredible :thumb: Although fighting a dragon, two cave bears and two vamps at the same time in the dark was a rather eventful CoT welcoming. I tried Vivid Weathers and it just didn't do it for me. CoT is good stuff.

I liked CoT, but it just got to the point where I detested the thought of spending another minute blundering around in total darkness even with light spells and torches.

Neil their is a "vanilla" setting for CoT for the dungeons...and night.. I use I think 1 or 2 now, because I added RLO with it.

Dolomite Natural springs a few pitch dark nights at us at times too. Torches and lanterns illuminating just like eight feet ahead. You can't run without hitting something or going off a ledge.

Being chased under those conditions is a real butt clencher eh!

"Nice to have mods"
Well.....after Alpine pulled his entire mod offerings from the Library creating a lot of upset with users....I said I never use his stuff again.....since having the threat of a wrecked load order hanging over you is no good for long term playthroughs.

But he has resurfaced (the nerve!) and I did like his "Lilly replacement courier" so I have installed her. She can be an advantage at times though...if there's a vampire attack while she's waiting around (as couriers do) she just chops 'em up before the guards can step in. But I love her voice....so had to load her up. :)

I've heard there is a setting like that, but I never found it. Possibly other lighting mods were interfering as well, so I may try it again someday...

When you 1st install CoT it asks which option's you'd like... SLE... maybe that option isn't in SSE yet? But it has the "Darkness".. interiors, Dungeons, nights.. etc I've had to Un-install then re-install to get the lighting effect's that I want, but in the end it's worth it!
