Interesting list. Of course, I don't have any to share, because I'm into playing on adept and just killing what I have to as fast as possible so I can get on with something more fun. And that's NOT having to micromanage staying alive....

Sere... some like Sea of Spirits, only makes it harder by round-a-bout.. what I mean is, if you don't go IN the water, sharks can't attack (unless they pull a slaughter fish and swim on land ). I actually got that mod for the whales. I want to do a character that explores the North, preferably not an empty North...lol

So my little test character is checling to see if the mods I might want to use are compatible. ...err plus other mods that character will never see.

Deadly Dragons has an MCM menu where you can adjust how deadly the dragons are, plus make NPC's non-killable....or go insane and make the dragons invincible. ...errr yeah, not me either.

Heh. I don't have dragons at all any more. I did look at the Sea of Spirits mod 'cause I thought the whales might be neat....

You had me at Requiem. Lol, who needs sharks when you have giant slaughterfish. :)

Requiem and Frostfall are probably my only "make the game harder" mods, although I have them more for the roleplaying aspects than just to make the game harder.

I recently started playing with Trade and Barter, which depending on the MCM settings can make the economy harder.

I finally got around to playing Requiem, which Turija has strongly recommended in the past. I absolutely love this mod! I can't imagine playing without it.

I don't have any to add, but I will vouch for Requiem. It's not perfect but it does add to the difficulty factor. To be more specific, the armor system is bad, and personally I'd throw Light Armor into Heavy Armor and rename it "Armor" and keep Evasion as its own thing. I also don't feel the changes to the main quest areas mesh well with the game.

I wish you could get its cooking system and spells as a separate package (but the latter would have to be rebalanced...) But yeah, too many compatibility patches needed. What Skyrim needs is something like Maskar's Oblivon Overhaul. That's one of my favorite difficulty mods for Oblivion because of what it adds and the fact that it's easily tailored to your gameplay style by editing ini files.

Frostfall serves your survivalist needs, and I like the diversity added by the Immersive Creatures mod. I don't really like the Monster Mod, though, mostly because the creatures added don't really feel TES, or at the very least don't really fit well in Skyrim.

Revenge of the Enemies also didn't really mesh well with the vanilla game, but I tried it a long time ago.

As I was writing this down, I remembered that I DO have something to add to this.

Ultimate Deadly Encounters

Not the most stable of mods in my experience, but it makes the game far more difficult due to random encounters, reinforcement calling, crippling diseases and many other nasty things. I dropped it the moment it incorporated that stupid as hell zombie mode. It's always zombies. Especially the "guess that fetish!" ones. Eugh.

Gods yeah.....aren't zombies just the 'must have fad' of the moment (well last couple of years).

Of course Skyrim has zombies built in.....but somehow draugr staying indoors protecting and cleaning their cosy twee tomb spaces doesn't equate to day walking masses of lurching rot bags lolloping all around the villages.

They should have had a 'day of the draugr' when they all came outside for a dose of fresh air and brains ;)
