The issue is not so much difficulty as tools. You need an external modelling program, like 3DS MAX, Maya, or Blender, and you need export tools to convert one format of animation to another, including the specific Havok toolset to make them compatible with Skyrim. Many of those aren't free, so the only folk who have them are doing large quantities of poses and animations to justify the expense. You also need some external tools like NifSkope, just to convert meshes from Skyrim to Skyrim SE. I had a bunch of that to do for my mods. For ready-made poses and animations, there are a couple of types: mods that provide player control over animations already in the game; and others that add extra ones. The latter need a tool to merge the havok behaviour graphs (essentially the list of what animations a mesh can do, with full- and part-body combos). A humanoid can stand or sit and drink, with the upper-body part being common, so some animations affect the whole character, and some just the top or bottom half, so they can be combined. The rules for that are complex, hence the need for a management tool. The ones already in the game needed that done the first time, too. |

It's a REALLY nice house - all of hers are, though the earlier ones are mostly either tiny or in the exterior worldspaces (which is a KILLER on FPS - Cliffside does a number on even this machine). She's in the middle of doing a Redguard inspired one that a couple of us asked her for - hope she has it done this week! |

Sere you aren't kidding about Cliffside house, that last dress ( from DAI) that I got Adella's pictures in... CTD.. would not load with the dreas on, went from 45fps to 5 soon as the dress was put on, but I had downloaded the 4k version 1st, then the 2k. I loves the house but had to move all Adella's wardrobe to Lakeview. |

Heavy Graphics... because when I do Adella's photo shoot's, I want the back ground to look nice as well. So her mod "set" is at the tip top of what my PC will take. This Dress, SC Halamshiral Ballgown Its a nice dress...but you can't really pose in it much... |

Add to Library will make them available when you start the game, When you get the loading menu, click 'mods'. It will bring those from Bethnet up, click on the one you want and download from the menu that will come up. It will add to your game right away and you can then load your save. All done 'in-game', so to speak. |

Yeah, it will bring up a Beth.net login before downloading if you're not already logged in. |

But you don't have to be online to play. You just have to be online to use the load order thing, or download a mod. Which is why I do mine manually, then I'm only online to use the sort function. The minute sort is done I disable my connection. |

Thanks ghastley, I suspected that the movement arcs of the skeletons would have to be modelled separately. I guess some people do it, because we get to see dancing npcs etc in you tube. It would be a big undertaking just to get the player char to scratch her nose or swig from a bottle as an animation....shame. Maybe the tool sets will be a stage simpler by the time TES VI gets modded huh! |

Usually modders use an existing animation. The game has a sort of "library" of animations that can be applied to characters and NPCs. Usually these are added by a script. for instance, if you had a girl you wanted to dance at a certain point, you would have a script keyed to a variable. when the variable is right value, then you have a script that says something like "startscript dancing girl" I made a mod once that had a ballroom filled with dancing people (all based on existing animations). To create totally new animations though is time consuming and somewhat difficult. |
