Hee, Sere, well clearly you haven't read every single post I have ever posted then! Chuckles. I have always been open to the idea of a pc.....but the cost has always been a problem and I always said I wouldn't waste my hard earned on a cost effective barely capable machine. If I am going to switch over it needs to be a clear advantage in performance and have some degree of future proofing (as best we can foresee). Plus I want it pre-built with guarrantees, even if that costs a lot more...peace of mind! ;) |

Rick, that's double the amount needed for a good pre-built. $1,600 would've landed me an ultra PC. |

Rick, the XB1 version won't be quite the same, the Devs have said that. It will be a slightly 'stripped down' version, though no doubt it will still be good. Edit: though they didn't say stripped down how.... Oh, definitely go for a pc! Edited by Andra Hawksdaughter, Jul 17 2017, 05:39 PM.

Getting a PC means you can make your own mods. Ones that do exactly what |

Just the man I wanted to see.. and ask.. and right on topic too! How hard would it be to do a Hearth-fire style ( build your own) Farm? What I mean is create the mod.. spouse and kid friendly ( more than just two...err kid's not spouses) I looked for a Farm in the Rift, but.. didn't like most of what I saw.. to cluttered, NPC's included ( and would have to console them out). No real plant-able plots... Not family friendly.. etc.. Soooo I looked at building my own house mod and while I know it's not "easy" it looks like the trickiest part for a "regular" house is the Navemesh and idle markers.. So how much harder ( and I know it's got to be) is a Hearthfire style build your own house? |

Edit in....yeah, I had chuckle at ghastley's strike through too Yes, the possibilities had not escaped me! Adella could be quite something! I plan to save the cost of a monitor by using the tv....and using a controller instead of mouse. I will approach a reputable gameing pc building company with whom I can discuss the requirements and build options to fit my budget. Most vitally, this way I know its gonna work and who to speak with if it breaks down! I just do not possess the knowhow to build one from a bucket list....tho it would be cheaper. None of us yet know what TES VI might require....but future proofing for the next few years has to be a consideration, since it may be a long time before I have the means to upgrade. But its too early to get over excited....hee hee Oooh...Trace is gonna be a mod author.....yay! All that optimiser, nifskope, blender stuff....shudder....but the things I could do.....I could make Adella very happy ;) And if she's happy....I'm happy Kinda like being married really....... First you have to make the house/farm/cave/wagon, and then you create the misc items that are tokens for the built items, and the recipes for them, and ... see the gory details here. Plus you have to nav-mesh for the empty shell as well as the furnished. And possibly the bare site will need changes. Breaking up a building into pieces you construct separately is a whole extra job in Blender - can't do that sort of thing in the CK. I got lucky with the buildable wagon, as the model was already mostly sectioned the way I wanted, just to make it work as a moving carriage. It's at least three times as much work as a non-BYO mod, rising to ten or more if the building itself gets built in stages, or with options. Edited by ghastley, Jul 20 2017, 01:04 PM.

Thank you Ghastley, I scanned through that, very informative. I'll give it a better read when I get home. And for now will just deal with what I can find. I have too many irons in the fire as it is! I don't have the time for an involved project. |

The bottom line is that you have to make the place before you slice it up into build units. So you get to choose at that point whether to go further. I often do, you may not. |

True that, I know what I want in a house...and it's like my characters, I'd drive myself insane trying to get it perfect... but I'll give it a shot, just not today or tomorrow! |

Right now I'm trying to decide if this house becomes Posted Image I have some Telvanni house pieces that might work as "part grown" models, and the interior is no harder than any other HF home. |

I'm running into problems. My game is suffering noticable fps drop, quite juddery at times. On top.....Adella's body mod (Fluffins unp3 version) is no longer available If I scrap my LO I will lose her body.....so I need a replacement.....there are only three I can see BM, RUNP and Seraphim (big bum) none have a nice female shape....I want a well built warrioress with good sized assets....not a toast rack with fried eggs for boobs and not the Seraphim idea of small boobies with massive hips and bum. Skinny stick limbs are also a no no. Some of these mod authors have funny ideas of what a woman should look like....sexxy and voluptuous is not one of them :( I can't work out what's causing my laggy play. The only mods added in the last few weeks are Sit Anywhere and LayDown Anywhere....I will try disabling those first....nothing to lose I guess... |

You really need to get that PC you've been talking about. Body Slide allows you to have any type or shape of body you want. It works best for FO4, but it does work for skyrim as well. |

Neil is right, I use body slide at times, now I use it for a different reason. Usually cause an outfit I want requires it or needs to be converted from CBBE to UNP.. But I have played with it enough to know that you can really get the "look" you want, the exact look. |

Ok....this does NOT make sense. As reported....I had a judder issue....it appeared like a few milliseconds pause every 3 or 4 seconds. Noticeable when running, panning the camera and even when rotating the images used on loading screens. Suspecting a mod issue I disabled (not uninstalled) both sit anywhere and Laydown anywhere. Judder gone! :) But which mod caused it..or was it a combination of both. Reenabled Laydown Anywhere.....maybe a smidgeon of judder, but hard to tell. So switched it off again. Reenabled sit anywhere...same story...a barely worse judder...maybe even no worse! Clearly then....a conflict between the two. So...reenabled both and look for the bad judder...um....yeah....GONE. Wtf?. The test were done on my surviving copy of Adella's pre-mortem save. Which is where I first joticed the judder, but subsequently found it had also affected my initial save with Ralof. So what caused it and why it could not be reproduced is a complete mystery....but the good news is I don't have to trash my load order and lose her body mod. The bad news is clearly that it could...and is probably likely, to return! Right....ok. I need to get back in the saddle. On a plus note....I removed "Beauties of Skyrim" the face tex mod. So now Adella can once again enjoy various shades of eye shadow. This has pleased her no end and earned me more 'good boy' points in her book....I am saving up for a.....good time :$ :D |
