Richard, you should change the penalty example in the first post as Conjuration is one of the chosen skills. Change to Restoration, perhaps?

Hmm, yeah. Will do!

Because I'm a nice guy, I decided to roll another skill and, surprisingly, restoration was the one that appeared! I was honestly hoping for alchemy, destruction or alteration...

Some food for thought regarding tracking bounty quests which you can receive from the Jarl's Steward or an Innkeeper. You will receive in your inventory a pamphlet with said bounty decree outlining whom to go whack upon. Just throw them all into safe storage to help keep track/reference. If you think you've forgotten one on your tick list the pamphlets will be there to help out. :)

Since you've been kind enough to add another skill, I'm going to play on Master. Please update Jorg accordingly. Thanks!

Update on Gornevan - He's at level 5 (almost 6) and at the Whiterun gates. I've only played him for 2 hours and I'm already loving this build! :P

I think it's great you added restoration... especially since we don't have alchemy. I wish I'd known this morning when I nearly got killed by an orc with a big hammer in Embershard Mine. Life would have been a lot easier! I managed to stumble out the rear exit though... but only barely!

Brandon still hasn't left the immediate surroundings of Riverwood, he's trying to do a little fund-raising. I think he's level 4 ATM.

Fund raising in this round will be lots of work....no easy potion selling or magic dagger selling.

No funds means little training....its gonna be a toughie

Neil....on Legendary with low..everything you were damn lucky to get outta there. Despite it being considered an easy start dungeon....the bandits don't hit any less hard for their rank...and that two hander is deadly at your level even as a Nord bandit let alone Orc.

Do you use the rock fall trap? I lure them into the already fallen boulders...which seems to fatally break their ankles ;)

Aireal tip #1.... chop wood...run to Dragonsreach. ..buy Fury...let the bandit's kill each other... buy calm next, calm lone bandits... or fire atronach and let her take care of one of the two.

《 sigh 》Caleb is not even out of Helgen... later when I get home, I'll at least get him to Riverwood.

Areial....Oh Neil's fav spells are illusion....right Neil !

I'd have lured the preliminary bandits through the rock fall trap then done flame atronach from the ledge overlooking the forge and run back to hide in sneak each time.

But one nice thing about Embershard is there are several ways to crack it ;)

The two bandits you first encounter from the main entrance fell easily enough. I didn't have to go to Dragonsreach to buy Fury, the Riverwood trader had it. Anyway, I hit one of those first two with fury, and led the other one through the rock trap, but it didn't kill him. We fought briefly, then I ran outside and killed a lot of time while I waited to heal up (that's what I meant about restoration would have made my life easier :) ).

Anyway, I then went back in and sicced my familiar on him, then I killed him while the familiar kept him busy. Went down to the treasure room and used the same familiar tactic on the door guard. That was all pretty easy.

No, the problem with the orc began when I went in the back door of the mine. The patrolling archer wasn't fooled at all by my low sneak, and he roused the orc. I summoned my familiar and sent him into the breech (so to speak) and he lasted a few seconds. I was able to summon him once more before the bandits could get to me, but I had to retreat while the familiar carried the fight to baddies.

This time, the orc took him out almost immediately, and I summoned the familiar one last time with my last bit of magicka (thank goodness for that novice mage's hood) but the damned orc ran right past him! I was backing away and managed a power hit with my iron hammer that slowed the orc enough that I got out the exit... just in time. He hit me once as I was exiting, and it left me with about 5 health points.

I might be able to show a video later on, I'm not sure what all I've got recorded. It was exciting though! :D

The result is four dead bandits at the main entrance and in the first two sections, and still three living bandits in the back area. I did get everything out of the locked treasure cell though, so I've got a little loot now.

EDIT: I haven't left Riverwood, so there's no way I have Flame Atronach yet, eh? :)

Reminds me of a time in Halted Stream. She got hit by the orc chief just as the door loading screen kicked in. I was left wondering did she? Or didn't she? Until it loaded up and She appeared on the other side collapsing with the death groan....

Ah reminiscing !

No Sere....he was in Embershard Mine

I'm thinking Halted Stream will be a kick in the head with this build... I talked to Orgnar, and he gave me the bounty letter for Silent Moons. That's often not a cakewalk either, eh?

I go in the back door... easier to get them one at a time... the Riverwood Trader doesn't always have Fury for me...be great if he does.
