A cabin in the woods? A perfect place for gaming! The night is dark, the wind softly moans through the trees, occasionally punctuated by the lonely cry of a nightbird...

The cabin is lit only by the light of a fireplace, that has burned down to the reddish glow of coals, and the radiant light from our hero's monitor as he obliviously plays Oblivion. The game is loud, and he doesn't hear the slight noise made by the opening of the exterior door or the pad of beastly paws as they slowly cross the floor toward him.

Slowly, step by stealthy step the the form of the beast moves closer and closer... On the screen, an Imp pelts our hero's character with fireballs, while undead vampirical trolls slip ever closer...

The beast has stopped now, just behind our hero, and watches the flickering screen as if entranced, then bellows in rage, right in our hero's ear! "What the hell's the matter with you! Quit fooling around with that damned imp, and take out those trolls! Here, move out of the way fool and let me take care of those for you..."

I think Skyrim even has a book called "The Cabin in the Woods".

The cabin we had in the woods didn't have electricity, but it did have a woodstove. Of course, this was before computers.

The cabin we had in the woods didn't have a stove, just an odd little firepit beneath an open portion of roof. In fact, it had a door hung on leather straps that couldn't be locked from the outside, and was held shut with a wooden bar on the inside.

It also didn't have glass in the windows which were closed by wooden shutters with rifle slits for just in case.

None of that however would stop gaming. You just need extra batteries for your laptop, and a charger so you you can recharge batteries with your car. :)

Yeah, but it being before computers might have been a hindrance. ;)

My younger brother and I built our cabin when we were in our teens. We made it from bark slabs left over from the sawmill.

It was about 12' x 16', with a shed roof. We had a small potbelly stove, a couple of salvaged windows, and a plywood door with a padlock. We had two bunks in there, and a couple of old chairs. My brother was into animal slaying, and the inside walls were partially covered by hides he had skinned and cured.

Cool! The one we had was all-original, and sat in our front yard. It was built sometime before 1850 and had been used as a stagecoach stop until 1890-something. My folks wanted nothing to do with it, but I kinda took it over after I got rid of the rats.

Heck, I had my own fenced graveyard and everything... :)

I will probably have my last Oblivion session for a while now this evening. As of tomorrow I'll move to the cottage and thus gaming will only happen once in awile.

I'll have Lothran stay in the Imperial City as it's so central and from where he can reach all of Cyrodiil quite easily if need be. I reckon next time he's upp for Bravil which will be nice :)

If all goes as planned, Lothran will embark on his journey to Bravil tonight. Been a great while since he was there so it will be nice to see it all again. As usual he will buy ingredients, re-charge weapons and just hang about :)

Hope his trip is smooth enough to live over, and rough enough to be interesting!

It was :)

Nice weather and along the road a few Minotaur Lords. Nothing Lothran and his Spriggan couldn't handle but since it was a long time ago we were out and about they still posed a minor challenge.

The Dunmer is now sitting in his home in Bravil. Dusk has settled in and high summer in Bravil county has begun :)

Don't think I've been to Bravil, yet. Still so much of that game I'm missing.

I've barely scratched the surface of Oblivion. Probably 10 total hours across a few characters. I've been to Bruma, Chorrol, and Leyawiin.
