This is intended to be a sort of "mod finders" thread for Oblivion. I'm trying to rebuild my Oblivio0n mod list, and there is one that is eluding me. It was a mod that overhauled Bravil. It was more than just an overhaul though, it was made by some great German folks who overhauled Bravil and made a great mod, then translated it into English. I just cannot for the life of me think of the name of it... |

I think I had that mod. But I no longer have all my old mod folders. (Well.... I probably do - on one of the redundant drives - but the only one that's USB is the one in the safe deposit box.... and I really don't want to have to pop the box open, see if I have enough cables of the right kind to plug in an antique hdd.) I did look through the smaller USB drives with partials here and there, but nothing on them, sorry. And I don't remember what it was called either. |

Here are some of my favorite Oblivion mods Elseweyr: Deserts of Anequina Maskars Oblivion Overhaul Realistic Leveling Supreme Magicka Midas Magic His Oblivion mod was way better than his Skyrim mod. Enhanced Economy Arcane University Overhaul -- Universitas Arcanarum All Natural Compatbility Patches for Universitas Arcanaram and All Natural and the UOP Made by yours truly. I also love Better Cities and Unique Landscapes but they require a ton of compatibility patches and can affect framerate a lot, particularly Better Cities. EDIT Better Cities does include that German mod Blood and Mud -- love the hot chicks voice acting in that mod! EDIT 2: The two face mods for oblivion are Oblivion Character Overhaul and Enhanced Genetics. I cannot speak for either of them as I have never used them ( I kind of like the potato look), but they are both very popular. I have used COBL, which includes an optional races plugin that makes faces look a lot better without completely removing the Oblivion "potato" look. That is what I use, since the other face mods change faces too much for my liking, but they are both very popular with people who don't like potato faces. Edited by Turija, Aug 11 2017, 01:05 PM.

Thanks Turija, the COBL doesn't show any faces so it's hard to say which I like better, but of the other two... I like the Enhanced Genetic's beter. The other mod's look good also. I'll give all of them a better look see when I get more ready to do an Oblivion run. |

COBL races is a slightly reduced version of the old race balancing project by bg2408, which is no longer available on NEXUS, but here is a video I found of the bg2408's race balancing project that gives you an idea of what the faces look like with the COBL races plugin. One reason I use the COBL races plugin instead of Enhanced Genetics is I also use the COBL balanced races plugin that expands racial abilities and birthsigns and that might have compatibility issues with OCO or Enhanced Genetics. |

The faces were still hard to see, but they didn't have that round mashed in look! I'll probably give different thing's a try, just as I did with Skyrim... well almost, I picked UNP body and I've stuck to it.. |

Anyone know of an alternate start mod? I haven't gone to look meself, yet, but though I'd ask anyway. I think I am going to try balancing a couple games at once, instead of playing only one at a time. I have a thief RP in mind for Oblivion, so that I can check out the Thieves Guild story. Name: Cassian Race: Imperial Sex: Male Sign: Thief Class: ??? (Probably thief, but it lacks a blade skill) |

For alternate start mods, I think TU Starting Options is one of the best. It has 45 different starting locations, including some really adventurous "danger" starts that put you deep in dungeons. |

Wow - never saw that one. I've always used the very simplistic one from DungBeetle - which works just fine and doesn't mess up anything else. I'll have to try that one, glargg. |

It has at least one bug (one of the starting dungeon location puts you in a broken location, and you have to TCL to advance), but I've found it mostly very good. You can choose the vanilla Prison start if you want, slightly modified because you've already chosen your class and birthsign in the character creation, but it's all handled well. And there is a way of doing a delayed MQ start that fits right into one of the Imperial City side quests. |
