Blast! I forgot about the competition in my excitement. Ah well, mayhaps in the mean time, I'll try to get my eponymous avatar started up again.

Eighteen - Restoration:

That moment was one that Tan would remember all his later life as definition: the defining of himself as a man. He had gone on into the oasis, trusting that Lady Syloria was right about the cheetahs and the amulet. Yes, those in the canyon had ignored him - but what if that was only the ones in the canyon? After all, it had been two hundred years of passing down tales.... and he knew all too well how things could become confused over time.

However, the calm of the cats as he walked through them to the huge building at the other end of the valley was in itself soothing - and so he reached the gate, and watched it sink into the ground of its own volition, in a vast peace of his own.

He’d never told anyone the rest of the tale. He’d re-entered Ben Erai a day or so later, the Cowl tucked into his belt like nothing more than an old rag. Going up to the Fort, he spoke a few words of thanks to Arenar, a few more to the Lady, and then he used the portal to return to Falkreath.

It wasn’t difficult to find the Alf’agars - they would be just over the border into Hammerfell, waiting. Not patiently, but waiting. And so they were.

The homecoming was almost painful - all of them seemed afraid to ask him anything. All but Selalla - she cocked her head at him, and said “So then?” Siara, behind the matriarch, smiled and shook her head.

“We have a place in the desert. There is a village with room for all, and a Fort for protection from some of the desert’s surprises. There is a way to and from Skyrim - it is like the Travel Room in the Castle, though - more primitive. Will you follow?”

They would. And they did. While he would like to have said, “And they lived happily ever after” - well, this was real life. So they lived. They thrived. Tankot Desertborn might have become the Gray Fox. Or he might not have. And they were returned to their roots - in the Alik’r.

Thanks, guys. Now I have to admit to actually crying as I finished it. So I'm a sap, sue me! I will be finishing up in Siara's tale as well, tying up loose ends, but it's time to move on to another tale I believe.

Sad to see it end, and will be very hard to see Siara's end too. It's been a wonderful ride though Sis! I've enjoyed the gamut of intertwined tales and emotions!
