Perhaps, but if "soon" does not exist, then perhaps "never" would apply, eh? ;)

In any case, I kinda think trying to take a vacation to the Somerset Isles before taking action would be ill advised. :)

ROFL! Yeah.... I WISH the entirety of Tamriel was available for play....

Well, it's not, so yeah. Not going there.

If I remember right, I think you said you never played Morrowind... but anyway, there was a team of talented modders who set out to create Tamriel in its entirety as a sort of mod. I don't know if they ever finished it or not. At one point they were pretty far along, and I tried to play it, but my FPS dropped to about 3. Not their fault, I had a pretty crappy computer at that time. I think they called it the "Tamriel Project" or something like that.

Oh, I've played all the games starting with Arena. However, by the time modders really got cranked up on MW, I'd gone on to other things, so I didn't realize there was anything that big in the works.

Morrowind became fantastic after Oblivion was released. Morrowind Graphics enhancer changed everything in much the same way SKSE changed modding for Skyrim. LOD became marvelous. I used to cast "Icarian Flight" just so I get high enough to see almost the entire island. Ah, the nostalgia is overwhelming! :)

I was thinking about going back and replaying the older games. I can handle Ob without issues - but the older ones.... I dunno....

Because of things like MGE (and it's next generation whose name I can't recall) Morroind doesn't really feel like an old game if you mod it right. However... I did everything in Morrowind a thousand times, and there is no sense of anticipation there for me anymore.

I find I have.... not much tolerance for antique graphics any more. Sad of course - because the games were really really good....

Graphics though.....

Well, that's the thing... After MGE and its next incarnation (MXE maybe?) came out, the graphics are generally as good as Skyrim's. With the proper mods, of course. Very few people can tolerate say... Morrowind vanilla bodies for long. LOD, shaders, HD textures, yep, the whole ball of wax. The things that never have worked out well tend to be like horses. As far as I know Mad Max made the only workable horse riding mod, and it was buggy as hell.

Damn, Bal wouldn't have to do a thing to Tier and Var, he'd get them just by playing with any who got close. Argh! *hug* Sis, that was great, even if it pissed me off! Your stories always bring out the variety of my emotions!

Yeah. That - was - a revelation (to me.... and man, when your own tale makes you sit up and take notice.....) - because before Melki stated it so baldly - it hadn't occurred to ANY of us. Not me, not Tier, not Var.

Well, not really "kids", Kane.... Tier's 30, Var's about 35.... Melki's 20 - so not much more than a kid!

Overnight I decided that the reason Melki figured it out was because of what happened to Telka....

86 - Ugh. At least one of us was thinking.

It occurred to me, during the ride back to Tel Mithryn, that had Melki not been so shattered by Telka’s - death - he probably wouldn’t have had the thought that Var and I were about to do something.... that would cause a lot of harm to many people.

So as we topped the ridge and saw the mushroom farm below us, I pulled up, and moved Vigilant over next to Bergos. “Brother mine. Var and I weren’t thinking straight - and that could have been... an even bigger tragedy than we’re already dealing with.” I reached out to grab his shoulder.

He grinned lopsidedly. “Well, sis.... if you two couldn’t see it - but you don’t want to know how much I hated to say that.”

“Oh, I know, Melkioran. It was writ all over your face.”

He shrugged - discomfited. “I really didn’t want to get in the middle there.”

“We know. But thank you.”

We rode on down to the mushroom tower. It was falling dusk. “Look, let’s leave talking to Neloth until morning. We can beg a room from Shaldri, the cook - and a meal.” So that’s what we did. I admit - I was procrastinating a bit.

In the hour after first light, we floated up to the living platform in Neloth’s tower. He was waiting for us it seemed.

“Well well. You are extremely resourceful, girl. So. Hand over those books, and we’ll get you started on reading the others.”

I held up a hand. “Wait a bit. I want to talk to you about something else first. I want to tell you a tale....”

An hour or so later, this master wizard was looking at me - and then at Melki - as if he’d never seen Nords before.

“Apparently.... I have underestimated your race for hundreds of years. Or at least your particular gens.”

This, I suppose - because I’d had to go back to ancient history in the family - Aunt Idgrod, g’ma.... and what they’d done between them. Neloth was staring at us as if he’d never seen people like us before. Well.... he probably hadn’t....

“So. I now see why you wish Mora to help - so much that you attempt to coerce it. I’m not sure....” He went off into deep thought, leaving us to stand and watch.... nothing.

Finally he came back to the lands of the living, frowning. “Girl, I was, in the early years of my existence, a confidant of various of the princes. Mora was not one of them, I’m sorry to say - because of course I could have done so much with the knowledge held within Apocrypha at Mora’s command.” He went off into another fugue-state, though not as long.

“However. I see that you pledged to Meridia, and that you have not cleared the boon you owe her. I think - you’d best take care of that first. Once you’ve done that, return here, and I will see what needs doing next. That may be the reading of the other Black Books, but I won’t know until you’ve done Meridia’s bidding.

“Apparently, no one taught you that you don’t ignore a prince when you’ve accepted help, girl. You should be thankful you’re not.... rotting somewhere worse than that oubliette!” He stomped away, obviously disgusted with me.

I almost fell into hysterical laughter. Mel grabbed my shoulder, shook his head, and led the way out of Tel Mithryn.

At the old siltstrider camp, we set up a small bivouac to make a fire and talk things over. “Melki.... I’m ashamed to admit that I - forgot - about Meridia. I might not be here now - if Meridia hadn’t intervened. And.... I just didn’t do what I should have. So, yes, Neloth-with-the-poker-up-his-rear is entirely right.

“I’m going to have to go fix that as soon as we can get back to Skyrim.”

Yup. All too true. And of course, Neloth is going to beat THAT horse to death.

Heh, and Meridia is already disgusted with "the constancy of mortals" over the condition of her temple...

Nicely done, BTW. :)
