I think that Alduin as Ouroboros, the World Eater in Skyrim fills the place of Ragnarok... The destruction of the world, the death of the gods, and the rebirth that follows. Surely Norse mythology would have a place in Skyrim? |

Yep. But.... it doesn't happen. Because - the Dragonborn comes. Intervenes. Rearranges - the outcome. This is where I have MAJOR issues with beh's devs. |

Myself, I don't believe anything is "written in stone"... I think it can ALL be altered in one way or another right up to the moment of the event itself. Besides, who is to say that it won't still happen dragonborn or no and with or without Alduin? |

Well.... I've always had issue with the whole concept of Ragnarok. Then again... I think we're headed for World War III - due to whoever thought Trump was a wonderful idea as president. Whoever you all are.... I hope you enjoy the fallout.... literally. Eat it and die.. |

115 - Quite a climb! Now, of course we’d just done the Seven Thousand Steps - and until I’d thought about the whole Alduin thing, I’d really not realized the monastery wasn’t the top of the mountain. So da and I set off to find the “real” top - where I presumed I would find Paarthurnax’s aerie. As far as climbs go, this one was a real trip. I remembered g’ma telling about the freezing winds and needing a specific Shout to clear the air, and was really happy that seemed to not be in place any longer! It took us about three hours to reach the level spot that contained one of the old word walls from gma’s stories, and I could see that there really was no other place where a huge dragon could have rested. We walked around the area for a bit, da poking around at things - probably coming up with a song or three. And when I neared the old word wall, I knew. I would frame Talos’s shrine within it’s semi-circle. I walked into the very center, and felt a warmth enfold me, as of arms cradling me close. Well, that at least let me know Talos was happy with this choice. Now I would have to think on materials, and the form the shrine itself would take. I had never cared for the “dragon slayer” look of his shrines elsewhere.... so that would be the place to start: figure out how to include a dragon without the killing part... Da had a frown on his face. He motioned me over. Looking down as he was, I saw the bones of a dragon on a ledge below the aerie. “Oh. Oh dear.” “That would be ma’s dragon I think.” He had tears in his eyes. So did I. |

116 - Interlude This - girl.... child.... well, no. Woman. She intrigues me. I’ve not been interested in anything for so long - I’m not sure how to.... approach this. Her family took no side in the stupidity of mens’ wars. I approve that. Her family - and Tiercel herself - have always given me (and the other Divines, even though I’m the cast-out one) their devotions, and willingly. Unlike the Thalmor idiots, who force devotion on people, this family truly loves the Divines. And.... some of the daedric princes.... I find I’m happy with that addition. So. She will set a new shrine to me - in a place where one of the oldest dragons died. It is good. It matters not what she chooses to use to make the shrine. I will be happy there. |

Talos.... so long down the road.... I thought would not be - judgmental. Of course, this entire thing isn't "lore" - and I never wanted it to be. It's my story to tell.... and thank you sis! |

Doesn't have to be.. Most of my stories have a bit of lore IN them, but I look at lore as history.. and history is fluid.. one man's slaughter is another's decisive victory. You write beautifully.. Lore only matters if you want it to.. I look through the lore to find the history.. |
