Well, they are too! Thanks guys!

neil, I did consider shivaree.... but decided that wouldn't have fit with a quiet if active night on the Silent Mistress!

Oh lordie Neil, my Dad and Uncle actually kidnapped my first husband right before the reception! They dropped him off 3 miles away, in the heat of summer, in his dress whites...

I TOLD him not to ride with my Dad...lucky for him my Mom knew where and had my sister go get him. After he'd walked a mile or so. :lmao:

Uhmm is the "Silent Mistress" the ship she bought?

Heh, did you ever see a movie called "Captain Ron"? A randy shower helped along by a mop handle would have made a decent shivaree all by itself... :D

Course, Shivaree is much more common down South than in Vegas...

The movie stars Kurt Russell (as Captain Ron), Martin Short, and Mary Kay Place (as Martin's wife). Anyway, they inherited a boat that had once been owned by Clark Gable, and the romantic atmosphere caused tehm to decide to play "hide the salami" in the very tiny shower that was aboard.

While they were so engaged, a mop fell over with the handle blocking the door handle in such a way that Martin and wife couldn't get out. Deciding to get out of the shower, they tried to turn the water off, but the handle fell off and went down the drain along with a washrag that effectively plugged the drain. The shower began to fill with water, they couldn't turn the water off, and they couldn't get out of the shower. They had to be rescued by Captain Ron... a humiliating experience for both the husband and wife...

Trust me, it was a hilarious movie... though not so good in the retelling. ;)

It was a funny movie, probably not everyone's cuppa...but I'll watch anything with Kurt Russell in it, lol.

I don't do movies other than Star Wars and Indiana - and anything with John Wayne. And I.... just don't like Kurt Russel. Never have, never will.

Well... I don't like Kurt Russell because he eliminated any chance I might have ever had with Goldie... on whom I had a horrendous crush as young man from the days of "Laugh-In".

EDIT: Never mind Kurt, all is forgiven, but I still rented out your room...

Uhmmm... Kurt Russel has been with Goldie Hawn literally forever. Well, they just celebrated their 34th Anniversary, which is like forever for Hollywood couples. I first fell gor Goldie when she was a bikini-clad go-go dancer on the old TV show "Laugh-In".

As to "rented out your room" It's just a way of saying "no hard feelings, but don't come back anytime soon looking for a home-style welcome."

Well, THIS is a far easier and shorter way to answer that. Aside from a drop-dead figure, Goldie has eyes that are a striking shade of blue, and that's always been hard for me to resist.

My wifey had eyes nearly that shade of blue... Really unusual in a Native American... but I digress.

Oh. Actress.

Sorry. No interest. I don't DO them. I don't do movies or tv crap. Nope. Not going there, sorry.

I read books. And I write. And play Skyrim. Movies and tv can take a long walk off a VERY short pier.

Oh.... Pirates. Them too.... Orlando Bloom....

No offense, Sere, but you know how hard it is to convey or read emotional content on a forum right? Let me tell you a short story...

I had a friend once who would give me a call once or twice a month. He'd ask if I wanted to do lunch, and I'd usually agree... Never hurts to have a friend at the bank, eh? Although he was a vice-president of a bank, he would never have the money to pay for his own lunch.

None of that is germain to the story though. He'd ask what I'd bee doing lately, and I'd usually tell him what book I'd read last. I'd talk to him of Tolkein, L.Sprague De Camp, Isaac Asimov, Andre Norton, Niven or Pournell, and he'd look at me, raise an eyebrow and say "That's why, even with all your natural talents, you'll never amount to anything. I only read Scientific American, National Geographic, and Forbes. None of that fantasy fiction crap for me!".

...and then I'd have to pay for our lunch because he was always broke...

As for me, I'm open to all manner of things and I try not to pre-judge. In the words of the Blind Man, "Each morning, like a scholar at his blackboard, I try to clear my mind so that I have a clean slate for the day to write upon."

To me, movies not seen are no more good or bad than a book unread, eh?
