I don't like movies, tv, or youtube. I like words on my kindle. Your input is - appreciated. But I'm still not going to watch crap on movies or tv or youtube. I don't like it, and it's not.... engaging. In fact it's the exact opposite (aside from the few examples I posted earlier). I'm not entertained by tv or movies (other than the ones I already posted). I'm also not invested in news on tv. Unfortunately.... I'm inundated by that ever day. Sooner husband can't figure out what channel etc. - the better I'll like it. He's not far from there.... So, yeah. I HATE all that total crap. I don't want to hear it, don't want it going on, and believe me - when he dies, the tv is hitting the ground 14 feet off the deck. I HATE IT. |

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to convince you to watch anything, and there is no offense intended. As far as I'm concerned, this is just idle conversation with one question/statement leading into the next. Nothing more. It seems there are few things I actually care enough about to hate these days, ...though... perhaps some days more or less things than others. :) |

Hmmm. Well.... yeah. Thing is.... I've actually hated tv since I quit watching Star Trek in the mid-60s.... It's..... garbage. There's nothing - real - there. Unfortunately.... 90% of Americans LIVE on tv. And - they believe everything they see. People need to get a life. Seriously. As far as hating things though.... beyond common (and it IS common....) tv.... there are a lot of things I truly hate. |

I SAY I hate things... but in reality, what I really should be saying is that such and such a thing annoys me, and I wish it would just leave me in peace. Yep, I had a wife like that once... :D Din't hate her either. (thassa joke, son, a joke, I say.) In fact, I reserve hatred for things like terrorism, ISIS, and the various stupidities many people engage in in the name of God or ideology or whatever other insanity rules their minds. Movies? People who make good movies are no different than people who write books, IMO. They have an idea, concept, or a philosophy they want to share or a tale to tell. ...and of course there are bad books as well as bad movies... :D |

Eh.... yeah, there are bad books. I know how to avoid them. As far as hatred.... I don't label ISIL, terrorism etc with that. For them... I reserve oblivion. |

Sometimes it seems I was born in a perpetual fit of intense rage. Since day one, I've been an intensely militant, violent individual simply by my nature... what that means is that I've always had to choose what I hated very carefully if I wanted to avoid prison, eh? :D In that way, I live in a kind of enforced peace that occasionally gets bent rather than in a state of constant war with everything and everyone around me. My mother said it was the Irish in me, my auntie said it was just bein' a Scot... |

Nice wedding.. and.. after!! and congrat's to them on the impending!!!! I cannot hate.. or even dislike TV or movies you see.. Blue Planet.. I could watch and re-watch it for days. I have scuba dived all over.. I love the under-sea world, it's magnificent.. Water isn't your cuppa you say?? "The Living Planet".. from one celled animals to Elephants and from Alpine meadow's to low land deserts. I will never see all those things.. I will never feel them, but I can walk them in my dream's, because I know what they look like, I know what belongs there... I love my book's.. but to describe a single picture could take a thousand words... |

120 - Finding Beran Ostigow We talked over names for the baby - but made no decisions. Var was actually unsurprised that I was pregnant - and seemed perfectly happy about impending fatherhood, for which I had to admit I was thankful. One never knows.... And then we set out to find the sculptor, one Beran Ostigow, a Breton but born in Skyrim. The notes Var had dug out of the steward’s books had said he’d leased a shed and small house from someone in Dragon Bridge, but didn’t name that individual. So we thought the first thing to do was sail the Mistress up the Karth River to that town, and ask around. Which meant returning to Solitude to the docks - our ship was too deep drafted for Morthal’s waters - but now I thought about it.... we could add docks to the Manor! “How would it be, love, to build the Mistress a good dock out at the Manor? Now, I don’t want to live there again - for obvious reasons - but having the ship that much closer to home would be excellent!” Var grinned at me. “That’s a really good idea, Tier! I’d be perfectly happy to not have to go into Solitude....” “Well, me too! We’ll get that done before long. Probably finish the house first, then set up the dock. Do you think we can sneak in to the docks and get the Mistress out without anyone knowing you’re there?” “We’ll try. I did already tell Jarl Vitkal that I’d be living in and reigning from Morthal not Solitude. He just laughed. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.” “I don’t either. I’ve only met him a couple of times. He probably will be perfectly happy not to have you in Solitude though. He strikes me as a crusty old bastard, not to mention very possessive of his own title.” “You’re probably right. Well, let’s wait until dark, and then get aboard, and leave in the morning.” Good thought. So that’s what we did. |

Hmmm. There's a mod.... adds docks and stuff.... After the Companions helped clear out Movarth's Lair, Baldorn Far-Strider agreed to move to Morthal, became a thane, and moved into the Manor to run the mine. But that mod - might have an inn.... or could be written to have one.... GREAT IDEA, SIS! After all, Tier wants to start the horse trade with Solstheim.... They'll hold High court in Solitude which shouldn't happen too often. Normal business they'll run out of Highmoon Hall. And they figure anyone who doesn't like it can lump it. Thanks Sisters! |

121 - Still looking.... We sailed up the river and Captain Ten-hooks (I don’t know - he wouldn’t tell me) dropped anchor then helped us launch the rowboat. We pulled it up on the bank after rowing across, then headed for the inn. I hoped seeing the place Vintan had - uh - deflowered me - wasn’t going to bother Var. Apparently not. He walked up to the man behind the inn’s counter, and explained what we were doing in town. “I dinna ‘member th’ man. Not sure who might now. How long back?” “Somewhere in the neighborhood of thirty years, give or take a couple one way or the other.” The innkeeper went off into something approximating one of da’s “brown studies”. After more than just a few minutes of thought, he started mumbling over names. Finally - “Ah. Go talk ta Ferith Enishar - she be th’ miller’s gran’ma. Oldest one in town belike. Good luck ta ye!” So we headed for the sawmill. I smiled at the miller, and said “We’ve been advised to speak to your grandmother about a sculptor who lived here twenty-five or thirty years ago. Would she be available to discuss this with us?” He slanted me an odd glance, then another one landed on Var’s face. “Ah. Ye be the High King what just got married, eh? And this be yer lady wife?” Var nodded, probably thankful I wasn’t showing just yet. “Aye. Granny’ll be real pleased ta talk to ya. She’ll get drunk on it ever’ night fer the next century, belike!” And he roared with laughter, then yelled, “Gran! High King ‘n ‘is wife want ta talk to ya!” I kept my face straight with a lot of effort. Took the woman about ten minutes to get down the stairs and out on the stoop. She looked us over for a bit, then grinned - poor woman had only a couple teeth left, she was so old.... “So, what kin I he’p ye wit’ taday, yer ‘ighnesses?” Var explained again. And the miller’s gran went off into another one of those brown studies. Eventually - “Eh, ya. I ‘member th’ man. Hmm. He did a bust of yer da, up to Blue Palace, ain’t?” Var nodded. “Las’ I knew, he wuz still makin’ statues. That’d be mebbe twenty year gone. He moved ta - huh.... Riften mebbe. Er.... town near that mebbe.” Var pressed some coin on her, and we headed back to the Mistress. “You know.... I really don’t like Riften....” |

The country folk in any world are - intriguing to me. Not to mention that - the "brogue" there.... I had relatives who talked like that (all dead now of course) - they lived in AR, MO, and OK. My parents didn't talk that way - likely because they moved to CA in the mid 50s, and then to NV late 50s. And they were both natural mimics - they wouldn't have wanted to sound like "hicks". |

I have, or had, relatives that way too. Southern Missouri in the Boot heel, and Northern Arkansas. It fascinated me as a child, and I've always picked up the speech of wherever I lived or associated very easily. It drove my teachers batty when I went back to school after summer vacations with said relatives. :D |
