I know it's a long way off yet, but we gotta start spitballing ideas somewhere! We've had Dragon slaying, CoW, bandit hunting, and thieves so far... What could be next? Not sure how many people are keen on the Civil War, but what about a Skyrim Unification type round? Complete the CW and Thane of all the Holds? Crime of any sort could be a penalty... |

That sound's like a neat idea... as we are doing a drawn skills round now... a do it your way round next?...but either limited to XX number of skills perked and XX skills as freebies... and/ or scaling multiplier....or ???? |

What about having classes you have to adhere to? IE; Battlemage, Archer, Warrior classes with predetermined skills? |

That would work... but would still have to do the "freebies" as speech is a Thief "skill" so to speak. pick your own "class" ? |

Something along those line, yes. But, they'd have to be battle-type classes, since it's all about war and such. |

Well.. copy paste some "classes"... that way people can pick from among them,, of course other's have to agree on the premise also. |

We like warrior :) Guess thats no surprise! I have not done the CW for five years....so it is like fresh for us. I love alchemy....so maybe archer for me...with 1H melee in tight spaces.....which is close to our current scout build (less block, we normally use a light sheild up close...but weapons block too). Oh...the knight has no ranged attack....at all! Is that intentional.... Edited by Rick, Jan 11 2017, 03:15 PM.

I thought alchemy made pretty good sense for the archer build. Poisons and such. :) |

Well...yes it does.....I'm sure that real specialist archers (as distinct from regular long bow foot soldiers) in days of yore would have brewed a few concotions for sniping....kinda crosses into ninja/assassin territory... |

Looks good... sept, Knights with no ranged.... Lockpicking and speech would have to be freebies. Got a Spellsword build handy? |

Knights in TES don't have a ranged skill. Morrowind: Long Blade, Axe, Speechcraft, Heavy Armor, Block, Restoration, Mercantile, Medium Armor, Enchant, Armorer. Oblivion: Blade, Block, Blunt, Hand to Hand, Heavy Armor, Illusion, Speechcraft |

Shouts could be used in place of bows. Going to have to trigger dragons anyway. |

Sounds like you're going for Champions of Skyrim with this round. You open to some suggestions on those classes Kane? |

Yeah, I think a Knight should have both Smithing and Enchanting, to make up for no ranged attack. That would make the class consistent with prior games. |

I agree thqat a knight should have both Smithing and Enchanting, as they fit the "ideal" of the class. I also think that the Scout would likely have Sneak... |

Ok, no problem adding enchanting. I did all those on the fly. :) Thorny, suggest away! That's why we start these threads up so early. |

Doesn't look bad, Callidus, but there's one thing I wonder about. It would seem to me that the battlemage would be better with a one-hand skill, leaving the other hand available for destruction spells. If the two hand was then moved to be with Knight, it would give a rounded choice for players.

I don't like two handed for the knight. Firstly it makes restoration useless, since the need to unequip the weapon before casting, then re-equip it after makes healing in combat a wasted effort. Secondly both Oblivion and Morrowind gave the Knight block, and sword and shield is more or less a classic knightly setup. And thirdly, the combination of restoration, heavy armour, and block makes it hard to put down. As for the Battlemage, it's blunt force trauma. Both conjuration and alteration put the Battlemage on a timer, either for the loss of bound weapon, conjured ally, or boosted defence. Destruction's mostly there as a ranged option. And it makes for a bigger contrast in style with the Spellsword. |
