The purpose of this thread is to list and discuss the "value" of mods... If you don't agree with the value someone put's on a mod, be nice, but state your opinion. They may have not thought about your point, I know I often use a mod for only part of it's abilities.

The value should be at default settings on default difficulty, this make's it easier for everyone to know just how helpful or difficult it makes the game .

A link would be nice.. also which version and platform. So something like:

- Wearable Lanterns SLE also available SSE for PC & X-box 1
* -1
++ Deadly Dragons SLE
* +2
0 Grimoire ( When used with ASIS) SLE

# Classic Classes and Birth Signs SLE ( checked on a round by round basis)

For Mod's with McM menus all values are for "vanilla" settings... ex Convenient Horses.. Default speed is same as vanilla, their is no "carry weight", doesn't follow, cowardly, not essential... this still mean's the horse is smarter than vanilla so it's a slight advantage, followers get a horse.. which is also a slight advantage... you don't have to wait on them.

When in doubt about IF a mod is a slight advantage or just pretty.. ask, but provide a link..
So guy's what do you think of ( example )Tactical Valtheim?

The mod's will be listed starting in the next box... Kane, Richard, Sere.. Rick.. feel free to add to the list if I have not gotten to it!!

Edit: for mod's like Grimoire and Apocalypse Magic by themselves they are a "advantage mods".. but add in ASIS and they become Null, as NPC's can also use them. This is something to think about... Do NPCs use the mod... is it a leveled mod ( meaning you can't get Deadric armor at lvl 1 as a matter of course. )

I think we perhaps need another parameter for some mods. I'm thinking of mods that might give a probably acceptable advantage in certain competitions, but a totally unfair advantage in others.

And example would be Classic Classes and Birthsigns. In an all-skill competition, this mod would provide an advantage, because of early higher class skills, and the extra "birthsign." But in a skill-limited competition, it would be totally unfair, because a player can create a custom class with the selected skills all raised.

The mod also can add an extra permanent "birthsign" in addition to the skyrim standing stones, and doubling up on both "Atronach" signs makes a character totally magic-immune, including shouts. That, I think, goes into the territory of "unfair for competition."

So a mod like this would be usable only on a per-case basis, and with restrictions.

+ makes game harder

- gives the character an advantage

0 Null , Another mod makes this equal...(ie ASIS giving spell's from Grimoire or Apocalypse to NPC's spell mod must be used)

# Mod that has to be looked at on a round by round basis..( IE Immersive College of Winterhold.. for a "warrior" type round it gives no advantage or disadvantage, but in a "mage" round it gives the player Advantage)

For the # mods once it is looked for that particular round.. it's given the correct symbol for that round.. +, - or 0

and of course if one wants to use a mod, but isn't sure post the mod with a ?

Run for Your Lives SLE -

When Vampires Attack SLE -

I assume the above work on SSE without the MCM debug capability, but I don't know.

ELFx (Enhanced Lights and Fx) SLE + (reduced visibility.)

Left Hand Rings SLE, SSE - (adds enchantment slot)

I think "Left Hand Rings" should be in the - category; they provide an advantage.

yeah, definitely.

I also think SkyUI should be a - because using the "groups" you can switch groups of clothing, armors, and weapons almost instantly.

I disagree about SkyUI on the basis that
1. Nearly everybody on PC uses it anyway, just like USLEEP
2. There's no actual advantage, since time stops when you open your inventory anyway.

Those are pretty much why I didn't post them in the advantage, it's also doesn't make it harder.

Of course it we get a lot of response that it's an advantage, we will go with the majority.

I've run into what I think is a bug in the SkyUI group thing. It happens if you put an improved item (let's say a Fine Iron Sword) into a group, and also have another unimproved version of it (plain Iron Sword) in your inventory. Sometimes, when you switch to that group, the unimproved item will get equipped. It doesn't happen all the time, but I've had it occur several times.

I've noticed it particularly with dual wielding characters. The wrong weapon will be equipped in one hand.

So I don't generally use the group function.

What about a mod that has positives and negatives? IE; Immersive Jewelry - it adds more options to wear additional enchantments, but it also makes mining and resource gathering a right pain. 12 weight units for 1 iron ingot is a huge difference from vanilla.

Kane that is one that someone would really have to look at.. To me it has slightly more Minuses than Pluses... it allows for extra jewelry worn, which mean's extra enchant slots... it's often expensive to make some of the higher end stuff, but also sells for more...

I play Legendary Edition exclusively because my computer is a potato and ready for upgrading, but here's a scattering of some I play with almost every time (all have been previously deactivated during competition)

Herbal Tea SLE -/? This mod provides an alternative to alchemy for a number of effects, so would provide an advantage to those wanting some of these perks without using alchemy. Worth noting though that not all potion effects are translated through, but the same consideration could be given to any mod adding food options could it not? Many of the more useful potion effects are in vanilla food already though, so could be neutral

MoreHUD SLE - this one is a permanent addition to my non-competition mod-list, but I do uninstall because while I don't think it gives a huge advantage, it does work as a time saver in showing encumbrance, alchemy effects and other information without faffing through menus

floating healthbars SLE - again, more convenience than anything, but allows much easier monitoring of who can be taken out quicker/easier and if a companion needs help

Better College Application SLE -/? arguably should have been in the vanilla game, but this mod allows the PC to actually be tested on the school of magic of their choice as opposed to a random one. Also provides a set of novice robes for that school, as opposed to the generic destruction. Not really an advantage since it's just giving an item that can be found in loot anyway, but it's all in how one uses it.

Better Fast Travel SLE 0 This mod provides more options for fast travel to/from various cities and villages, but is generally a bit more expensive (price based on distance, not if there is a stable or not) and can be customised to exclude all but the vanilla city options if needed

Common Clothes SLE 0 This mod adds extra clothes mashups and armours to the levelled lists. All that i've seen have been pretty low level, balanced cost stuff, but I use it mainly for a slightly different looking mage and a bit more variety in townspeople clothing. Multiple options available, some with no armours included, some craft only...

Immersive College of Winterhold SLE ? This is a largely aesthetic overhaul of the college, but there are a number of features one would have to avoid using. The other members now have research scattered around the whole college providing experience when interacted with and the the greenhouses are fully stocked with a large assortment of plants. The "master trainers" also hold lectures between 9-11am, which bequeath LARGE (customisable) amounts of experience, but I think that can be deactivated or at least minimised by reducing values in MCM. Avoid these 3 things though and it's just a pretty overhaul :)

Poncho.. I'm about to go to bed..soo... I'll look them up in the morning and then add them in.

I already have Immersive CoW... it's a # round by round case. I'm not adding in ones that are definitely 0's... the list would get way to long ( unless Kane can add in another post right after the 1 & 2nd ones??) but any that might be questionable those I will add in...cause ...

RE; the Immersive Jewelry, the more I think about it, I'd consider it a negative, IMO. I'm close to removing it for the simple fact that the added weights to some items isn't really feasible. It took me three trips to get the iron out of Halted Stream Camp. :ermm:
