(snip)

@neildarkstar: That's why i linked from the moment the battle started, so you don't have to watch the whole video.

Yeah, I noticed that, and I appreciate it! ...However, it started about an hour and a half in, and apparently had an hour and a half or so to go if one watched it all. :)

I didn't hear the robes being switched, but that's because I'm deaf in my left ear, and I can't hear (well) out of my right. A gas can blew up in my hand. It took off my thumb, muted my wife, bill collectors, and the IRS... all while teaching me to fly... ;) I love that gas can...

The first video started at the last boss in BFB. The whole fight is done in 2 minutes.
The second video in at Fort Frostmoth and the whole dungeon is cleared in 30 minutes. The last battle was fun, too bad that General Falx Carius missed the battle (he was paralyzed 90% of the time :lmao: )
These videos are full-lenght videos. Every video starts where the previous stopped and most contain more than one quest/dungeon. I will create the short versions like i started to do with my warrior's videos sometimes in the future.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident.
On a side note, every man wished at some point a muted wife...

I don't believe I've ever had a character who changed clothes in the middle of a fight! :D

Seriously, I came up through roleplaying games that penalized you for opening your inventory during combat. The Elder Scrolls are some of the easiest games there are, because of this stuff.

"Wait a second, Boss! Time out! I'm going to level up now, which will restore my Health and Magicka, and in the process, I'm going to select a perk that will make my next axe-blow to your head 20% more destructive, and I think I'll stop and put some poison on it, too. So, just stand there and wait, Mr. Boss."

Well, roleplay or not, in the end it's a fantasy game... meaning that what is or what is not possible is limited only by imagination and abilities of the devs, modders, and of course, the players themselves.

Let's be honest, how real can you get in a world with functional magic, where physical interaction with Daedric Princes and the Gods themselves is perfectly normal eh? I think for most of us, if we wanted reality we'd go mow the lawn. Personally, I tend to think "How can we make this more of a fantasy?" rather than "How can we make this more realistic?"

The challenge is to play a role in a fantasy world where anything is possible... while accepting that reality has no bearing whatsoever on the character's situation and responses.

In my view it's not about whether or not the fantasy can be forced into a version of reality, but whether or not reality can be forced into a version of fantasy. I can level up in combat because I can... I can change clothes in mid-sword swing because I can... and that is the reality of the fantasy, eh?

That's the reality of your fantasy. :) The beauty of the game is that we can all play it our way.

So, I guess that, for you, a mod that allows a quick change of clothes in combat is an advantage, if you do that. For me, the same mod isnt any advantage, because I don't do that.

And that's where we get into the weeds on all of this.

Well... as I said...honor system. ..if it's an advantage mod for "you", but not for someone else or it isn't this round... then that is the way you put it your mod list. IF I was to use it...and I'm careful not to on any character that uses Alchemy. .. Willows bug would be a HUGE advantage mod... but I never have and I don't use any bugs for selling when I have had it....

Rick would go spare over it... but compitition wise ...not.

Those of us on PC could console command in a chest of everything ( or rather two or three chests) and pick our wardrobes from that. .. but we don't cause that's cheating....in competition. ..

The Mod Values on the fist page are guidelines. .. heck we could all play in God mode and no one would know... but ourselves. ..

Sure, but what Neil and I are talking about is really how we really personally view these +/- things. And, to some extent, it just comes down to what's fun for us.

I tend to keep my game fairly simple, just adding mods that make the world look better to me, enhance my personal story-telling, and change some things that make Skyrim feel more like previous games. Some of those mods are certainly advantages, but I don't use them to make my gameplay easier.

I know... I just wanted it pointed out that those are guidelines. ..not set in stone.

I'm fussy about my characters looks..and the environment. .. the challenge in different bad guys... not a perfect game or story ... the surprises make for a better game imo.

Y'know.... it's all honor system. So nitpicking the +/- modifiers doesn't seem "in the spirit of the game"....

True Sere, but I think our goal is more toward introducing variety of play to stave off the competitions from becoming the same-ol-same-o and to help with future competition themes. That is, having a list that everyone has hashed out with regards to difficultyishness will allow us to one day have as an example an UBER competition. Where Deadly Dragons is set to Expert, Immersive Creatures is dialed up and every player is afraid of their shadow, just for the fun of it!

Have you all ever thought about a regular competition, where everyone comes up with what they want in the character...and then trade? Like maybe a drawing to see who gets what? Then play the competition with that character. Of course, you can make them look however you like, but stats and such are from someone else's head.

Just curious.....
