Andra... I don't recall a round like that... not in the past yr or so anyway.

:D some people like roller-coasters, some like the flume ride... I like both, but carousels make me barf...

I always wanted a full size carousel from the early years of the last century - restored to it's glory....

Quote:

Ride ride the carousel and reach for the golden ring
Never to finish but begin again - life is a circular thing.

And I wrote a poem about something similar - but since it's much longer, I'll post it somewhere else maybe.

Yeah, but it would make sense if I had the same reaction on roller-coasters. ..but them I can ride all day, I miss my son. .. Michael doesn't DO roller-coasters. ...hmm well he's coming out sometime in the summer... I see a trip to 6 flags!

I used to operate the World's Largest portable roller-coaster... I detested everything about it! The only way I rode it was when I was on the clock and being paid.

Carousels are okay, I guess, but... sooo boooring... Like watching grass grow on a circular lawn... :) I like the Paratrooper (ran one of those too, with a guy named "Long Tall Sally" :) ) and I don't like Ferris Wheels. I don't like being stopped at the top, because it makes me feel trapped, like I can't get out.

Carousels make me happy... They're a door to somewhere else....

Roller coasters are something some devil invented.

Adopt a horse!
I'd love to.... but that's pretty expensive, what they're asking (of course, those figures are if you want to name the horse).... I could probably send a hundred in the next month or so....

Boy I'd really love to go back east and see it. Even 10 years ago we could have - but now, well, it's just not a thing we could do. Especially now.

That's complete bummer... I love to watch them, it bring's back magical memories... I have always wanted to buy one of the "new" re-make's of one of the old horses... they sold them a lot in the 80s.. but I never could afford one.. <sigh> Eventually I'll get one.. if Michael can spend a 1k on a dog.. I can on a piece of wood!

I'd looove to have this guy in my "game room"

Yeah, I always wanted one too - I had a "paint it yourself" one I got when we still lived in Vegas. Unfortunately, it came with some sort of resin "coating" on the plastic, and I spent years trying various things I looked up to get it off - because you couldn't get paint to stick over it - never could get it done. Finally gave it to BB&S in SLC when we were up there one time.

I should have paid the other hundred for the wood one.... *sigh* It was unpainted too - but of course it wouldn't have had the resin issue.

I could make one of those (I'm a hand carver and woodworker), but the time involved would be astronomical.

There's a reason that carved items like that are very expensive. A self-employed woodworker has to make about $25 an hour to justify staying in business, and a horse like that would have several hundred hours of work in it.
