One possibility would be to allow Six perked skills, plus Speech, plus a seventh, non-perkable skill, which could be Lockpicking or any other skill. For instance, somebody might want to use Enchanting for that skill, just to be able to recharge ench

We have voted

Yes to 20 yr prep time, but some details need finalizing.

We have a NO for houses, but Yes for Alternate start "home owner" ( might be a bit confusing)

Complete Vanilla start get's a 500 point bonus... exactly what is that vanilla start?

Minimum Start difficulty for using prep time is Expert, with 1 Master and 2 Ledgendary

Multiplier ....

360 and PS3 players may use prep time to get Thane of Whiterun and buy house ( you may use any difficulty)

Alternate start... PC

Start date....

It will take me a minute to get all the questions up.. and I may not before I have to leave for work...

I know what yer thinking... about the poll anyway....lol

Okay, NOW I'm a bit confused... I guess my question is, "Complete Vanilla Start"... that's only for the bonus points with no prep time, eh?

"Minimum Start difficulty for using prep time is Expert, with 1 Master and 2 Ledgendary" Okay, minimum difficulty I understand, but "1" and "2" means... what?

Finally, I don't care where an alternate start starts... because I don't really know much about alternate start mods.

Neil they are all up for vote... I took the last poll and took those things that seemed to be "top" and put them back in for clarification...

3 people voted on Expert to be the minimum start difficulty to use Prep time.. 1 person voted Master and 2 voted Legendary... so Expert look's to be the minimum to use Prep-time.

To get the 500 bonus points one has to use the "cart ride" start...
and by the voting so far, no prep-time with an alternate start

First and foremost thank you Areial for taking the time to herd all of us cats toward a start time with a set of rules/conditions to use! :hugs:

Second, I agree with the sentiment that we're complicating things right before the start time.

I voted for prep time starting the 4th because some folks (like me) didn't have a clue that we could use time up to the 4th as prep. All of the following blah blah is just to explain the "why" I voted the way I did. If everyone's prep time starts on the 4th with our starting point of our character it lends to a more consistent reporting of game play from all players. That is, playing on Master I can give updates as to just how long it's taking to get to "semi-safe" questing, others playing on Adept or Lower will provide updates more of getting the competition job done already. I think this is valuable in evaluation of our choices of difficulty and prep or not prep. I think what has made this competition set up difficult is we are trying to evaluate the incorporation of mods. If we all have as similar starting point as possible (e.g. everyone that wants to prep starts on the same day) it will help us on the back end when we're evaluating how everything meshed, what worked and what didn't. ;)

I agree wholeheartedly that we should SOGOTP! :teehee: Where is that chamber pot anyway?

I put it in the Out house... cause... smeeeeeellllllY

I'm going to use a couple of "executives" cause, it's close... and we need to get everything up and going...

By Vote majority has already started... So, I won't over turn that BUT... By Friday ( Sah time) IE tomorrow evening 10pm US, CST at the latest Richard or I will get up the "official Thread" IF you have used Prep time, you must post your normal entry, stat's and variables ( which includes Mod's, build and...thing's I will probably think of later)..

Spoiler tag's please!

Because of the timing... Official Start to 40 hr's for non-prep time people Feb 4th... but as it IS a late getting word out.. Running for 3 weeks ( or until all entries has reported complete or dead) so Ending Feb 24th..

I'll get a list of the "rules as voted on" in the next-ish posts... I was working on an update to the rules on Beth.. so it might be a copy paste..

Their was something else... but I haven't had enough caffeine to get the noggen running.

Sounds great Areial! Suggestion: have the post here first with all the formatting so you can tweak it up to look just how ya want it, then copy/paste to bethsoft for consistency. Makes a world of difference to peeps if what they see there is what they see here, might even bring a few more of them over. :D

Bram... :thumb: only I had already started their...so... But I am going to do it that way.. I have a couple more thingy's to put out...but am running behind myself this AM...

So here's what's there..:

General rules for this round... all other DiD rules apply ( except the where to start ones)

* 20 hr prep-time
- 360 & PS3 allowed to get Thane of Whiterun and buy Breeze home
- Other platforms not allowed to do any Thane or C.W. quests
- must be Expert, Master or Legendary to use Prep Time
* May do an "Alternate Start"
- Inn Patron, Left for Dead..
- May not use Alternate Start with Prep Time
* 500 Bonus points for "Complete Vanilla Start"
- No bonus points when using Prep time

* will be using our Standard Multiplier this round
Legendary - 1.75
Master - 1.50
Expert - 1.25
Adept - 1
Apprentice - 0.75
Novice - 0.25
* You have 6 "perkable Skills" Based on Classic TES builds, plus Speech as a Freebie and a Freebie of your choice...
- freebies ARE NOT Perkable.. you may use them without incurring penalties.

Some have already Started their Prep time, but as we are a bit late in getting started... Official 40 hr's may start Feb 4th, but time will run through Feb 24th.

Points will be given for:
C.W. Quest's = 1000 pt's each
Thane Quests = 250 pts each
Being Thane = 500 pt bonus ( once you buy the house )
bounty = 100 pts each

Penalties for using non-build Skills..

* 5 point grace on non-drawn skills
-250 for each point that accrue's for the 1st 10 after that, then -500 accruing for each point their after.
(ex: Alteration if it starts at 20 for your character)
21= 0
22= 0
23= -250 points
24= -250 + -250 = -500 points
32= -500 points plus those accrued already
33= -500 + -500 plus accrued points

What Prep Time is.. it is the time when using higher difficulties that you set the characters skills.. ie mine, smith, enchant, gather all ingredients fight whatever.. But you may NOT do any Thane Quests, C.W. Quests or Bounty Quests... knowingly... ie we all know that selling veggies to a farmer "helps" them.. so don't do it... IF you happen to open a chest and it has a Named item in it.. don't pick it up.. ( I would however write down what you found and where... )

Remember their IS only a 5 point grace in leveling up non build skills.. so be careful which helpful quest's you do to be helpful..

More on next post!

And I need to add a few thing's I know... I'll get there!

I know this is really stupid of me, but for the life of me I can't figure out what the hell a "Thane Quest" is, how to tell when I've done one, or how to tell that it IS one before I do it.

"We ALL know that selling vegetables to a farmer helps them"... Really? That's news to me... not that I ever sell them anything anyway, but... damn. Is that a thane quest? I do know that to become thane in most holds, you have to do things for three people AFTER you've done the Thane Quest, and you can tell that you did it because it counts them down.

Generally though, I thought a Thane Quest would be like cleaning up the Jarl's bandit mess in Falkreath, or vampires in Morthal, or changing the Jarl's chamber pot in Dawnstar... Or is that killing a giant? I'm so confused... :shrug:
