After a recent discussion with neil, Saki and Trace et al....about mod issues on console I decided to do a little test! I have been using a mod called "Enhanced Night Skyrim" I know Andra and others are familiar with this one. Its relatively harmless as mod installations go and should not cause problems. So get this....... I decided to end the mod since the nebula across the night sky was getting old for me and I missed not seeing the little moon Secunda. One......made a save....disabled the mod and reloaded. Nebula still there! No changes. Two....actually deleted the mod. Reloaded the save.....Nebula still there....no visible changes. Three....hard reset console and checked again....yep Nebula still there. Four.....started brand new game....the whole cart scene plsy through untill we got outside the cave. Waited ten hours untill night time. Guess what.....bloody unreal....Nebula still there! I kid you not.......with the mod now deleted and running a new game...the Nebula from the mod was still working. That can only mean that the mod is still stored in the machine after deletion from the load order....in fact it must still be in the LO What is going on? |

I'd chalk it up as consoles not being optimized for mods. PC's have tools to handle latent mod issues, but I doubt you'll see them on consoles. |

When you say you deleted the mod, how does that work on Xbone? Reason I ask is besides the *.esp and *.bsa files there are other files like textures and meshes that may not have been deleted. If those are still there they would over-write the vanilla texture/mesh just by being in their respective folders.

Consoles have no facility to view or separately delete textures from meshes...it will not give a file ext like .bsa or .esp all you get the the name of the mod listed and its little picture as shown in the mod library. Without access to the game files or even console commands we are blind and impotent. If the mod does not do as expected and a hard reset does not cure it.....the only other option is a tool mod thet resets the vanilla settings...but then you lose all mod changes. It's most odd.... |

It's not really "odd" - it's just the way Sony and MS have set up the consoles. It's the price you pay for playing on consoles, even with mods allowed. |

As I mentioned to Rick in the other conversation, I seem to have remnants of OBIS, and some weather mods flitting around in the background on my game. In my case though, it's not severe, and I find it rather interesting since the effects are much milder than what I got out of the entire mods when they were active. Of course, I'm on PC, and could take action if I really wanted to. |

Much as I dislike the Beth.net forums, maybe somebody there could give you some ideas to help, Rick. Worth a shot anyway. |

ITS GONE ! Yes.....the glowing nebula is gone.....the stars normal and I have my cute little Secunda moon back. What did I do differently.....nothing! It simply required several shutdown and restart cycles with the mod "deleted" to finally clear it out....phew! But that was an 'easy' mod to remove....like I said the Beautiful Mistress Skimpy armour selection is still running as if it was in my Load Order! Any other problem mods? Hell yes! I have tried "Realistic Detections Lite" which ramps up the detection ability of npcs....so sneaking by them is much harder. However, a bad side effect is the npcs (eg a draugr) will still give you the fully open eye 'seen' reticule in sneak....even when you have ducked behind cover for minutes in a shadowed nook three rooms away. Or vampires continuing to detect Adella complete with red dots...when shes gone into an inn and hid in a bedroom for a long time. So what? Well....while 'detected' it counts you as being "in combat" meaning you can't sleep, use carriages, or use smithing equipment, or alchemy benches or do ore mining! Pretty irritating when the npc is effectively gone, but still 'detects' you for a very very long time. Not a mod I would recommend...its just impractical. Also....to be fair....I am only assuming its the RD Lite mod doing this since that is its function...despite being disabled in my Load Order.... Edited by Rick, Feb 17 2017, 06:33 AM.
