Very nice Turija - yes, I'd seen all those, but having just specific parts all in one mod is a really good idea! Um. Yeah - I'm pretty sure you can't "unsee" something like a male nord (with beard maybe) wearing any of that!

Nothing might like the feathers, but... I wonder if the guy wearing white feathers knows what that means?

So, maybe your Nord guy with flowers was going to San Francisco, eh?

You have to understand of course that it's different from tribe to tribe, but in general a white feather indicates either a coward or a "girly-man". If a man runs away in battle, he's said to have "shown the white feather".

Bearded Nords wearing white feathers to San Francisco. That's too funny. Reminds me of that old Mammas and Pappas song.

Interesting that "showing the white feather" seems to have a similar meaning as a raising a white flag or throwing in the (typically white) towel.

Among Native Americans feathers have many meanings (again depending on the tribe). For instance, all those feathers you see in a chief's war bonnet might represent the number of times he has "counted coup" on an enemy... or how many enemies he has killed, or even how many battles he has taken part in.

The difference between a white flag and white feather would be in degre, I suppose. One, the white flag, indicates surrender (that may be honorable) the other represents throwing down your weapons and showing a-holes and elbows as you run away as fast as you can... and is never honorable. :)

Interesting that white is so associated with defeat.

I wonder if the Native American feather symbolism arises from the behavior of whitetail deer and rabbits, both of which show a "white flag" while running away.

The "white flag" is also a blank flag (blank meaning white just adds to the confusion here) indicating that you operate under no side's colours, and wish to be treated as neutral, which my be during surrender negotiations, or not.

Of course, "blank" actually means "white." From the French, "blanc." :)

Anyone use Better Followers? I see it's out for SSE, now, and I was thinking of giving it a whirl.
