I have always liked Sah's tips ;) Now, Adella had a massive progress surge last night.....we got all proactive and unnecessary :D We saved progress at the temple of Mara so I can go back later and to the stacking tests with Agent of Mara and Lord Stone without hindering our game. Then we went on to do Tom's recommendation of Avanchenzel.....I have to say that even with AR 600 it would still be dodgey to go melee toe to toe with two Dwarven Spheres at once! Also those damn spiders were 'shocking' and we had no dedicated shock resistance other than one potion. But the loot....OMG! Enough Dwemmer metal to smelt 114 ingots! Adella, sporting Ebony attire at the Avanchenzel Balcony chest, where we stored the goodies while Adella ran to Riften to get Dapple. Posted Image Some of the many spoils.... Posted Image Back home....with the Warrior Stone re-activated plus 'Ancient Knowledge' and with Adella's 57 accumulated Ebony ingots and maxed smithing gear (33%ea) and potions (139%) we set to work. Gods...that Diano Daedric armour just gives m'lady awesome huge booby woobies........it's a good job I have to see her from behind most of the time cos I sure as hell can't concentrate with those in my face :D (AND she knows it....the teasing hussey). In minutes her smithing had gone from about 84 to 100. Cleaned out, exhausted, but with a big smile we left the Lakeview forge in a Legendary Diano Daedric outfit. Next day...we had to re-acquire the Lord Stone...so a quick run over there...bash the bandits (well why not!) and take the blessing. For your amusement.....Adella's level 40 Stats Update....opening with taking out the new bandit crew at the Stone :) https://youtu.be/xn_RYI8V7lI NOW we will go to BFB :D Edited by Rick, May 29 2017, 07:19 AM.

Indeed, Sah is giving such good tips and anyone following her example will get far. I can't do that because it would break some of my own rules and i'm not willing to do that: - No stealing (i know, it's like an obsession to have 0 stolen items) - No buying crafting materials: soul gems, ingredients, ores, ingots, pelts, leather, strips. There are exceptions like flowers from Sofie, a Daedra Heart for Atub, a Black Soul Gem for Fallion.... I would never sacrifice a perk point for elven weapons. First, the skyforge steel weapons have the same damage but are lighter and second, i don't like the look of elven wepons and armor. Now, let's get to the next chapter: The Silver Hand Last time i cleared Valtheim Towers for Farkas, now it's time to receive my Beast Form power. Fast forward through the ceremony and we get to Gallows Rock The irony is that i came here to kill the werewolf hunters and i almost got killed by a werwolf (i couldn't stagger him at all). After a lot of running back and waiting for my health and stamina to regenerate, i manage to kill Krev the Skinner. I left Gallows Rock behind and headed for Mara's Eye Pond in search for that Steel War Axe with soul trap enchantment. My next goal is the Stereoroom and this means i have to cross all the volcanic area. On my way there, i stumble upon Lucky Lorenz and the Abandoned Prison. Last time i went there there were only a couple of ghosts, nothing out of the ordinary, so i head inside. The first two ghosts weren't a big deal, but then i came across the boss. At first i wanted to give up and leave, but the i though "f'k it, lets bring out the heavy guns and see what happens". After a little scouting, i returned and barely made it, even with Berzerker's Rage. Another close-call was an ambush set by a saber cat and four wolves. If i ever hear someone saying "mindless beasts", i'll sent him to have a little chat with that saber cat... The rest of the video is not that interesting. I went to the Stereoroom, then to Narzulbur to smelt down the metal, then i mined a bunch of ebony ore (i didn't use a torch this time  ). I finally got to Witherun and i used all those Dwemer metal ingots, rising my Smithing skill to 50. With Orcish Smithing unlocked, i had enough Orichalcum Ingots to make a piece of armor and a shield. I misscalculated a bit and i could only improve the Armor, but i'll get all my set later. My next destination is Riften. Aela sent me there to "steal" some plans and i have to talk to those Greybeards. Dinya Balu is expecting me to pay a visit as well. A.D. I love both Sah and Rick's tips.. though neither would work overly well for my play style.. but it's always good to keep them in the back of my mind.. just in case I find I need them. |

Well done AD! Adella rarely steals anything too.....unless shes in the TG of course then its no holds barred. Now I used to have a specific mercantile policy of no selling potions to regular traders, only khajiit and alchemists....plus a policy of not buying metals from smithys.....which all made good RP sense. But since we brought in the 'no paid for training' rule I decided it was no longer meaningful to be overly tough with the money making. As a result, Adella has traded a lot and now sits on 97000 gold.....coin is just too easy to make in this game. So why am I not too worried about the ease of making gold in a hard core game? .....well because this is about surviving the game....lots of coin won't save your neck if a fight turns sour. But lots of coin helps buy the filled grand soul gems for enchanting and ingots for smithing....I think screwing the cash generation down tight would just be off putting and turn the game into too much of a hard slog. Now Adella has just killed Sahloknir with Delphine.....which brings us upto date video wise....so now I can make more new videos....starting with Diplomatic Immunity at the Thalmor Embassy.... yay! Trace, thanks for noticing I have good tips too......chuckles ;) Sah for smithing...Rick for alchemy. Edited by Rick, May 30 2017, 10:11 PM.

We have now "caught up" to the point that we had last produced videos in the Contessa's previous playthrough. So this is a new video.....Diplomatic Immunity https://youtu.be/cgaOxGl6YJg I had to trim a lot of the "unpleasantness" from the part where she finds Etienne chained up and helpless. Well....you know what she is like. At least she still set him free afterwards...Adella is not a complete monster (Just sometimes too damn close tho'). We both thoroughly enjoyed the carnage with the Thalmor. Do you know...just days ago they sent a Justiciar execution squad after my girl and caught her out on the Tundra. Thank the gods for good strong anti-shock potions. Yeah...those arrogant Elves won't be seeing Alinor again...Ha! |

Rick, Nice smooth run though the Thalmor, and good editing to boot! :thumb: I do have a couple questions. I noticed on this, as well as your previous Diplomatic Immunity videos, that after you give the guy a drink so he will go cause a disturbance, you always get another drink from the waitress. Is there any particular reason for that, or just some extra loot? I was also curious, why you never use a bow in situations like this, or anywhere else for that matter? That is actually my preferred weapon, as I like to hide in a corner and snipe off enemies before they get close enough to do much to me. I know your one-handed weapons hit like the hammer of Thor, but I would think that you could smith/enchant a bow up to the same level? Oh, one last thing, has anyone ever tried actually telling Ellenwyn what their name is? Just curious what happens, do they put a bounty out in ya?!?!? |

Volstag, Thank you, I do try to make the edits as seemless and natural as I can....but only having 15 minutes for the final clip size and starting out with around an hour of raw footage....well.....we have to do more than just give it a trim ;) The reason we get the second drink is for the trophy chest back home.....it is Colovian Brandy....unique to that mission I think. Plus on the RP side....the Contessa loves to relax with Brandy and a fine cigar in the evening. She would love Cognac in our world ;) Oh Adella's bow was pretty good, around 350'ish, but it is about speed and the Waraxe hatchet is very quick. Plus some of the Thalmor inside are kind of lurking around corners....you don't want to run into their face then have to start trying to loose arrows off. The Waraxe is better up close. We could tell Elenwen, Adella's name....no problems in game.....but RP wise a total disaster. See, she already had to dispatch a Justiciar execution squad carrying orders signed by Elenwen. To face Elenwen and say "Oh hi, I am Adella...remember..the one you tried to have killed! Pleased to meet you!" Cover blown! So instead, we try to play it for real.....as best we can! Now, Adella has been to Riften and escorted the old chap to safety. He sure can shift for an Octagenerian ;) (Volstag...There is some bow work in Falkreath toward the end :) ) https://youtu.be/6ulqCZiFuVk Next up...the mission that got her killed last time....At Karthspire! :) Edited by Rick, Jun 3 2017, 08:52 PM.

It's looking good so far. I hope you'll get the chance to fight that dragon again. I did uploaded a video two days ago, but i didn't had time to write the (short) update. I know the plan was to complete the quest for Aela, The Book of Love 1 and climb the 2000 Steps in one go, but it didn't go as i planned. The main reasons are the required time to explore the area east of Riften and the limited carry capacity of my character. Instead i visited Fort Dawnguard and started the questline. I arrived at Broken Helm Hollow as instructed by Aela and killed the guards outside, then i searched for the treasure chest that was shown on the piece of map recovered from Lucky Lorenz. I was lucky to find a pair of bracers of eminent wielding (30%). I planned on using Light Armor way later, after i have my One-handed and Two-handed skills to 100, but these are too good not to use them. The leader inside was quite a tough one and i had to use Berzerkers Rage to kill her. She was wearing heavy armor, but was agile like a light armored fighter, so i think she had the Conditioned perk (more about this on Bethesda.net). After i took the plans, i visited the Vigilants of Stendarr nearby and took the path east and ended up right at the border. There, a kahjiit attacked me without apparent reason (maybe he was trying to smuggle in some moon sugar or skooma). After this little encounter, i headed to Fort Dawnguard and joined the forces against the vampires. |

Nice update AD. Enjoyed the BHH battle too. If you had not had Beserker Rage and started before she awoke....that chief would have had you....or chased you out again. She is one tough cookie...tho' often a male too. I have lost playhours to that chief before and always get the cold sweats before the confrontation. They are one of those foes who can suddenly do the one hit kill on you! Yeah...I invariably find an aggressive foe right at the end of that road....it must be a world encounter point. I have to say AD.....that you eating into this trial with only a heavy melee guy is really well done. Impressive. :) |

You can see from my first try that she took 2/3 of my life in one swing. That's when i knew i can't beat her without Zerk. I still have a lot to go. Smithing is only 50, Alchemy is 70+, but i won't rise it again until i get my one-handed skill to 80+ and Enchanting, i haven't even began to train that skill. It isn't long since i got my soul trap enchanted weapon. Additional to those above, i also plan to train Two-handed and Light Armor skills. Edited by After Dark, Jun 4 2017, 05:31 AM.

I'm an absolute slug when it comes to moving! I just can't seem to develop enough coordination when I get excited in battle to find the right keyboard buttons to dodge, and move. I guess that's why I usually play a heavy armor tank, just stand there and trade blows! I like to sneak with the bow, because with the 3X perk, I can oneshot most of the lesser foes before they even know I'm there! I dunno how many times I've wound up in the situation you describe, where a foe pops around a corner, or I run into a boss that I don't take out with the first shot. Next thing you know, I'm standing there shooting arrows point blank, and taking lots of damage! It worked pretty good on Adept, but I guess now that I'm playing higher levels, I actually need to learn how to move! I'm downloading your last video as I type. I have a slow connection, so streaming HD doesn't work well. Of course, watching the Contessa in anything less, is unthinkable!!! |

Thanks Volstag and Trace :) On the subject of controllers. I had a good chat with Sah about controllers vs keyboards...she uses keyboard and mouse.....I have an XB1, so controller. Here's what I found. Keyboards have lots of very convenient command at a single quick button press....particularly 'hotkeys' which make for smooth uninterupted game play whereas my controller only has effectively two hot keys....used to switch from axe to bow without 'menu'ing'. However, controllers allow complex smooth rotational movements as the char is travelling because the camera is on a separate stick to the back, for, left, right movements.....and where the char looks affect the direction. So I get a very natural looking movement. Sometimes you move both sticks in same direction... somtimes in opposite directions....but its almost subconcious operation like using a stick shift in a car. Most importantly the degree of movement is proportional to the exact amount of stick movement....kinda like how a car's speed is fine tuned by a slight squeaze on the gas peddle. Secondly the char graduates from imperceptable walk to full run depending upon forward pressure on the stick so Adella can break into an almost trot than ease back to a shuffle the back to a slightly faster trot leading into a run. This looks really 'real'.....Adella doesn't just stop at a door....she slows naturally in the last few feet and comes to a very genteel rest. On key board it is more a case of hit the 'walk' button and the run instantly becomes a walk. On balance.....whilst I would love the 'one tap' record and like Ten hot keys for load out combos......I could not bear to give up the very human moves that I help Adella to perform as naturally as breathing. Use both Xbox controller and Keyboard simultaniously I forget I have it most of the time.. and I don't use it much except for some animation control, I never did use the hot keys... I don't even have it in my load order atm... |

I actually have a 360 controller for my PC, I've just never tried it with Skyrim. With the keyboard, it's soooo nice having 9 hotkeys. From what I've read, the aiming for bows is also more precise. One of these days I'll give the controller a try. It would be a huge change in game play of course. Whether or not I'm coordinated enough for that to be a good thing, remains to be seen!!! :lmao: |

Archery IS much easier.. and for me, it's soooo much easier to control the characters.. but I know some people are very good with mouse and keyboard.. it's not intuitive for me, the controller is.. but as I started playing on a 360.. it would be. |

We faced that Revered dragon again. This time we had prepared well to contend with his Drain Vitality shout, but in his dying moments he almost fried m'lady with a good old fashioned 100 points/sec flame breath. She swam to safety and whilst recovering sought some light relief ending a couple of Thalmor soldiers. The large Forsworn contingent at the encampment afterwards were a pleasant desert :) Well....here it is https://youtu.be/V_GqzsYJcXA :) Edited by Rick, Jun 6 2017, 12:25 PM.
