Exciting stuff AD...thanks for the links :)

Adella progresses on....Having been saved by Kaaaaarliaaaaaah......she now needs to get Gallus's journal brought before the guild to show up Mercer Frey for the duplicitous murdering scum that he is.

Follow the unfolding tale in 'Gallus's Journal'

Contessa Adella cajoled Mercer Frey's watchdog into letting her into his Riften home. She then delt swiftly with the goons left guarding the empty place and found his secret plans. Odd that he left the plans out on a table....how arrogant of him to think the Guild could not get to them. With the plans now safely in the Guilds possession, we know Mercer's next move and where.

See Adella practice her home invasion in "The Pursuit"

Bryn and Adella have now been 'made'. The stealthy dark Nightingale armour looks pretty cool....but how come the girls don't get capes? Must be a mod armour refitting at work..shame.

Anyhow....here's the ceremony

Next is the scary bit....Irkngthand :nails:

A quick stats update at Level 55 before braving Irkngthand
:)

Adella was lucky to survive that damn place....the Falmer Warmongers...hoo boy. Dozens of them...poisoned weapons, hardened armour. We had to disengage a few times to recover. Anyways, that video will be next...don't miss the fun!

I finally have some spare time to write this...

Last time, Serana came to Fort Dawnguard with her Scroll and now i have to find someone who can read it, but first, a little side trip to Mara's Eye Pond with Aela to recover another Totem.
After a short stop in Solitude, i headed to to Dragonbridge. A guard said that the Moth Priest headed south across the bridge. I found what seems to be the carriage and escort of that Moth Priest. Some vampires have abducted him and now i have to clear a whole vampire lair before they do something permanent to him.
I saved him from the vampires and told him to go to Fort Dawnguard. I would like to escort him, but i have other matters to attend. Sorine needs that blueprint.

Someone should tell this guy never to challenge and orc to a fist fight, especially one that grew on the back alleys of Cyrodiil...

The third Totem of Hircine was in Morvat's Lair, a pretty dangerous place...

Back at Fort Dawnguard, i see they added another layer of protection. A tall fence that you can't bypass. It doesn't have a gate, but you have to use the small gap that's guarded.

The Moth Priest made is safe to Fort Dawnguard and we could soon get to business.
The strange thing is that Serana didn't gave him her Scroll, but a duplicate!? Is that even possible?
Anyway, the prophecy in the Scroll tells about a world covered in darkness and a weapon that can make this happen, but to find it's location, we need 3 Scrolls. I already have one and Serana have the second one. She thinks that her mother, Valerica knows where the third Scroll is. We're going to look for clues at Castle Volkihar, kinda risky is you ask me. If anyone sees us at the bridge...

I gave Sorine the schematics for the Enchanted Crossbow and now she wants to test this new weapon...and she located another one i'll have to fetch for her.
Both Gunmar and Sorine said that we'll need the help of one of their old friend, Florentius, but only Isran knows where i can find him. Isran also heard about a vampire playing as an adviser to a Jarl Balgruuf's court.
But all these tasks have to wait because Serana won't leave my side, so off we go to Castle Volkihar...

The vampires are becoming more desperate to capture Serana. They attacked in broad daylight at Riften Stables.

After a long crawl through the Undercroft, we finally reach Valerica's Lab where she created a portal to Soul Cairn. The problem is that i can't enter without giving up something precious. Since i would rather die than become a vampire, i chose to give up a portion of my soul to grant entrance. Hopefully it will not be lost for ever.
We found Valerica, but she's trapped behind a barrier. The only way to get to her is to kill the three Keepers. There's also a dragon roaming around in Soul Cairn, so we have to be careful.
Out of the three Keepers, the ranger was the hardest to kill. I almost died there. The second one, near Reaper's Lair, was quite easy and the third one had a lot of adds.

I visited Ripper's Lair, but i need one more gem fragment. When i left, my game crashed to desktop (i have to admit that 4 hours and a half are a bit of a stretch for my computer). Luckily i had one good autosave.

With all the three Keepers down, it's time to get back to Valerica and take that Scroll, if only it would be so simple...
The battle for the Boneyard was brutal. Durnehnviir is a tough opponent. Valerica said that he may not be dead and she was right. He was waiting for me just outside to have a "chat".

Apparently i'm not the first living person that came to here. Hopefully i can leave this place before i turn like this unlucky visitor. At least i don't have to worry about the part of my soul i gave up to enter the portal...

I found a lost soul called Jiub. He's a writer, but he lost his work and i have to find it for him. There are 10 pages in total.
After i gathered all the pages, Jiub gave me his first volume to take it with me and share it to world.

I returned to Reaper's Lair with all 3 gem fragments and defeated The Reaper.

There was one last thing to do before i left this place for good: to release a trapped horse ghost. His owner taught me how to call him. Too bad i can't do that because it requires magika...

Back in Tamriel, i had two ways to get back to mainland. First, the obvious way was to take the path back trough the Undercroft and the second was to use the Balcony and jump from the tall bridge. My mage girl discovered by mistake that she can reach the water with the Bats ability (she was aiming for that pillar), so it should work just like that with a 3-world WW Sprint.

On my way back i pass by Northwatch Keep. First the guard tells me to stop, then he tells me to move along. If such decisions are so hard for him to make, i'll make it easy for him in the future...

Back at Fort Dawnguard, i found some refugees camped outside. They weren't very happy about the situation, but if they wanna stay save from those vampires, this is the best place to be.

More bad news waits me inside. Dexius is blind now and can't read the rest of the Scrolls. He told me of another way to read the scrolls and Serana agree to wait me at the Ancestor's Glade. This gives me time to attend other important matters before heading there.

One of those tasks involve finding Florentius. Isran told me he's at Ruunvald Excavation with a group of Vigillants of Stendarr, or was it Vigilants of Minorne? Those journals were fun to read.
Finally i've met this Minorne and killed her. Florentius was locked in a cage nearby. He sounds just a crazy as Sidrey, but the voice in his head is on my side, so he'll join the Dawnguard. I gotta give some credits to Isran, i don't trust him either.

Next stop is at Lost Knife Hideout where i found another dwemer blueprint for Sorine.

The last stop for today is back home at Whiterun. Jarl Balgruuf needs to know about the danger in his court, but he asked me to bring him proof that the advisor is a vampire. To obtain that proof i would have to use pickpocket and that's way out of my character and my skills. I'll have to find another way to deal with that vampire...next time.

See ya.

Thanks for the heads up AD. Revising this before tackling the DG will tell me at least what to expect making it a bit less scary. :)

Thanks.
There were just a few minutes from the entrance to Reaper's Lair to the exit. Luckily the crash occurred when i left the Lair not when i enter, so i didn't had to redo all the Soul Cairn bit.

Now, if you mean the moment when i sit there, starring at two gem fragments floating, wondering why the Reaper hasn't shown up, that was, indeed, too much. I didn't do it again when i reloaded :lmao:

I am currently completing the TG, but am a bit confused....does anyone know the answer to this....?

Situation: We did all the quest line stuff, but not the city jobs. At the end of the Nightingale quests and having pleased Nocturnal we returned to the TG expecting to be told that to be made head of the TG we must complete the city jobs....but no! It seems Brynjolf is happy and no one mentions the need to finish getting the TG reputation up unless we question the job givers, Vex and Delvin, directly.

It seems the TG is completed......without the city jobs?

Anyone else find this?

I think the city jobs are all radiant, so they don't show up as quests until they are given. that means you can move on without doing them.

As Neil said, they are all radiant... Now I would think it depends on what you consider "done".

For me personally it's not "done" until all possible thing's are done.. ie at least the minimum of the radiant quest's to get the "rep" back.. all the vendors.. and the book's for the Bar Keep....Looking into any possible quest's for my "brothers"..

Understood. But is our TG 'Destiny' to become head of the TG now complete....or not? because the earlier implication in the dialogues was that you HAD to do five city (radiant) quests in the four big cities followed by a special 'Reputation quest' in each of the four (24 quests in total) before you could be 'crowned' head honcho.

It appears that without having done any of those radiant jobs, Adella IS now head of the TG.....confused!

Maybe we should just knuckle down and do them regardless....just to be sure.

BTW.....this is now officially my longest ever continuous run...topping over 400 hours....and we are just half way there....four destinies down four to go!

Edit...ninja'd by Tracy,
Trace, I am inclined to agree since the TG side quests can be done without breaching the Trial rules. However, to complete a destiny means to become the top person (eg. Arch Mage...Harbinger etc) in the organisation.....side quest are not a requirement to reach the pinnacle of the questline...unless "built in" to be so. It would be impossible for example to do some of the mages radiant and ritual quest extras without breaching the 'no magicka use' rule.
But it seems Adella is leader of the TG without the side quests which I thought were essential to get the title.

The way I understand it...and that has happened with me, is that as the radiant quest's are done, more and more vendors show up in the Ratway.. when they are all done, the "reputation" is restored for the TG... the PC get's the title and the quest-line is done.

This is what the Wiki says: Upon completion of the main Thieves Guild questline, a Shrine of Nocturnal will appear in the Ragged Flagon - Cistern. When all quests are completed, the furniture in the Ragged Flagon will be completely replaced with more upscale variants, along with additional furniture and decorations.

So... up to you.

Ok,
We will do them, the mistress has spoken! She doesn't mind the extra work.

I will get them done as fuss free as possible.....since I do have concerns about the growing size of her save file.

Right must crack on with her Irkngthand video....damn thing is 45 minutes...I can't allow it over 15 for technical reasons. So it's either edit it viciously....or split it into two AND edit it by a third....

Last time I did the TG, Brynjolf didn't make the character the Guildmaster until she'd completed all that radiant quest crap. And that's actually one reason I hate doing the TG. That time I just console-completed it all to get on with it. I just won't do it any more period, even though I really enjoy the Karliah parts.
