A small video

Whats the significance?

Well, when someone who does not 'do' heavy armour and has zero skill in it suddenly insists on going heavy at level 43......you just know that's trouble in waiting eh!

Oh where oh where is my sweet little Ranger girl? She of nimble grace and fleeting feet. A dancer in leathers, a breeze across the battle..... :(

https://youtu.be/Cg8CL7-o9e4

I can scarcely believe it myself, but who am I to stand in the way of.....her!

Ah,
Getting back on track again. Progressing the MQ with plenty of hot action (vampires, trolls, ice wraiths, dragons and old guys in grey robes) and some greatly edited down ramblings from dear old Parthy.

https://youtu.be/Z4tZyJJElbw

The Contessa is upto her old tricks again....the sick puppy. She has acquired a tool that literally ties up captured bandits and makes them follow her.....into her underground 'special room' from which none emerge!

She doesn't get that from me! .....well, you know what I mean....I don't have the stomach for that kind of thing. Thank goodness she has not been quite so active on that score of late, but then I do try to keep her busy with questy stuff.

Pressing onward.....

The Contessa delt with a named dragon, visited the CoW and then found old Septimus... A deal was struck with wiley half crazed mage and the location of the scroll revealed.

But the seeing is more entertaining than the reading of it.

Yep, hurts plenty right now....not to mention one very pissed off Contessa is stubbing her cigar on my cerebral cortex!

I know where I failed.....resistance potion time expired....

So yeah....feeling pretty stupid and very guilty for letting her down (really).

So um' 'Sorry Adella, you deserve better' :face:

But we will go again....it's DiD right....it's what we do

I feel your pain bro, but I just have to ask... Did you see where she landed when she came down? I use an extended death cam mod, and I once went from High Hrothgar almost to the bottom someplace around Valtheim Towers (I think) over the course of several minutes...

Thanks Kes.

Neil....no, the auto reloader kicks in, in a few seconds taking you back to the last save....not that it helps us any...<sigh>

Never mind....plenty of time to get it right before TES VI comes out....years probably.

You meet Alduin twice in the MQ of course...both are really dangerous encounters, but I mean we have managed it before.

Of course completing the MQ is only one eighth of her total task ahead....the Thieves Guild is frought with game finishers so is Dawnguard.

The Trial IS an enormous undertaking. Which is kinda what pissed me off with some of the fatuous comments made in the recent Beth threads on it. One guy said the whole Trial was no big deal cos he did like one mission with no potion taking and survived with no reloads....well good on him...but the entire MQ?....then the entire TG, the entire CW, CoW, DG, etc

No matter....they just try to get under the skin for the reaction. Which I guess worked or I'd not be mentioning eh! Look here I am rambling again!

Gotta go.....laters guys! and thanks for the kind sentiments :hugs:

Sorry for the loss, Rick. 275 hours!!?!?!?! Wow! I know you'll be back at it soon enough. Are you participating in the Nekkid Nord Run? I've missed the last few rounds, but am in for this one. I hope you join in.

Hey guys,
Well the Contessa is back in the saddle ;)

Here's her new vid of the opening scenes 'Unbound'

http://youtu.be/p-FNtX2jkZ8

Edit....this is a redone start as at 1st May....but nearly the same...I mean there is not much latitude during the whole Helgen thing....

Still trying to figure out how to add the linky to Beth.net forums....Done :)

@Volstag...
Ah, the maxed out Waraxe.....didn't dent Alduin that much though!
Trade secrets now..
1. Its Dragonbone ... best material
2. High one handed skill
3. Legendary smithed as much as it will take
Improved with the strongest smithing potion we can make (139%)
Improved with the best Fortify Smithing Apparels we can enchant up.

THEN wearing the strongest Four pieces ( since vanilla only allows four) of Fortify One handed apparel we can home enchant.

No exploits or mods to do it....just pushing vanilla capability to the max :)

Cheers
Rick

Looks like everyone is starting fresh and with the new rule regarding Quick Reflexes i may start fresh as well. Another option would be to find a mod that allows me to reset my Block perks. I don't know any console command that removes a perk.

I've been playing with the .INI files and h.264 compression settings and i manage to increase the stability of my game to 4 hours+. At least that's what i thought, the second video ended with a CTD at ~ 2 hours mark. Time to wake up Virtual Dub to fix that video...

Now, let's get on with the big update.
I realized i was using a named artifact :ugh: - Amulet of Kynareth, so i removed it right there. I know you can find more than one, so it's no quite unique, but it's still a named artifact.

Next goal was to get my Smithing to a decent level, so i headed to the Dwarven Stereoroom to get some materials i needed. On my way there, a Dragon attacked Kynesgrove.

I took everything i needed from the Stereoroom and headed to Narzulbur to smelt the metal.
Inside Gloombound Mine i almost got myself killed by some gas explosions (i was using a torch to see around). I tried to lit the oil on the ground with the torch in another location, but it didn't work, so i guess there was a gas pocket that exploded. This is the first gas pocket and this is the second one.
When i left Narzulbur, i got to the gold ore veins nearby. Usually there should be Ice Wolves up there, but this time i found 3 Ice Wraiths. I manage to slip away from them with the gold ores.

I visited some Alchemy Shops searching for a Daedra Heart (for Atub, not crafting), but i couldn't find any so i headed home to spend some time smithing.
With my Smithing skill to 55, i can drop the Warrior Stone and take the Lord Stone.
I didn't had a horse to distract the bandits there, but i had an Ice Wraith
In my search for Orichalcum ore, i got too close to a Dragon's nest. I expected to see a Blood Dragon, but this one was a Frost Dragon. He almost killed me so it's time to run.
I headed West to Morthal and since it was close by, i also went to Ustengrav. The only real danger were the two Draugr Wights.
At the end, where the 3 stones light up when you pass by them, my character used Whirlwind Sprint twice in a row. I wasn't able to reproduce it again.

After another round of shopping for Daedra Heart and arranging my library, greenhouse and garden, i decided to head to Dawnstar and complete Pieces of the Past quest to get the heart i needed, but Lady Mara had another plan for me. At Windspeak Inn, a priest was waiting for someone to help him. I didn't trust him first, but when he told me he's a priest of Mara, everything became clear.
We killed the 3 Ice Wraiths guarding the entrance and headed inside. This is where i found, not one, but two Daedra Hearts.
After he destroyed the Skull of Corruption, Erandur offered his service to me, but i already got my reward, so i'll let him rest and turn this place into a temple dedicated to Lady Mara.

I went back to Largashbur and i found it again under siege by a Giant. We killed the giant and i gave the Troll Fat and Daedra Heart to Atub. She summoned Malacath who sent Yamarz to kill the leader of the Giants that invaded his shrine. Atub asked me to do anything i can to help Yamarz, so we headed to Fallowstone Cave where the Shrine of Malacath is.
On my way there, a group of Cultists were waiting for me. It didn't end well for them...

Inside Fallowstone Cave, we killed 2 giants and a troll, but we finally made it to their leader, Shagrol. After we defeated him, Yarmaz turned on me and tried to kill me. This fight lasted for more than 10 minutes, but in the end i managed to kill Yarmaz.

Outside the cave, two Vigilants of Stendarr were fighting a Vampire Nightstalker. I wanted to help them kill the vampire, but i hit by mistake one of the Vigilants.

I went back to Largashbur and gave Atub the sad news. After that, i returned home and worked a bit on my Alchemy, Smithing and Enchanting.

Stats:
Time spent: 35 hours and 20 minutes.
Level: 31
Skills:
Spoiler: click to toggle

After Dark,
In Adella's Beth thread.....she apologised for the confusion....and pointed out that since you had already got underway with the QR perk its would be only fair to retain it until such times as you restarted....or found a way to remove said perk. Hopefully all the rule discrepancies are ironed out now, but do say if you forsee a rule clash with a quest requirement so we can discuss it.

Clarification.....the rules state no unique items....most unique items have names. However, as you pointed out the Amulets of the nine divines are named but NOT unique. Since they are not unique...you can use them even if they are named. The bonuses are small in anycase.....not life saving!

Hope that helps.

I just had to restart Adella's run due to mod issues.....drives me nuts. Hope its sorted now.....
