Areial had stated earlier (I'm not certain where) that hoods would be okay, just not robes.

I kinda want to bring something else up as well. (all right, who groaned?)

I've noticed that when I return to Helgen after the bandits move in, I can kill them all steal all the loot, but the "cleared" flag never shows up, and it doesn't show in my dungeons cleared count in data.

I just got done clearing Fort Kastav (no easy task under these rules) and the same thing. No cleared flag, and nothing added to my count. Has anybody else had this happen, and can I add them to my total at the end?

The forts.generally don't shownas cleared. I've always assumed this is due to the civil war, but really I have no idea. Ariel did mention this early on that they would need to be manually accounted for.

Glargg, somewhere or t'other, I did.. but yes to hood's, no to robes...

I know it's kinda weird, but it fit's the Nekkid thing...and it would give an advantage to mages that melee would not have.

Good, this is consistent with what I was thinking we were doing. :)

I'm seriously considering going against the prevailing trend, and doing a Breton or Altmer magic-only character (like Destruction/Conjuration/Alteration or Destruction/Illusion/Alteration) and hoping for the luck of the draw in finding tomes.

Testing in progress.

I was testing a nord 2-hander and doing well, wandered into halted stream camp and was doing ok...until I learned that shooting the drop-urns of death with sparks isn't a good idea. They explode in the air, so the trap full of oil is completely negated and you suddenly have an actual fight on your hands....ended up chased into a corner by a half-dead bandit chief....he scored a glancing blow as I zipped past. Considering carrying a bow for the purpose of traps....as long as it's not used on enemies it won't raise the skill, right?

hmm I think that's the way it works.. pretty sure, I would test that though.

fell to a 2 handed restless draugr this time....still trying to get a handle on the actual weapon reach for 2 handers, it's well known the reach is far in excess of the blade length :/

Hjalti is my crash test dummy right now, thinking we may switch to a sneak/archer/one handed loadout, see how I do with that one. Hopefully better since it will not require ACTUAL contact with the opponents most of the time...if I do it right

Strong contender is a Breton (named Cora Napple) with Conjuration/Archery/Sneak. I got the Bound Bow Tome at level 2, using Atronach Stone and Breton Dragonskin to deal with the mages. The Familiar makes a decent distraction.

Hopefully I'd pick up some more Conjuration tomes. I've found two "wrong" tomes so far (Candlelight and Fury.)

That's why I'm thinking melee, easier to find things... I thought about going with destruction, I like the flame cloak & runes on a melee character.. Flame cloak need's the right perks to really be effective, but against the dead... it's good anyway... add in a weapon that gives fire damage.. and Boom.. great way to go, but you have to have the right stuff for it!

I went and picked up "Flame cloak" off the beach last night. I'm trying to figure out how long it might take me to reduce the cost enough to make it usable... Right now, it's 246 and I haven't added anything to my base 100 magicka yet with my test character. Tubasha the Tester is still only at level 6 with six hours in.

Heh, six is a magic number just now... She's been in Skyrim six days, is at level six, has 6000 gold, and has cleared six dungeons.

I did the same thing... picked up Flame Cloak early.. cause, it's really dangerous up in that area.. well.. hmm w/o Immersive Creatures it might not be AS bad.

I kinda got there by accident. I was chased off a mountain by a Wisp Mother, herded through labarynthian by Frost trolls, chased by bandits who I laid an ambush for... When the first bandit ran into the ambush through a narrow passage between rocks, I barbecued him with flames... Only somehow an Imperial Courier had gotten there in front of the bandits, and it was him I roasted.

So I wander into Dawnstar where the guards all attacked me on sight for cooking an Imperial Courier, which I kinda thought they might give me a medal for. Nope, no medal, but all the arrows I could carry... It'd be nice if they'd give them to me a little slower next time, eh? ;)

So, down the beach I go and spent the night in the Mara's Amulet tent before going down the beach the next day to where the flame Cloak was.

Yeah, actually, while the Bound Bow seems a powerful thing in theory, it really needs all three skills (Conjuration/Archery/Sneak) to work together. That makes the character too "specialist" for this run, I think. I'd have to pick up Flame Atronach somewhere quick, to have a functional dungeon diver. (Too many line-of-sight problems for a purely ranged character.)

We'll see. I'm testing several characters. :)

As long as it matches up with your chosen skills. :)
