Oy, neil. I didn't remember you did mods. I honestly have no clue about how to do it, but seems like it should be doable....

Not to derail the current conversation, here's a 3 1/2 minute video showing the average run of how things go with my test character Tubasha. She's at Redoran's Retreat in the video.

Tubasha at Redoran's Retreat

All Tubasha took was about 60 to 70 gold, a few tomatoes, 5 bottles of ale, and Amren's Family Sword.
It's probably the hair, but I couldn't help having flash backs to Barbarella while watching Tubasha bring the smack down on the bandits. :lmao:
I'm not a Jane Fonda fan, but that strip tease in zero gravity was... OMG!

I never enjoyed riding bareback in the nude. It always made my thighs itch... Now, with a riding pad, that's a different thing entirely. :)

Nothing about riding nude is fun. If all you got was the itch.... well, your family jewels are probably cheering.

No.. Valley of the Horses was Darryl Hannah.. that's Bo Derrik.. it's from Bollero..
Spoiler: click to toggle

It was a pretty good movie.. for a rated R.. sex thing.. which.. I could have done without, but I LOVE the horse scenes and their are a lot of them... Spanish Andalusians and Arabians mostly...

Definitely requires careful placement of one's assets... ;)

On our ranch, clothing was optional. the neighbor's daughter used to come over and join me. They lived about a mile and a half away as the crow flies.

Anyway, one day her daddy got kinda upset about the whole thing, but her momma smoothed things over right away. yeah, she looked at us to kids and said to her hubby "Well, if she gets pregnant, 'way out here nobody will ever find the bodies..."

You know... I didn't sleep much as a tween- teen.. and I errr "watched" a lot of late night TV while reading..

<snort> I remember one night I was reading "The Stand" for the 1st time, had the TV on, had watched part's of "Beauty and the Beast".. said the next show was "Snow White".. never paid the least bit of attention to the TV.. I love The Stand.. my stepfather came into the room ( Florida room, it was the furthest from the bedrooms.. so only place to watch TV late night) and asked If I was watching the program.. I shrugged and said "No, change it if ya want".. bout that time, I looked up.. and..errr yeah Snow White and 7 naked Dwarves.. but that is actually how I watched Bollero the 1st time.. it was on after a few other shows.. and I looked up intime to see one of the "horse scenes".. hooked

Hey guys,
I have been away awhile but check in feom time to time mostly to read the stories. I see the current dilemma on the next competition and I see opportunity to really spice up this round with just a simple conceptual tweak:
1. Play the round as a werewolf wearing the CURSED Ring of Hircine. Scoring starts once you have the beast blood and the ring. Points for dungeons cleared and gold accumulated. The selling of items is critical because it will force you to go into towns and sell never knowing when the next transformation will come.
2. Swap out destruction in favor of archery (better options for found items)
3. Tempering of weapons allowed, no forging (or not, this isn't critical and won't provide much benefit anyway)
4. No shields
5. Dump pickpocket altogether

Final skills:
2 handed
Archery
Block
Smithing (tempering only)
Speech and lockpick freebies with no perks

The proposed scoring of 1 point for dungeons cleared and for each 1,000 gold seems fine. Scoring starts after Beast blood and cursed ring of hircine are obtained. DID rules apply at this point. Expert level once the games.begin, but you can lower difficulty to speed up getting the ring and beast blood.

Here is the inspiration for this competition. I proposed this for a competition on the old board:
Tamriel Vault - Vargr

There are only a couple of differences in the build from what I have proposed. Sneak, speech and archery are all unperked. Some armor is allowed, but no cuirass. I say no armor, but could live with unperked archery, sneak and speech (and lockpick).

That is a good idea for a round.. not sure it fit's the Nekkid Nord Idea, but it is a good idea.

The werewolf thing sounds like a good idea for people who like that kind of thing. I don't, but, of course, not every round is going to appeal to all. :)

So are we going to start over and go from
Quote..from Glargg...
To me, the whole thing would work better if it were modified in this way:

1) No Armor ( except shields)
2) Found items only ( except armor)
3) Most Dungeons cleared.
4) every one on the same difficulty "Vanilla"
5) No buying, but selling is allowed (Speech is a "freebie.")
6) 1 point for each dungeon cleared
7) 1 point for each 1000 gold accumulated
8) Pick (and name) your own skills (maximum of 5)

This...and talk about that? The only thing I would like to add is either ONE craft only OR tempering, filling and using only.. no creating... at Expert, crafting isn't really needed.

Rafer... you know.. Mel, was joining the companions.. two reasons.. the immunity to Sanguine Vampirus .. and because used right.. Werewolf form could be a good weapon...

Its not against the rules.. as it IS "vanilla".. I've joined before for the immunity, but generally not the werewolf form..

As Glargg said it's not to everyones taste.. and I try to hit a happy medium.. It's like VL form and doing the DG.. was never against the rules, though I don't think many people used it. I know I didn't, but I didn't DO that side of it.

Edit: Glargg, Neil.. I think that part of our problem is that all three of us are more Role Players than errr "competitors" If ya know what I mean? We need reasons.. not just goals... winning isn't the "fun" part.. playing is...

or at least that's how I feel about it.. I don't care how "hard" a game is, I need a reason for it.. not just an end-game goal.

I think we should use those modifications, and I have no objections to your additions regarding crafting. I think you need to clarify it a bit though.

I wouldn't have an objection to a werewolf run, but I don't think it fits what we're doing this time around.

As to role playing, that's it exactly. A character needs a reason/motivation that is tangible if one is a role player. Since generally speaking bandits, automatons, and draugr don't come out to the roads to harass you, they don't really provide a motivation either.

EDIT: Aack! Right after I made this post, I opened the game and played for a few minutes, and thing started getting a bit... weird. I closed the game, restarted my computer, and... none of Tubasha's saves will load. The loading screen comes up, but when it's done it's instant CTD.

Guess I'll have to start over, thank goodness she was a test character, eh? :)

neil, make sure all the masters are checked and loading. That sounds like something's not checked in the data files list.
