Posted Image The competition has begun! You will have forty hours or three weeks. Deadline is May 19th. ---------------------------------------------- Fill out the competition entry form below with your info, and post it to join us! (Player Name) (Character Name) (Race) (Gender) (Difficulty) ---------------------------------------------- General Rules - Starting point is from no later than the first tower (with Ulfric and company). - Mods are allowed, see below. - No reloading previous saves, even if character did not die (unless a glitch occurred). - No map based fast travel. Boats and carriages are allowed. - Once in Helgen Keep, DiD rules apply. - Update at least once every 3 days (if possible). - You may restart your game (restarting/starting point is from no later than the first tower [with Ulfric and company]) or create another character after you die. (Various forms are: Human, Zombie, Wraith, Ghost, Shade, Whisp [Every time you die, you must drop down at least one difficulty level, if possible.]) - You must level up upon attaining a level, at the first safe opportunity (cannot do it in combat). You need not assign perks immediately. - The player highest score is the only one that counts for the round, meaning someone that has become a Wraith may win over a Human, if their score is high enough. - You cannot make skills legendary. - Quest companions like Serana and Barbas have to be taken directly to their quest destination, with minimal side trips. - No exploits. See list below for the common exploits. Ask if you are unsure about one that you've found. In the event of disagreement, a majority of the players enrolled in the round will decide. - Be honorable and don't cheat. We do this for fun! If you feel that someone is competing in an unfair manner or cheating, send a PM to the competition host or a site Administrator. Rules specific to this round: - You can sell items you salvage as loot or find. - You can pay off bounties accumulated. - You cannot purchase anything. (This includes horses, training, and player homes.) - Renting a room and riding in the carriages is allowed. - No armors or shields are allowed. ---------------------------------------------- Forbidden exploit list: - Fortify/Restoration looping - Follower/Trainer exploit - Training against helpless or harmless opponents (training block against low-level opponents [like mudcrabs or wolves], sniping at self-healing trolls from a safe location, sneaking behind NPCs just to raise Sneak, etc.) - Spamming of skills in no-risk situations, just to raise them (Muffle, Clairvoyance, etc.) ---------------------------------------------- Mods Mods will be allowed once again, but only texture mods or clothing re-placers. Anything that gives an advantage is expressly prohibited. ---------------------------------------------- Skills A competitior may choose three skills of their choice, with Speech, Block, and Lockpicking as freebies. - A two point grace will be given for skills that are not allowed. - If you raise a skill not chosen or given past the two point grace, you will incur a penalty per each additional level. - A 250 point penalty will occur for each level that accrues (after the two point grace), for the first five levels. After that, a 500 point penalty will occur for each infraction. Limited crafting is also permitted in this round. - Smithing: You may temper weapons only. No weapon or armor creation! - Jewelry crafting is permitted. - Alchemy: You may use potions and posions. Eating ingredients is allowed. You cannot brew any potions or poisons! - Enchanting: You may recharge weapons or staves. These are the mods I have loaded for the comp. Let me know if any need to go for the show and preferably before it snows! P.S. Potions is a texture/model only change (gives me little pots instead of the unrealistic vanilla ones that you'd need a cart to pull behind you to carry them all.) The only one that adds in game objects is 88 Willows butterlies, but since we are not crafting they're just there for aesthetics. ;) Spoiler: click to toggle

Hey Lapuaboy! Modesta now has company... Tubasha fell to the three "soldiers" at the big rock between Whiterun and Valtheim. She killed one of them, but the big orc and the mage double-teamed her. She was about 5 hours in, level 4. She had cleared Embershard, Redoran's Retreat, and Valtheim. I was really kinda pissed, and I didn't bother to track her score. It wasn't much in any case. Really, I shoulda known better than to play her when I was sick, but you know what? I'm going to restart, and I'm STILL sick... :gun: So, RIP Tubasha, and long live Dread Zombie Tubasha Female Orc 2 hand Destruction Block (and she's intent on hunting down some "soldiers"...) :) I'm sure to everyone's relief, I won't be redoing the Helgen video episode :D Edited by neildarkstar, Apr 29 2017, 08:12 AM.

I actually found time to play yesterday amongst the going to town, because the mum needs to "get out" twice a day every day, picked up a new irrigation head gate (lovely 18 inch galvanized steel spring load & manual) and of course there were over a dozen "come fix the TV requests"; poor mum hits the wrong key and can't remember how to fix it (makes me sad man), but I hugs her a lot! <3 and I found to time to make the meals so she eats right, wheeee what fun. ````````` X'innabar the Breton left Helgen armed with an Iron Great Sword and a Long Bow and scurried to Riverwood ahead of Ralof. Whacked a couple of uncooperative wolves along the way, but he made it. Faendal greeted him with a warning about a Bard whom X'inn was only too happy to help foil having overheard him speak so rudely to his own mother! X'inn took the opportunity to temper his bow while waiting for Ralof to catch up (he just couldn't stand a walk to Riverwood with him chatting along like some Argonian Fisherman). After the meet and greet with Gerdur X'inn dropped by the trader and delivered the letter to Camilla. Faendal was going to be pleased at the outcome. X'inn sold what he'd carried out of Helgen to Lucan, but made no inquires to the fight between him and his sister.....maybe later. X'inn was in need of a pickaxe and what better place to find one than the mine he'd passed on the way to Riverwood. He'd been hoping to ask a local miner for an extra, but much to his delight he just needed to de-cap a few bandits to find one. He mined the two ore veins in the front section, but decided to wait to lower the bridge and proceed further into the mine. He'd be back, but he had a message to deliver. X'inn arrived at Whiterun and made his way to the Jarl. You'd think these Nords had never seen someone in summer attire. "Naked, naked, NAKED! One child cried out." X'inn only laughed and went on up to the palace. He delivered his message, but left before any more requests or comments about his attire could be made. He agreed to run an errand for the court wizard, but had no need for his wares. The potions in his knapsack that Arcadia had rewarded him with for his delivery of the frost salts would come in handy. X'inn paid his respects at the Hall of the Dead and was able to help the local priest, Andurs, find his Amulet of Arkay. He even got an Ancient Draugr Greatsword out of the deal which was better than his iron one. With the copper ore he'd found up above the nearby meadery and the iron ore he'd gotten from the mine he was able to smelt a steel ingot to use in tempering the new greatsword. Adrianne was happy to buy the iron greatsword from him as that would be one less weapon she'd need to make for the Imperials. X'inn decided to take a trip to Riften as he'd read in his early days that a Temple of Mara was there of some note. The priestess there started him on a Pilgrimage in understanding the goddess of Love. He took the carriage to Falkreath and checked in with that District's Jarl. He was one egotistical fop, but X'inn asked if he had any work. In true egocentric fashion he sent him on a mission to get some mead, Black-Briar mead to be precise. X'inn smiled wickedly inside as he handed over the bottle he'd found in the Helgen cave system. This priss would never know the difference of fresh or not. Spoiler: click to toggle Three useless poor quality potions of magicka he'd gotten from Siddgeir. Well he'd sell them at his next opportunity. X'inn made his way from Falkreath toward Ivarstead. Along the way he ran into a couple bandits standing over a woman's body. They hadn't yet seen him so he took a snipe at one of them with his bow. His aim was true and it struck the bandit squarely. A few short seconds later they lay dead at his feet. The tempered ancient greatsword was magnificent at slicing and skewering! X'inn checked the poor woman and found a note. These two bandits had robbed her of her last tie to her family; an heirloom amulet. Upon examination of the amulet X'inn was amazed to find that it enhanced his ability to use two-handed weapons. He would wear it in her honor. X'inn's pilgrimage to Ivarstead was successful and Bassianus and Fastred would elope to Riften. X'inn was just as successful with the old Markarth Wizard Calcemo and Faleen and the last two Ruki and Fenrig. The priestess Dinya Balu gave Mara's blessing to X'inn, a boost to his Breton Magic resistance. That would come in handy in his adventures to be sure. X'inn took yet another long cart ride back to Whiterun. He was going to check in with the steward to see if there was any work available, but before he could get close enough to speak the Jarl suddenly spoke to him. Jarl Balgruuf was pleased with his delivering the message for Gerdur, but wondered if X'inn would help with another matter. . . Bleak Falls Barrow. Ralof had mentioned it and Camilla pointed out the way to it. X'inn snuck up on it like it was a beast itself. There he found bandits, they seemed to teem with activity in Skyrim. They were no trouble for X'inn. A bit of sniping with his bow and a couple whacks with his greatsword and the outer bandits were dealt with. The two just inside were easily taken down with just his bow. The dance in the main chamber was rather fun. He was prepared for pop-goes-the-draugr from the casket at any time. He'd investigated the wall with the strange sound and glowing word. Once his vision cleared he decided to open the chest, but as he approached up popped the Draugr Overlord. X'inn was ready and jumped off the ledge behind the casket, snuck along to the open area and waited quietly until the draugr no longer searched for him. The cat and mouse, snipe and hide went on for a bit, but at last the draugr truely died. X'inn retrieved the Dragonstone, an enchanted two-handed axe cold as death and the loot from the chest. "What a haul!", X'inn thought. Earlier in the tomb he'd found an Orcish Bow of Shocks on an entombed draugr. Then he'd found a chest in an elevated alcove with a bow of dwemer make in it. That Dwarven Bow helped greatly in taking down the draugr. The ancient arrows he'd gathered from the dead were better than the iron ones he had started with when entering the barrow. But his most amazing find to his mind was the Orcish Warhammer he'd found. That was a beauty! The Dwarven Bow thrummed in X'inn's hands as arrow after arrow went flying out toward the dragon. Fire came barreling in like a giant ball a couple of times to strike X'inn, but the magic resistance and the Atronach Stone ate up most of the damage. When at last the dragon Mirmulnir died and X'inn absorbed its soul he had the sinking feeling that he was in very deep waters and from here on out he'd be constantly looking over his shoulders. Sorry to hear about the early zombifications. I imagine that it will be a common theme for this competition. I'm already "prepared" for Cora Napple's eventual demise, with follow-up character names. Cora Nation, Cora Nary, Cora Larry, Cora Spondence... ;) |
