Bram and Areial, sorry to hear about your tough breaks... Sucks for sure! Good luck on your next incarnations! :)

An update for Tubasha...

Well first, Tubasha confronted Hofgrir Horse-Crusher. There's a two minute video in the Dead is Dead thread that shows what happened.

Tubasha

Penalties 1
(I guess since I've never had a skill penalty, it was time
but honestly I haven't any idea how I managed it.)
Unless... Hmmm... (Nope, I thought perhaps her circlet had an AR, but no, it doesn't.) Has to be from skill books, but damn, I didn't know I'd even read ONE that gave a light armor increase.

There is something really wrong here. According to the UESP, there are only 4 skill books in Skyrim that increase light armor. Tubasha has been to only ONE of those places... and the book is Jornibret's Last Dance, which I KNOW is a light armor increase, so I didn't pick it up.

I am completely mystified as to the origin of THREE light armor skill increases!

Her only clothing is a circlet (already discussed) an amulet of Talos, and a ring.

Any ideas?
Here's what she's wearing:

(The 50 AR is from the Lord Stone)

These are the magical effects:

Neil,
We have a very similar conundrum. Adella's trial doesn't allow magicka use and she is holding just two Alteration skill books. So how come her Alteration skill is four and a half?
The half a point is oddest since books only raise whole points.....she doesn't have any magicka using spells period and the only Alteration 'spell' she has is the zero casting cost Switch that is used to teleport her into cheat room (Thats how she gets her starting skills down to zero).
After casting chest teleport several times I found no rise in Alteration skill....so where did the unexplained extra two and a half points come from?
It was not there at all at level 8, but showed up bu level 13, is all I can say.
Most odd.
I would love to find the mechinism involved.

@Neil, load up your Tower Save and check the same stats. I am finding that beginning stats do not properly reflect a "new" character.

I know that no matter how I clean my install aside from doing a complete re-install all my characters in the tower say they've crafted 4 potions ... NOT! and the aforementioned issue of Most Carried Gold being at 140 right at the start.

I get the feeling that the stat page programming along with stat tracking is a wee bit sloppy.

I believe my characters are cursed. Cursed by the ghosts of Fugitives past! I was fighting the 3 bandits near the Helgen exit as I wanted the treasure map. Ancalagon had one down and the other 2 close to death. He was at full health when.... you guessed it, up ran the Fugitive and game over! That's the 3rd !@#$%^&*()_PP)(*&^%$#@#$%^&*( time in a row on 3 separate characters and only one survived his interference!

I'm taking a break maybe if I play a new character without the competition I can put The Fugitive down a few times just to teach him to knock it off! :teehee:

Ancalagon was level 3. Hadn't even had a chance to clear a dungeon...sigh.

Eragon has been replaced by Andrenar, a high elf sneak illusionist with a penchant for pyrotechnics.

So far we've managed 55minutes play this morning (due out the door shortly for work) and he has managed to tear through Embershard Mine fairly easily (if somewhat hastily), Currently Level 3 and awaiting my return so he can actually leave the mine and join the hallowed ranks of the local thugs-for-hire band of whiterun. Whole reason being if he turns wolfy then it should make lower level raids of a few places easier...and I know I can destroy the residents of half a dozen locations in a single night, even though it means leaving behind a lot of loot :/

I may "upgrade" him to a vampire lord at some stage, just for convenience of transformations at will instead of once/twice in a day

(for sake of ease)
Andrenar
Male
High Elf
Expert
Zombie
Chosen Skills: Illusion, Sneak, Destruction

Thanks to your suggestion, I went back through my saves. Tubasha's Light Armor skill was 15 (as it should be) right up until she hit the very end of level 9 and just before the beginning of level 10. Then suddenly, by level 11, she went to a light armor skill of 18.

Here's the thing, the only place she was in during that time was the Yorgim's Overlook and the Forsaken Cave. As far as I can remember, She left Windhelm during level 10 and at some point in the Cave, turned it to level 11.

Her gear never changed, and I know damned well she didn't read any three skill books on light armor while in the cave. In fact, the only book she read in there was "the Mirror" which raises block.

I didn't do it, I tell ya! I was framed, framed I say! Some durty rat shot my brudder and raised my light armor three points. I'm gonna get dat durty rat, and my Tommy gun'll play a tattoo on their forehead... :flame:

DAMMIT!

I have a possible explanation, Neil, if Tubasha is a werewolf.

The Dawnguard DLC adds an armor bonus to the werewolf claws thing, and the first level of the bonus kicks in at level 11. I'd be willing to bet that it is calculated as a light armor rating, since the effect is identical to the enchantment on the Gloves of the Pugilist.

As to Rick's odd skill leveling, I think this is the result of lowering starting skills to 0. I bet that throws off the skill book math, since the game expects you to have a base skill of at least 15.

No, she's joined the companions, but hasn't been to Dustman's Cairn yet, so not a werewolf.

EDIT I just had a thought though. Tabasha did a quest I've never had a character do before. Grelka in Riften asked her to pick up a satchel in Windhelm from Niranye and bring it to her.

When she was given the satchel, Grelka paid Tubasha off with a special cuirass
Spoiler: click to toggle

Also, Grelka trains Light Armor, but noting was said about any training. I wonder though...

EDIT 2: Check THIS out. Apparently that quest for Grelka doesn't exist in SLE. There is a quest "Package for Grelka" in SLE, but it seems that the package is unobtainable, and thus not doable. I wonder if they "fixed" it for SSE?

It's possible, I still say they "fixed" some thing's but didn't bother to say anything, because people would gripe about the thing's they didn't get fixed.. Some thing's that didn't take much time or effort.

Looking around the net, it looks like they did "fix" that for SSE. And they may have put in a light armor bonus reward.

As that IS a reported issue but unknown when we started this round .. I think that we should waive the penalty for that rise in skills... Kane...ruling please?

I'm all for the waiver (I really don't like getting the penalty for a completely useless skill) but it's not really all that important. One dungeon's worth of points. It's just the idea that sits crosswise when I work so hard not to pick up books, you know? :)

Hmm but IF another quest that you have forgotten also raises that skill, then you get a penalty for it.. to me their IS a difference between..opsie I forgot..and didn't know cause it wasn't in the original vanilla game....
