Well, I haven't done much in the way of quests (especially those that are out of the ordinary). I only did this one because I'd never even seen the dialogue before, and it piqued my curiosity.

In fact, I've been carrying around Amren's Family Sword for about 5 or 6 levels now because I wanted to wait until I was certain I'd avoided the one-hand skill books. :)

I may be still carrying that stupid thing when/if I hit 40 hours...

We can write right that off, no big deal. Wasn't even aware it could happen.

And....thanks for the brain power on my related issue. I can't undo my mysterious skill rise...but it's of no practical issue in the trials...so I am just gonna ignore it.

Rather than say.......re-zero all our skills....at level 23 :'(

Moss Mother was fun. Cora used up half of her potion supply in there.

Bilegulch Mine was easy enough, though. It all seems to average out. Except when it doesn't.

It's funny how different two characters can be. Cora Napple (Breton mage) had no problem with spriggans, but was weak to armored bandits. Cora Nary (Dunmer sneak archer) is deadly to bandits, but weak to spriggans and mages.

She's level 11 now, with 11 dungeons. Probably about 11 hours, too. :)

Shade Miorca is level 10, 7.3 hours played with 11 dungeons and 10431 gold.

I went with two hand, archery and smithing this time around instead instead of sneak. The smithing adds about 10 percent damage so far (level 36 smithing) and should get another bump when I get it to 40. Now those blacksmith potions are a real find! I miss the sneak bonus for my archery, but the extra damage is noticeable with my Warhammer (now 48 damage). We'll see how it works out. ;)

Tonight cleared BFB without incident but a strange thing happened after that. From BFB I went to Riverwood to turn in the claw and sell off the loot.
Then went to White River Watch and cleared that out. I was totally stoked when I looted the boss chest and found a +15% two hand necklace. Woot!!
On my overburned walk back to Whiterun I "put on" the necklace to check out how awesome Miorca's two hand is now. 40 damage with the Warhammer. WTF? It was 44 in BFB. Take the necklace off and it's 30. Okay, maybe the overburdened thing is screwing with it. Nope. I check my saves and going into White River its 30. Hmmm. Had to go back to my save at the exit of BFB to get it right. I mention this for disclosure but also to see if you guys have had this happen. Oh, my archery damage never changed, just the two hand. I've had weird stuff happen, as we all have, but I've never had one skill bork out. Anyway, had to replay after BFB and redo White River and of course my two hander necklace was not in the chest, a necklace of haggling was. :(

Had to use Berserker twice tonight, and it wasn't for the boss fights. The first time I took on the "imposter" soldiers and boy the Orc with the battleaxe and buds would have taken me without BR. Turned out okay but damn probably not a good call! The second Rage time I didn't see coming...literally. I just turned level ten in White River (both times!) and was walking to Whiterun in the dark. Right at the stables two Death Hounds surprised me and damn they were tougher than what I thought. BR time. After the hounds and being the genius I am I go through the Whiterun gate. Yeah. Two Master Vampires and four Thralls were kicking the snot out of the guards. They zeroed in on Miorca and I "did a Neil" and headed to the Companions hall. The guards finally killed the vamps but there were bodies and ashes all over the place. I decided that was enough for one night and here I am :)
Tomorrow I'm going to try Dustmans again :scared:

This competition has been tough with a lot of ups and downs but it has "forced" me to learn, adapt, and become a more accomplished player. And yes, I'm having fun! :tes:

I'm glad it's working out and you're enjoying it!

About that necklace of two hand... I don't pay any attention whatsoever to calculated damage in my inventory after donning something like that any more. I can't tell you how often damage seems to drop, but after a (usually brief) time, it always seems to go back up to where it belongs. I've no clue what causes that, but I definitely know it happens on a regular basis.

Good luck with Dustman's, that one is never easy. I'll be doing that shortly myself... :)

...and good to you as well Mel'Anathia!

Concur. Even with the ussep installed damage calcs are borked....well, sometimes.

I have had a bow of about 300 damage....add an apparal of fortify archery 47% and the damage increases to like 380! Thats not 47% more! I don't have the saves to give you the exact figures but the upshot is even fortify stuff that should stack....often doesn't. Only rigorous testing would provide the truth of it (please no one say Wiki...its as reliable as....well.....something that's not very reliable ;) )

Little tip for Lapuaboy ;) Death hounds are susceptible to paralyse poison. There is a bottle of 7 second up in Balgruuf's room. Keep it for emergencies....you can sprint a long way in seven seconds eh!

The Wrathful Wraith Tubasha has gone to that Orc Stronghold in the Sky... A damned cave bear that she wasn't expecting to attack. We (she and I) had forgotten we took out the skeevers in Dustman's cairn and that no doubt ended the Voice of the Sky...

I'm not going to bother tallying her score, I know it's not as good as her previously tallied score, and there's no point in wasting the time.

R.I.P. Tubs. I had the same thing happen, and had to hide on a rock outcrop to avoid a Sabre Cat.

Okay, for those interested, or who may be thinking of doing that little thing for Grelka, it was definitely her who screwed up my LIght Armor. After the Wraith's demise, I decided to go back to a previous save and see if any changes were made after completing the quest... and here is the pictorial proof.

I'd check the UESP on enchanting Rick. I believe the enchant applies to the original base damage of the weapon and NOT to what you've smithed it. Kinda lame, but I'm fairly certain that is the case.

To add to that, I think it's recommended to enchant first, improve with smithing second.

I'm a bit curious... This has been a really tough competition. Does anybody know what is the highest level anybody attained so far?
