Y'know bikers call a car a "cage"... there's a reason for that. :D

Oh, come on Sere... Midnight on a two-lane highway with nice tight curves... a Hundred miles an hour on the straight stretches, the guardrail flashes by like a dream of a silent movie. The roar of the bike is like not-so-distant thunder, and the power of the engine fills your body and soul... You can live forever in the blink of an eye.

How can you not love that? ;)
It's a meditation. And you don't need a machine to get you there. :)
And.... that's actually pretty profound. I've preferred empiric "fu" to actually driving that fast in the last 35 years.... Of course, I haven't had a sports car either.

Sports cars are useless where I live....

Besides, I can actually run my truck flat out at 125 on the freeway - and no one cares. It's a white Ford F250. EVERYONE IN UTAH has one. If I had my Z.... I'd be toast.

[neil.... I like my cage thanks. In a 70 mph crash, I'll probably come out alive. A person on a bike won't. We have one of those just about every day. They all die. If death is what you're looking for, well, go for it. I'm not looking for it. I figure I'm good for living to 120....]

I miss that car though....

A fact that was of some significance to me in 1968, when I wiped out my Mustang. :)

hmm with the right programming you could do skydiving VR.. the indoor skydiving places
Posted Image
with a VR headset or even the right set up for the wall's ( ie 360 VR TV?) . It already let's you "Fly" or skydive... would not really take much to trick the mind into thinking you are moving.. "Fly through the Grand Canyon"...

Same thing with a canoe or boat ride.. and seriously a VR trip scuba diving isn't much of a jump either. Boat ride.. well.. a type of VR boat-ride through a jungle has been around.. for 30+ years...
Spoiler: click to toggle

not perfect of course.. but we ARE talking 1970's tech! if not 60's!

What I am saying is that for some thing's, I think VR would be good.. I would not be a huge fan of it for games...cause I can see it taking over and I prefer...not.

Biggest issue with me and VR is that I have a serious problem with vertigo.

An eagle lives... and dies... wild and free, knowing no bounds, but unprotected. A parakeet lives in a cage, safe and protected as it watches life pass it by.

I missed your edit Sere, but... I've been in cars that crashed at 70. I happened to be in the back seat, and broke most of my ribs flying forward into the back of the bucket seat in front of me.

I've laid bikes down at around a hundred mph more than once, and never been hurt. The worst I was ever hurt in my life though was on a horse at about 10 mph...

Hmm. Eagles are protected though. Both Goldens and Balds are protected in Utah. Not sure about the rest of the country.

Andrenar is no more but i'm not pleased about it. He cleared Kolskeggr Mine without much difficulty, mined all the gold ore, returned to left hand mine for his reward and sold all his gold ore to Pavo to bring gold total to 12,784 septims. Great, no problem. Exited the bunkhouse into 2 vampire masters and their thrawls attacking....wiped out the thrawls and one master easily enough but caught a guard in the crossfire. While trying to surrender the guard was attacked by the surviving master, rendering me unable to select the surrender options (heavily overweighted at this stage by forsworn gear to sell) so I exited the conversation (forced to seem like "resisting arrest", killed the vampire (who managed to kill the guard) and was promptly finished off by an arrow in the back from another guard :/

Really not impressed with that because I see it as a screw up on the game's part, not mine :(

Final stats are 8 locations cleared, 12,784 gold
4000 + 120 = 4120 points

Cleared: Embershard Mine, Whiterun Overhang, Valtheim Towers, Halted Stream Camp, Whiterun Hall of the Dead, Whitewatch Tower, Kolskeggr Mine, Dustman's Cairn. (assuming Ritual Stone won't count?)

Final skill stats

Yeah, that is one game mechanic that has gotten my characters dead more than any other. ..

I'm not sure if that would be considered a viable "glitch" redo...

Poncho that is like my forced dialog deaths due to the frikkin' Fugitive. This round he's accosted every single one of my characters and only one survived because I'd delivered the killing blow to the last bandit before the dialog interrupt. Really annoying game mechanic because one never knows when it's going to rear its ugly head!

I'm not asking for a do-over....I accept it was at least partially my bad aim, just venting about it :)
I'm going to give it a couple of hours and make another attempt at Andrenar, he worked out pretty well until he got shot in the back. At present I have sunlight shining through the window (no curtains) and it reflects off the screen making dark places rather difficult to see in...nearly landed on the wrong end of a forsworn sword with that sun reflection, but that would again have been my fault for not just turning the game off for a bit.

Edit: Bram, he got me on my way INTO the miner's bunkhouse to speak to Pavo. I actually stood around waiting outside for a couple of minutes in case the hunter showed up, but nobody did. This is why I was caught unawares by the vamps otherwise I would have dumped my junk inside :-/

I think it all goes back to previous discussions we've had here in Haven about how at some point the game is out to get you and you just can't escape it. :scared:

Surprised there isn't (for all I know there is...) a mod that removes force conversation. Or at least doesn't let it trigger if you have an enemy on your compass.

If there is I don't think I could use it this round anyway, since it would give an unfair advantage....same reason I have disabled the mods making NPCs run from dragons/vamps, map markers for collectibles listed on uesp (stones, nirnroots, etc.) and other similar things

Speaking of when the game is out to get you... The Ghost of Tubasha is no more. In Fort Greenwall, she was attacked from behind by a two-hander with an axe (orcish I think) while being hit from the front by a Nord two-hander with a steel battleaxe.

I had no idea the guy that hit from behind was even there at all.

I did post a fun vid in the Competition Video thread post #51

It's about Northwind Summit... Kinda...

Bummer Neil :(

I hope to see more of Tubasha in the near future. Miorca has had a couple of days off as my attention has drifted to Dwemer testers, but I need to get her a few more dungeons at least. Hopefully ;)

I gave Andrenar another roll but tbh I think it's becoming clear i'm losing interest in this challenge....was passing by Mzinchaleft and thought "why not? let's see how we handle dwarven contstructs" (the answer is one hit killed)

I think that's me done, my high score of 4120 is nowhere near some others, but i'm going to be too busy tomorrow to try again and after that i'm back at work :-/

Going to give it until the next round just playing here and there, try to roll up a decent dwarven dungeon delver build to make things go. Also going to reintroduce my expanded spell selection since i'll be able to mod properly again...gives much better choice for how one builds their mage, especially when you can build a decent Ocato's Recital auto-trigger.
