I would go further.....unless people want to join in, imo, they shouldn't vote on rules or try to change the play.
With a complex game affected in so many ways by the rules....I think you will always get things crop up that were not envisioned before hand....nature of the beast. Feels kinda clunky to be messing with rules after the start...I know, but what can you do?

And that's what we need... input, about things that might need changing. Problem is sometimes we don't get any additional information til after the round has started and that's not a good time to want to change rules.

Poncho, I know you didn't do that, but it has been done.

Just to confuse things as much as possible, I'd like to point out that no matter how well envisioned a different competition is, things will come up during competition play that didn't happen earlier with test characters for one reason or another. Such things can only be decided after they are brought to light.

Frankly, this competition has been a complete blast, even though the difficulties (both in play and in generating the rules of play) have been extraordinary. Part of that is because we want a different competition each time simply for the variety. I think we do amazingly well under the circumstances.

Imagine if the rules for each Olympics game had to be completely determined and defined in a period of... oh, say three weeks before each time they are held because the hosting governments are not alike?

Well, I think it's inevitable that some unforeseen questions will arise during play. Even games with well-established rules have officials present to make decisions.

A good example would be tournament-level golf, where officials occasionally have to make on-the-spot rulings about unplayable lies or whether infractions have occurred.

If we had rules to cover everything, we'd have a lot of rules! :D

hmm that is a very valid point...

I try very hard to come up with different, interesting and most of all fun rounds, that I think every one would enjoy.. though <sigh> I have a major idea that i know won't be for everyone.

Ideas...

I like the dwemer scholar idea, too. Dwemer ruins are my favorite, since Morrowind. Difficult, for sure. :)

Mine, too glargg. I never got why people dislike them in Skyrim. They are always a fun thing to delve in to, and are usually brimming with loot.

Y'know, I think Rafer (or After Dark maybe? I dunno) is expecting a werewolf run sometime soon...

That might work well with the hunter/hunted idea.

I'd have to go werewolf. Still not a fan of vampires and magic types.

I like the dwemer scholar idea, though I think I'd have to take it sword and board with periodic Werewolf transformations to nail through all the falmer....or illusionist/enchanter with the vampire artifacts/lord perks to maximise my illusion and survivability. That ring that increases base regeneration rate before the equipment % increases factor in could be a huge help.

We....hate....Falmer.

It's the one time I would be happy with her ladyship using spells.....really hot ones.....cuz the only good Falmer is one that's burning to an agonising death at her feet......I wish there was a mod that made Falmer squeal as they were dying. Did I say how much we hate Falmer....

The Falmer are best left alone. The only reason I survived some of those places in the thief comp, was because they couldn't detect me.

The Dwemer Scholar and Hunter/Hunted are two different ideas Poncho. .. not to say one could not run through the Dwemer ruins as a werewolf on one's own...

I love the idea and would do a spellsword... cause lots of soul gems and other goodies to be found!

Kane, that's the point to the illusion spells. IF one ends up detected, then one can set them off on one another and calm/incinerate the remainder. By staff/scroll if needs be. It's a lot easier to escape when they're focused on killing each other, though. BTW, does anyone know if Silent Casting extends to scrolls/staves? I know i've asked before on the beth forums, but never got an answer or around to testing it myself.

Edit: I know they're separate ideas, just thinking the combo would work for the occasions you find yourself getting swarmed. A short amount of distance/climb on a rock they can't and transform. Werewolf moves fast/power attacks give you breathing space. Vamp gets Illusion boost and the V.L health drain is A.o.E, would be helpful in finishing off those last few at a distance while replenishing some of the health lost to hits/poisons. Also hard to get hit by a falmer you're "force choking" 3 feet off the ground (does that also work on the automatons? been a long time since I played V.L). The secondary form would be more for a back up to the primary playstyle than anything else.
