Hides-the-Bones, Level 1, Left for Dead. Solstheim...of course it would be Solstheim. :) I should know not to book passage with Khajiit "fishermen." Sometime in the night, when we were making the transit between Vvardenfell and Solstheim, they pulled me from my bunk, beat me, robbed me, and threw me into the sea. Perhaps a khajiit would believe that one thrown into the sea would drown like a skeever; they don't know the Saxhleel. We Argonians do not know how to drown. I came ashore on the eastern side of the island, near the dwemer ruins of Nchardak. That place is one that I am charged with investigating, but I saw that it was infested with a large number of bandits, locally called Reavers, and I was unarmed. An unarmed Argonian is not helpless, but we do have our limits, and one of those limits is that we are not foolish. Having studied maps of the island, I had a rough idea of where Raven Rock was located, so I set off overland. It was a relatively uneventful trek. I encountered one strange cultist, who tried to kill me, and I came into the possession of his brown robes, an odd mask, and a spell tome from which I learned the Lesser Ward spell. I also encountered a confused Reaver in full bonemold armor, who was mumbling something about treasure. I now have a complete set of bonemold armor. It fits well, and is quite comfortable. In Raven Rock, I got enough gold for the cultist's gear to book passage to Riften. On a legitimate boat. I shall return to Solstheim when I have acquired what I need for a proper expedition. |

Gaius entered Skyrim yesterday. I'm using Live Another Life, so I wasn't sure where he would start. I figured as long as I didn't get the Alfthand glacial ruin start, it would be fine. I actually like the Solstheim starts. So of course, Gaius starts at the Alfthand glacial ruin. The start really works for this rounds theme. He is a laborer working on Sulla Trebatius' expedition team and gets caught in a storm. With no gear,no food and lots of enemies around, he is forced into Alfthand looking for his companions. Gaius found a pick axe inside the ruin. Some of the team had made it inside based on the journals Gaius picked up. Shortly inside he could hear one of the Khajit brothers ranting. The cat did not sound well. After find more journals and some broken Dwarven constructs, Gaius was attacked by a Dwarven spider! He hammered at the machine with his pick axe, taking hits from the machines forelegs and shock magic. He was bloodied and battered, but Gaius managed to take it apart. He ran to find the Khajit further into the ruin. The Khajit was suffering from severe Skooma withdrawal. He had apparently killed his brother and had drawn his axe and warranting about Gaius coming for his food! Gaius was able to calm him down (Voice of the Emperor) and continued through the ruins. He fought another Dwarven spider using his trusty pick axe but then Gaius encountered a new enemy, a Dwarven Sphere. He turned and ran back through the ruin as fast as he could. He managed to lose the sphere, but ran back into the Khajit. This time he was forced to fight. Skooma made the Khajit fight like an Orc berserker! Gaius used a basic flame spell and his pick axe to end his comrades life. Gaius had come to Skyrim to uncover the secrets of the Dwemer, rather than join the Legion, and now he had blood on his hands. He knew he couldn't face what lurked in Alfthand with just a pick axe so he scrounged up some stale bread and wormy apples from the Khajits pockets and headed back out into the cold. Gaius headed south from there, finding a path through the mountains. Unfortunately, the path was guarded by a ghost! A nearby shrine to Arkay had a steel sword left as an offering. Using that and his flame spell, he released the ghost. He found a steel shield and iron helmet, as well. After fighting of packs of wolves, Gaius stumbled into Windhelm. After selling off the scraps he had collected From the ruins and on the road he was able to buy some iron armor. Time to find some work! There was little work for a peaceful man to be had, but for a man willing to bloody himself there was plenty to do. So, vowing to return to search for Sulla's crew when he could, Gauis began his life as a bounty hunter. Currently, Gaius is level 10. He has one piece of Aetherium and a handful of books. He has found the White Phial, defeated Gathrik and killed dozens of bandits around Windhelm. Finding the Aetherium in a Dwarven storeroom rekindled his interest in the Dwemer, so he sought out Calcelmo in Markarth. Now Gaius is making his way through Nchuand-Zel. He is one expert lock away from a full set of Dwarven armor. He has a bad feeling, though. It's as if the Dwarven constructs in the room are about to wake up. |

You guys had such excitement for your starts... Aahni on the other hand has started relatively quietly. She went to Riverwood and killed off the bandits in the area (most of them anyway) then visited with Balgruuf in Dragonsreach. She came to Skyrim with the intention of starting her own caravan and having that caravan specialize in Dwarven goods. Now she's a little miffed because she thought Farengar had said somehting about dwarven items in Bleak Falls, but she found none at all! Not even a cog! On returning from Bleak Falls, she had wandered a bit, ending up with the Lord Stone, before finally relenting and taking the Dragonstone to Farengar. After jumping on Mirmulnir's head and killing him, she went to High Hrothgar, but a little misunderstanding with the Frost Troll on the way down, sent her back into Ivarstead by the back way. Aahni nor more than walked across the bridge into Ivarstead than she was assaulted by strange people in brown robes and really stupid looking white masks... They were'nt hard to kill, but somehow she tagged a guard while fighting them, and eventually had to kill the guard to get him to stop shooting her with arrows. Running from the guards (and now with a 1000 gold bounty on her head), she'd ended up hiding in Autumnwatch Tower where the dragon who lived there took exception to her using the place as a hideaway. After killing the dragon, Aahni thought maybe she could make her way back to Whiterun, but she was captured by a guard and forcibly taken to Riften where she was incarcerated for a while. When she tried to leave Riften after doing her time, she was attacked by a dragon right outside of the city gate! That was when she realized that she had stolen her bow, and the guards had kept it in evidence apparently, so she had to throw mudballs at the dragon until it landed. Luckily, she still had her mace and banded Iron shield... The guards killed the dragon without much help from Aahni, and she went back inside Rifteen after it was dead to retrieve her bow. After that, she took a carriage to Morthal, and is currently headed for Usedtograss to find some horns. She is level 10 and at Apprentice Difficulty at this point. She's also amazed at how fast she's leveling. She would really like that to slow down, but everything and everyone seems to want to fight... |

Quiet start for me, too. Celia escaped from her cell and traveled to Whiterun, where she picked up a rumor about Helgen. Now, she is level 9, and has begun her journey to Ustengrav for the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller. No Dwemer ruins, yet, but she did find one book. Dwemsey. How she resented that name as a child, and her parents for giving it to her. Why did her parents burden her so? Did they not think of the torment other children would mete out? Her parents, both well respected mages and scholars, were (and are!) fascinated with all things Dwemer. No, let's be honest here, they are obsessed with all things Dwemer. Naming their only child Dwemsey was, to them, a given. Despite the teasing about her name, Dwemsey developed a keen desire to learn more about the Dwemer as well. Childhood trips to museums and actually seeing Dwarven artifacts, even something called a Dwarven spider fueled a wanting to know about the Dwarves and their wondrous creations. A need to know more! Well educated and with quite an intellect herself, she had to shake her head remembering her first meeting with that so-called court wizard in Whiterun. When she was in his study, she noticed a book titled The Aeterium Wars she had studied years ago and made comment of it to the wizard. He expressed amazement that she would even be aware of the subject, much less be more knowledgeable than himself. She did not care to explain, or indeed reveal that the Aetherial legend was a key focus of her search here in Skyrim. She was mulling this over while at the same time planning the completion of Lakeview Manor. Although still needing to finish the greenhouse and put the final touches on the basement smithy, she was very pleased, and proud, of what she had accomplished thus far. The adventurer in her wanted to seek out the Dwarven ruins right now, but the realist in her knew she had stick to her plan. The plan that would give her the greatest chance of success...the greatest chance of surviving what lay waiting in the ruins below. Dwemsey is level 9. Has done the "basic stuff" and is Thane of Falkreath and is currently completing Lakeview. Once we get our greenhouse going in addition to the garden things will start to get moving. I'll be in a "dead spot" for some levels as I smith and brew and basically become a traveling merchant until I get enough moonstone and the rare at this level quicksilver. Then we'll be in business and start raiding ruins. Yeah, she is Dwemsey the crafter queen...but once we get going she'll be strong. So tonight I want to get over the hump say level 14-15 at go kill some Falmer. :tes: |

Thereoff folks! And a tremendous start for the intrepid wacky racers. Everyone appears to be winning! Hee hee, the deceased Dwemmer won't know what hit them...er' because they are deceased, but our Dwarven dungeon delvers show no signs of slowing as the dastardly denizens of the Dwemner depths stoke up the steam. It's gonna be a battle royale! Chortle :) |

You may chortle, but Hides-the-Bones survived Solstheim, got to Winterhold, and completed Saarthal at level 2. :) She hit level 4 in Alftand, killing a Dwarven Sphere with her bare hands. She's only doing the upper part of that dungeon for now; I don't want to go past the "jump down" until she has a higher armor rating and some potions. |

Lynette is now LvL 10 and just switched to Apprentice 8.06 hr's played.. She is just leaving Kolskegger Mine.. after some miners complained about forsworn having taken it over.( doing a couple of the "jarl" task's here and there.. ) I had a weird happening in Nchuand-Zel... In the "control" area.. Lyn ran into 2 sphere's and a spider and all three were a bit much, so she hopped a pipe onto a ledge that they could not get to. She snipped at them and got the spider.. but then the sphere's went different ways. Next thing we knew both sphere's where back along with a Centurion.. it started blowing steam and we had to skeedaddle... One of the sphere's followed her all the way into the next area.. and she got that one. Then went back.. sneaking.. could not find the other sphere or the Centurion... not active ones anyway.. but the area said clear...sooo we will take that. Stat's Spoiler: click to toggle Automatons killed.... 9 Creatures killed........26 Dungeons Cleared: Nchuand-Zel...1000 BFB.................0 Books: 0 Edited by Areial, Jun 3 2017, 06:58 PM.

Dhark just turned level 15. He's completed Sarthaal and is currently staying at the Candlehearth Hall. He'll be catching a ride to Riften in the morning as he's still letting Delphine stew back in Riverwood for having stolen the horn and nearly screwing up his trials with the Greybeards. While on his way to Windhelm from Winterhold he happened upon a Mercenary just a bit before Fort Kastav. Dhark held back a bit to see how the Merc would fair against the Skeleton standing watch in the distance. The Merc took out 2 skeletons with ease, but when the Necromancers attacked she was a bit out of her league. Dhark took on the Adept Necromancer while the Merc dealt with the Adept Conjurer. Wasn't long and the Necro went down, but suddenly Dhark was being pelted with Ice Spikes. He turned to see that the Dunnmer Merc had sadly been killed. He turned his attention to the Conjurer and after exchanging spells and shield bashing the git a few times she too went down. That left one skeleton that was easily dispatched. Now it was time for a well deserved meal and sleep before tomorrow's journey back to the fishy smelling (in more ways than one) town of Riften. |

Corden is level 8 now, and though not badly armed and armored, needs some more combat. He went into Torvald's cave and in the dark got jumped by a sabre cat, a regular falmer, and a gloomlurker falmer. Had eaten some stew right after entering, but even that and gulping potions wasn't going to save him. Ran fast and was glad he was near the entrance! The wolf pack waiting for him outside was almost a relief! LOL Note I said almost! Anyway, he's still alive, and Thane of Whiterun, and had just enough to buy Breezehome and put in the kitchen and bed. He's near broke now. I'll post official stats a bit later, when my tension headache goes away. :lmao: |

With levels rising so is the heat. Will our brave contestants survive the tougher foes? Well it's anyones race still and no one knows With the apparant leader at level 15 already, it's thug time in bandit terms. This is only going to get better folks. :) |

Leader is very misleading. This is not a level contest. I have not done any dwemer ruins and I have not found any books, etc. Strategy is key this round, so leveling will naturally and by design slow dramatically at times. ;) Others are actually in the lead as they have accrued points. Glargg has done more at much lower level than I or others have, but then Glargg is either very brave or truly is an owl living in a tree. :teehee: |

Poor Aahni, has only killed two automatons... This one is SUCH an underachiever! This one is now level 15... She too is Thane of Whiterun, has passed through Usedtograss to retrieve the Horniness of Windcaller for the graybeards (which seemed to please Arngeir a lot), and has gone to see Calcelmo who desired Aahnis Dwemer Dagger of Burning, but she will not part with it. She has cleared Reachwind Eyrie (easy task, yes?) and Arkngthamz (not as easy, but still not hard). She was invited into an abandoned house in Markarth by a sex-crazed Viglante of Stendarr, who then almost immediately tried to kill her. She is not going to do Molag Bal's bidding at this point, although she would like to have that Rusty Mace. Aahni is really very upset. She bought a horse in Markarth rode it straight to Arkngthamz where it was killed shortly after arrival by Forsworn. Why, oh WHY does these people hate horses?!? Aahni is Level 15 Hours in: 13.13 Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by neildarkstar, Jun 3 2017, 08:43 PM.

Glargg is taking advantage of early strength. Glargg is using a Class mod that gives Hides-the-Bones (let's call her "Hidey") an extra 10 points in a half-dozen class skills, and deducts 10 from all the other skills. So Hidey started with 25 in Heavy Armor, and has since raised it several points. She's now level 6, and has 4 perks in Heavy Armor, including Fists of Steel. An Argonian with the Fists of Steel perk, wearing Bonemold Gauntlets, hits for something like 28 or 29 points of damage per punch. And hand-to-hand doesn't raise any skills, so she can level slowly. On the other side of the coin, Hidey has basically no craft skill at all, since those skills started at 5 each. So, somewhere along the line, she's going to have to train up her crafts. And that will cause her levels to rise faster. So Glargg is probably just putting off the inevitable, and it will likely even out. :) Edit: Also, it's worth noting that Hidey hasn't been to Helgen yet, so dragons are still in the future. Not so far along at all, right? :) Edited by glargg, Jun 3 2017, 10:44 PM.

I agree with that... Nchualand-Zel told me a couple things.. Need a bit more smithing.. , Falmer aren't going to be the issue.. the Automaton's are. The extra mech's put in by IC are... tough! I know not everyone will grab a follower.. but I know Lyn will be.. if nothing else to be a pack mule.. Immersive Jewelry has really made the metal's a lot heavier!! It will be Argis, cause Markarth.. Dwemer.. Hot male House Carls.... eye candy.. She already has Lydia as a house Carl.. no house... lol |
