Aahni was busy earlier today, and added Avanchnzel and Mzulft to her "done" list. I'm wondering, do you have to do all of that main quest stuff to get into Blackreach, or can you just go find Sergio Leone somewhere north of the College? Aahni and I are starting to scrape trying to find Dwemer ruins that don't require huge chunks of a quest line to get into... |

Sometimes I forget how fast I can move when I have the motivation....reminds me of typing out university essays in a single night, including all the research and still getting the equivalent of a B on them....good times :) Anyhow....most of the pertinent info is there already, but to recap properly; Spoiler: click to toggle Mod List with guesstimations of +/- : Spoiler: click to toggle Any +/- are only my guesses and if anyone disagrees then I will be happy to adjust to compensate for changes in the balance of the game. We had this.....on SSE......with the USSEP patch installed So yes it still happens. But.....I did not know it was a known glitch thing....it just happened to us on the Contessa's previous run. At first I wasn't sure about things ..... I kept second guessing myself....saying I am sure it shouldn't be this bright down here. Took a lot of the fear away though....being able to see all those pointy eared little devils at range. |

Poncho, it's not a bad thing... check Apocalypse spelks... if it's like Grimoire and gives NPC's spells (lvl'd) with ASIS active, then it's really a Null mod. |

Took a quick look and ASIS does distribute the Apocalypse spells, just need to add the ASIS improved INI files download to prevent certain spells spawning unexpected crowds....so I have done that, I'll test it when I play some more tomorrow. Too late and tired to be thinking about playing now :) Edit: also should say I like the concept for this competition round and may take a break from involvement after this one so I can play a proper playthrough of an Ancient Races Scholar, wandering the ancient nord crypts and dwemer ruins collecting and studying things. You can just go find Septimus and get the elder scroll quest, and head for Blackreach. |

Yes, and no rule specified that we have to start the MQ at all in this competition. Obviously it's different for the quest-locked locations like Mzulft and Irkngthand, where we are forced by the game to do the quests to the point where the locations are unlocked. And I do believe one has to at least start the MQ in order to be attacked by the cultists, to do part of the Dragonborn quest line. Otherwise Nchardak can't be entered. |

Well, supposedly you can be attacked by cultists on Solstheim and somehow magically get to start the DB MQ. Yes, I've been attacked by said cultists; no I haven't got any way to start DB from that interaction. [Forcibly restrains self from rant about idiot devs and enforced quest lines] |

Hides-the-Bones is in the Reach, pursuing the Aetherium Wars investigation. While there, she has met with a scholar named Calcelmo, and has assisted him by killing a large spider. She will further investigate the ruins under Markarth when she has finished with her other business in the region. Spoiler: click to toggle

First, as Bram noted a big thank you to Areial for the concept and execution of this round :hugs: Having a great time :) Dwemsey has been a very busy little Breton, and just turned 40 with 31.30 hours played. She's been pretty well set up for a while and is looking forward the next 28.70 hours ;) Spoiler: click to toggle

Well Neil, I love to craft and build characters, so this is in my wheelhouse, and I also choose the "safest" build with a sneaky archer. The scaled leveling also helps out with a pretty safe starting environment! With my tester I was surprised at how she leveled, and how well...with only archery, as opposed to 1H plus block AND archery, or even 2H and archery the perks can get allocated to crafts, and there you go. I will say that as a high hour main character it lacks variety and won't hold my interest as is. This is my "Reverse Nekkid Nord" character-keep a distance and still wear great armor. Hell, if she makes it the 60 hours I might fire up a new melee build and try it again. |

Gaius Zombius is now at level 11. He is making his way through Nchuand-Zel. He has a full set of Dwarven armor, a dwarven sword and Dwarven bow. All self crafted using materials salvaged from outside of Nchuand-Zel. He is outside the Armory and the battle with the two spheres is looming. Hid predecessor levelled twice during the fight, so I am expecting some excitement. It sure would be nice to find an enchanted sword before the fight. So far he's found two books and one Centurion Dynamo Core. |

Update for Corden, lvl 14 Spoiler: click to toggle Had to get his AR and combat skills up, been doing a lot of generic fighting and smithing. Luckily, the loot has been getting a wee bit better, he was having too much of a hard time with falmer. Strangely enough, though he seems to do well with archery on most everything, against the falmer, not nearly as well. It's a puzzle. Get into melee with them though, and it's another story, albeit much more dangerous! Kind of the opposite of what I expected and am used to. Hated that he had to buy an enchanted necklace from Belethor, to help his AR. :( It cost the damn moon! Here's hoping he's ready for Raldbthar! :nails: Edited by Andra Hawksdaughter, Jun 7 2017, 09:24 AM.

I'm not ready for the Falmer. Looks I'll be on Adept when I first encounter them, too, so it may be dicey. |

Melinda is now 5 hours in and just achieved level 10 and a difficulty increase. For the most part she's just pottered about, done a couple of bounties, become Thane of Falkreath (though she lacked funds for the plot of land) and mostly just made a nuisance of herself to the local bandit population. She finished her ascent up the Rift Cliff only to find a poor, battered "merchant" needing help back to his camp...just over a bridge. Smelling a skeever, she kept her distance and made use of her familiar to help thin the ranks while she polished off the rest. By this time it was late, so she fell into the sleeping skins of the bandit chief and got a good night's sleep followed by an appreciation of the view. Much wandering via wolf packs, skeletal bands, bandits, skooma dens and shifty thieves pursued by hunters later, Melinda arrived in Solitude. Here she picked up a number of quests from the local notice board, including one to investigate the disappearance of two local citizens. Since she was talking to Falk anyway, Melinda picked up a request to investigate Wolf Skull Cave. She blazed through there with a combination of bound sword, lightning bolts and firebolts, pausing only long enough to watch a spooky light free itself from a curiously carved table and exit through a hole in the roof. From here she proceeded to follow the trail left by the two citizens...turns out they were wannabe treasure hunters who heard rumours of treasure in Ravenscar Hollow. (My failing here is that it's not a cave I've ever been in more than a couple of times). Arriving outside, Melinda found a Sabercat on guard that was quickly dispatched between herself and her flame atronach (Wylandriah furnished an upgrade or 3 on spells). Heading inside, the cave seemed conspicuously empty, but that just meant caution was warranted. Summoning a fresh atronach and sword and refreshing her magical armour roused the attentions of the inhabitants....a troll, skeever and a couple of spiders. These were made short work of, but Melinda couldn't see what was flinging the fireballs around....they exploded, it couldn't have been the atronach. Then she did see. Hagravens, five of them. She panicked and started running for the exit and got hit squarely in the back by multiple fireballs....then laughed as she realised they were being absorbed by the Atronach Stone blessing. The fight turned sharply in her favour as the Hags fueled their own demise, one after the other, refilling Melinda's stores of magicka so she could heal and then fling flaming death back at them. There was a bandit further in who had all the deceptive cunning of a slug, attacking Melinda as soon as she opened his cage. He did not survive. On heading for the exit, Melinda decided to stop for a photo op with her newest gal pals |

I do have one question Kane. Why is Reachwind Eyrie included in the Dwemer dungeon locations, but the Mzulft Storeroom isn't? I know it's by Mzulft, but it's still separate in that you don't have to get into the main ruin to get it, and it has one of the shards. And as with RE, it's got no foes to fight.

I just counted the Mzulft storeroom as part of Mzulft, since it doesn't have it's own map marker. |
