I don't really know how much interest this will get, but you see Aahni insisted on telling me this story of a meal she shared with her friend Atahbah (a member of Ri'saad's caravan).

Since she insisted, and is/will be a competitor in the upcoming Dwemer Scholar competition, I thought maybe we should have a competition thread for the purpose of tale-telling by, of, for, or about competition characters. Please, feel free to comment and submit your own competition related tales.

Assuming Kane doesn't think this is a singularly bad idea of course :)

Edwinna:
"The schematics I possessed while in Morrowind seemed to show that Dwemer Automatons are propelled by steam heated by charged soul gems. It would be useful to dissect an intact example, to determine how that was accomplished."

Sriracha:
"There's an awful lot of valuable dwarven junk lying around in those old ruins. Somebody ought to do something about that."

Horatio:
"Ah, retirement. No more bashing heads, bad legion food, and sore feet. Time to take it easy, read a book, and poke about in some dusty, quiet, and long-abandoned ruins. Ah, good, we seem to have arrived in Markarth."

Nokandu:
"This one does not care for the smell of Nords. They seem to wash infrequently."

Hides-the-Bones:

The Hist sings. It sings in all of its children. It sings in the rushing of water, down to the sea.

Where there is water, there would the Hist go. There must the children go, to carry the Hist, which flows in their blood.

The Hist has dreamed of waters deep beneath the land, where only the Deep Ones have lived. The Hist has dreamed of Brass and Steam, of shining golden towers, and of passages deep beneath the land, to where the hidden waters run.

The Hist has dreamed of these places, and it is to these places that Hides-the-Bones must go.

Aahni sat on the ground beside her horse nominally looking at the
Dwemer ruin of Bthardamz that sat in front of her. The truth is that she was lost in thought considering the events of the last few hours.

Good job, cat.

Just for info's sake - if you don't kill everyone in the place, you wind up with Afflicted ambushing you forever....

Yeah, but I still don't usually kill more than I have to on my way through... Their ambushes sometimes tend to break the monotony, eh? ;)

Reminded me of Anakin slaughtering the Tusken Raiders in Attack of the Clones. Never get between a horse and it's owner!
