Thank you Bram! I truly adore her work. Every bit of it - she's truly a master. And I will never ever forget her name again. I wish we had bluebirds. I mean - they do nest in the valley, but where we are is just too high for them. Down in town we see them and I'm happy for that! |

What? Mammoths! Giants! No....of course not, clearly! But that was not the scenario offered for evaluation. Remembering also I do not have Skytest...so the other scenarios are unknown to me, hmmm. And of course we can't see animal stats....so I can only go by the vanilla benchmark unless informed otherwise eh. If you'd have said, btw these are actually like ice wolves.......well that ups the anti a lot! Your vid simply asked if a six(?) strong wolf pack mod on Master...as shown....should be regarded as an advantage or disadvantage mod, as compared to vanilla. I gave a reasoned opinion based on what was shown. ............... Related... This shows also the problem faced in deciding what mods are reasonable for us to use. A mod that draws all the giants to you is horrendous. One that also spawns in extra giants is even more horrendous. One that does all that and makes them faster is even more horrendous than the others. Where do you draw the line? Well....there is no line! It's just a question of how bad do you want it? Recalling our old issue of Deadly Dragons Versus Legendary vanilla. What I always said was....you can dial them up or down as you please so there is no question that a mod CAN be harder...IF you choose it to be....(or softer)...With no benchmark and the settings decided only at the whim of the player or mod author....I think it becomes rather pointless comparing it to vanilla at all. My vanilla games achieved their 'variable stats' by deliberate player nerfing....cos that was all we can do without mods! But more....you can still feel where the vanilla benchmark sat! That gives a guage to the degree of enhanced difficulty rather than it feeling more arbitary due to a mod makers idea of what constitutes 'harder'. To a large degree you know that habit is still with me....as in Adella's Trials ;) I was going to say.....thats why I do not use mods that add in weird non vanilla npcs with abnormal damage outputs. But.....thinking about it....I DO have Sylvan Spirits....not for the stupid over sized spriggans.....but for the Coyotes and wild Boar hogs....they seem reasonable additions to the game world. Plus I recently added...Wooley Rhinos. Adds a few scattered Rhinosaurus across the Tundra....placid...but once riled...hoo boy! To put one down on Legendary took TWO ebony arrows from a bow of dmg 350 plus 300 points of poison damage.....tough bugger! And fast in the charge too! Edited by Rick, May 17 2017, 10:27 PM.

The thing about figuring out if a Mod is an advantage or a dis-advantage, is that you really have to read the description. Most people would not argue that Deadly Dragon's is a "dis-advantage" mod.. but you have to read it.. cause you can toggle all NPC's as essential.. this negates the difficulty in a way,... sure sure the PC can still die easy.. but no one else will. You can make it so that dragon's never attack walled towns.. again take's some of the Bad Ass out of the mod.. Which is why I have said that IF one uses a mod that has toggles, they must be set to "vanilla" or combination's that make the mod more difficult than vanilla to be considered a "dis-advantage' mod. Sometimes it takes a good read through a mod to know which way it goes.. |

Here are a couple of things to consider adding to the scoring: - Letter from Calcelmo quest - Requires the player to turn in an acquired Dwarven item - Dwemer crossbow and Dwarven enhanced crossbow schematics from the Dawnguard questline |

I'm trying to figure out a plausible way of bringing a 200+ year-old mage to life. The ideal "Dwemer Scholar" actually exists in a prior TES game. A whole big part of the Morrowind Mages Guild quest line involved working for a Dwemer Scholar named Edwinna Elbert, who ran the Ald'ruhn guild hall. If I can figure out an explanation for why she's still alive, I'd love to re-create Edwinna for this. |

While investigating Dwemer Ruins she came across a strange device. Being the inquisitive type she started fiddling with the buttons and the next thing she knew she was waking up in Skyrim not even realizing there had been a shift in time let alone location! |

I'd love to share the secrets of time shift with you, but haven't a clue how it happens. I had a big dose of it yesterday. Yesterday being tuesday, I took my garbage out to the street for pickup, then got in my rig and headed for town to take care of some business. Met my daughter for lunch and even though I was certain she'd just started her new job a couple of weeks ago, she was adamant that she had been there about 6 weeks... Fine, went to the Casino to play in the Tuesday night poker tournament, and the creep running the poker room had the nerve to try to tell me it was Wednesday, not Tuesday. I'd have really been irate, and told him off but the guy looks like a younger Al Pacino... I mean, do you really want to tell Scarface he's mistaken? Well, it seems the whole world was convinced it was Wednesday, so I had to play blackjack instead... I one about $80, so I guess it was okay. Then I went home and discovered my garbage can still sitting where I had put it for pickup, and still full of garbage... What a truly stinking development! I tell ya, "I'm sick of these stupid things that keep happening to me, and somebody had better do something about it!" Identify the movie that was the source of that quote, and win a beautifully gift-wrapped no-prize that will be delivered the second Tuesday of next week... ;) About your Dwemer Scholar and her time shift, Bram... all you have to do is say she spent a night as a guest at my house... :) |

Yeah, you guys are looking into the same time-machinery that I'm looking at. I just need to refine it. :) Edit: Got a couple of possibilities. There's a start in LAL where you wake up after being enthralled by a mage. And another start where you wake up as a vampire. Either could account for Edwinna having been magically "suspended" for 200 years. Edited by glargg, May 18 2017, 01:24 PM.

A mishap when experimenting with her own version of a "slow target" spell cast on self to speed up long journeys? Hit with a slow spell while dematerialising under the effect of a teleport spell? A paralyse/shield spell combo hastily cast and gone wrong to protect herself from the eruption of Red Mountain? Protection spell of excessive (panicked) power cast on her by a lover during a bandit raid? Vampirism? |

Y'know, you're a hard man glargg... do you know how hard I worked to make that video showing Orchendor's demise? Do you know I even dedicated the video to you? ...and what do I get out of the deal, eh? Stuck with a stupid shield I can't use, and for some reason am not allowed to sell. What do I get out of you? Not a word! Not a "Well damn!" not a "Screw you Neil", nothing. You're a hard one, Mr glargg... ;) |

Yeah, I was editing just as you posted, Poncho. Vampirism is one of the prime candidates. It makes for a bit of an awkward competition start, though. |

I have to confess that I haven't gotten around to watching the video, Neil. I was time-constrained when I first saw your post, and then I, uh, "senior-momented" it. Going to watch it now. :rose: |

Watched it, and learned. :) I've never trapped Orchendor that way. I presume he can't teleport if he's lured outside of his normal area? It's a lot easier if you have a nice strong bow, poisoned. :) |

Yeah, you have to get him into that hallway, and then he's stuck. A poisoned arrow works if you are able to use a bow, but I think my way was more fun... :) Honestly, I need to thank you for setting thins in motion that resulted in the creation of the character, Danae. She's been teaching me something new almost every day... Don't ask me to explain how the character teaches the player new tricks, but I'm convinced it happens. :D |
