You should get a reload for something like that! I know exactly how it feels.... been a bad spring for that sort of thing.

Sere in competition I might make an argument about that being "outside influence"... as it's just practice anyway.. I reloaded.. did a few more "rooms" and then deleted all saves... I'll start over from a new save and "preset".

I had already found out all I needed except how well she would do in a Dwemer ruin.. those same 3 Falmer went down with no issue at all.

I wasn't lucky enough to find any item to help with smithing.. only one potion.. So that in a way meant that I didn't do more than create and get to "fine"..

Tomorrow Skyrim Romance comes out..or that's the date that was set.. I may see about downloading that when I get home from work, though honestly I'll probably wait until late at night, as it took 4 hr's to download the 7.7 Gb that is Neverwinter nights..S.R. is 12 GB unless they managed to package it smaller.. soooo yeah, late at night is best!

One of the things that is a "disadvantage" with the "Classic Classes" mod is that, if you don't take Smithing as a class skill, you can barely do anything with it at all. With Smithing at 5, you can't make armor or weapons, and you can't improve anything. You can make house stuff like nails and fittings, and you can make jewelry, so you can gradually get the skill high enough to work normally.

I would guess that Rick/Adella are dealing with this same problem with the 0-skill challenge.

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but y'all don't just go to the Dwemer ruins right off, do you? You take some time to build up skills needed first, yeah? I'm getting a little weirded out trying to decide what to do, lol.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not going to set foot into a Dwemer ruin unless I have serious skills...

Thanks Neil! I haven't even decided on a character type yet, though I've narrowed it down to a spellsword or sneaky archer. (I think!) Skills will be chosen depending on which I decide. :( If he/she can survive at all, I'll be happy!

It would depend on the dwemer ruin and what difficulty you are depending on your level. One doesn't unlock until level 14 so you'd be on Apprentice level to start it. Some even on Novice would be a challenge without the right gear/weapons/spells which you might not get or be able to purchase until you have inadvertently leveled. Which takes it all back to Areial's assessment that this will be a VERY strategic competition.

For me, I'll probably start Dwemer ruins while still on Apprentice. Say level 13 or 14. Since I plan to have a very small number of perked skills, that should be high enough with some luck and effort.

Thanks Bram! Like I said, if the character survives will be a big enough accomplishment for me, I have NO doubt I won't win it. LOL Right now the biggest hurdle for me is trying to decide to go for it...

Jeez, I'm even having a hard time deciding the race...though I am tentatively liking a Redguard.

I'll probably start Dwemer ruins in the mid teens. Avanchenzel is always the easiest to start with, IMO.

I like Redguards. They've got serious combat skills, eh? I'm going for a Khajiit this time, because of their innate ability to calm foes by purring and rubbing against their legs... ;)

Redguard or Breton for me. Probably Breton, because of the magic resistance. Starting on Novice will help with the starting skill losses.

Ok, moving right along. :ermm: Would Immersive Armors be a + ? That could be offset by Simply Stronger Dragons?
