<nodding> yep.. I just wanted to let everyone know..

Thinking Breton Altmer
2h
Archery
Conjuration
Alteration
Enchanting

Many nice non-armor robes in Immersive Armors... only thing I am worried about is the follower... not having smithing, they suffer.. or will until enchanting get's enough!

IDK.. I'll have to test a couple out and see what happens!

Edit: looked at those skills.. and the starting stat's.. Altmer is better

He rules his Arcaeneum with a rod of iron.....It might as well be Urag's own little plane of Oblivion. :P

So how does this work then?

You lead a follower (the Scholar) into dangerous Dwemmer places and try to keep them alive while you hunt out valuable artefacts (for them)...yes!

Meanwhile....being a follower an all.....they will be doing their best to get killed by every Falmer and Sphere they can find....correct?

Well that's just a Follower being a follower! This round you don't have to have a follower..

What I was talking about was a completely different round one where keeping the follower alive is just as important as keeping your own character alive.. ie you are the "Side-kick".. What quest's are used is... debatable still. .. it need's more thought.. as to what skills would be allowed.. and I think Dwemer ruins would be a bit to hard for that..

A Treasure hunter type round would suit that best... The follower is... Indiana Jones... You are Short-Round...

We're tough. We don't need extra skills. We can take out draugrs with our teeth.

Eh, one of the two MMOs I played (and I think it was likely WoW) had a quest line where Indy wound up sort of your follower.

The idea is good, but I don't do followers. Never have, never will. They irritate me so much. Even the one's foisted upon one because of a quest.

I'll pass on a comp with a follower requirement, but y'all have fun!

What I should do is use a follower this round to force myself to learn how to anticipate their stupididittities better. Then they probably won't be so bad later on in a required round. I'll just have to stock up on a lot of comfort food for when they do act stoopid! Me no likey learning curves like these. :teehee:

Followers are just robots....I shouldn't "care" about them....but it's a human trait to ascribe emotions to and with familiar 'mechanical' things.

The number of times Lydia got Ulda killed cos we were trying to save Lyds from a hammering.

That's the biggest follower drawback for me...I can't help running to their rescue :)

One time....I recall getting so upset at losing Lydia that I did a full restart....sensible would have been to just shrug it off and get a different one...but I am a bit of a soppy old bugger. Mind you...Ulda was not as strong with me as Adella. I am not sure the Contessa would permit me to chuck her progress away over a deceased Lydia....but it has not been tested!

Followers are a total PAIN IN THE ASS. There's no denying that. You can't get around it. I NEVER used a follower until first I did the companions crap; and then I forced myself to do Dawnguard.

AAAAAHHHHH!!! I HATE THEM!!!

Blackreach Railroad is another dwemeresque mod that I thought I'd throw out here. Might be a fun one to do as part of this comp.

And I actually love having followers...

Arieal's tip's to a better experience with followers

* pick a follower whose style complement's your characters.. ie if your a Tank, pick an Archer or mage.. and vise-versa

* Pick a follower mod that you are comfortable with.. ( try a few of them ) I use AFT ( Amazing Follower Tweaks) EFF ( Extensible Follower Framework ) is also a good one..

* Hate the chatter... FCO ( Follower commentary Overhaul) you can crank that down to 0% and they won't chatter as much.

* So your the sneaky type??? Better Stealth AI for Followers

* Tired of killing your follower? Get the Black Book Winds of Change.,, and pick Companions insight.. (That way you can hit Lyd's in the back of the head....repeatedly with a iron mace.. and not kill her...

* Make sure your follower has the best gear that you can beg, borrow or steal.. well make.. seriously... it helps more than you would think. ( mine generally have better gear than my character.. specially vanilla)

* Give them Health Potions!!! they WILL use them.. and get back into combat sooner.

* Convenient Horses is a MUST with followers... if your character is riding!

Their are a few Follower AI overhauls.. but.. they can be a bit tricksey... I don't use them.. Their are some very nice follower mods that have built in AI's that make the follower better.. Ingio.. Hoth.. Viljia..

Followers aren't for everyone.. I know this.. but they can be better for those that do.
