Checking to see if there is any interest from others to host these bad boys. I will still do it if needed, but I plan on taking a break from playing for a comp. or two, after our current round.

I can host the next few if need be. I had planned on not participating, though... Or if everyone wants we can take a break for a bit...

I don't have any great idea's atm.. just half formed ones that aren't really great.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to not have "formal" competitions all the time. People can come up with their own "challenges" or mini-competitions, as Rick has done with Adella.

In fact, I think the competitions are more meaningful when we don't have them all the time.

Having said that, I'm really enjoying the current round. :)

Ha ha ha....yes! Adella's trial is quite a big challenge....I wouldn't call it a mini-competition unless we can call 1000+ hours mini ! I'm just worried the save file stays intact through it all :nails:

Well, here's a thought for a different round....
How about a DiD challenge to get through the whole MQ.....lets not penalise robe wearers (really) but try it say with a couple of Adella's conditions....like no healing up and no follower (anything with Ai), so getting through has to be all the players own effort.

Speed things up by having no crafting use and do it all on Adept (so that destruction spells still do something!). Then leave all other restrictions off and let people find their best build.

Just an idea :)

Good idea, Rick, although I'd say Expert would be fine for a mage, too, just a bit more dangerous.

I did think initially to say Expert as it happens....but worried in case the spell casters didn't like the weaker zaps n' whooshes.

So if you think Expert is still ok for Destruction....then yes....even better! :)

Sounds good... I'll have to skip that one as well... My Next RP involves the MQ as the PC has to be Dragonborn or the dialogue makes no sense.. and well Bishop is the main part of the Mod.. so, can't get away with no follower. and I really don't want to do the MQ back to back.

I'll be skipping, too. Working on Khalor's story, Fallout, trying to get something rolling with Morrowind and Oblivion, and home renovations take up a lot of time. I'll probably be in competition stasis until the fall.

I have an idea that I'll be downloading and playing FONV as soon as this present round is over. I'm also looking at Dragon's Dogma, which I've never played.

But the right sort of challenge can generally entice me into playing Skyrim! :)

From what I remember Dragons Dogma was fun... and unleveled.... my first character died like 5 times before I looked up the dungeon he was in... like 15 lvls over him.. very near the "start" ....

Taking a "break" after this comp, but really probably going to expand this play through after the 60 hours are reached. Summer is bizzeh and life is trying to be complicated here. Perhaps sometime this fall with a back to school comp one will be recharged enough to join in again! ;)

Sounds like a few of us will be out of the running for a little while after this round....all I know of the summer is work will be all over the place (hurray for public transport, the wind took down the power lines for the trams last night) and September through to early November at least i'm likely to be on a lot of late shifts finishing later than i'm supposed to because of crowds. Anyone would think they had never seen pretty flashing lightbulbs before....one can only imagine the meltdown they have at christmas.

*for those over the pond, Blackpool have their annual illuminations from the beginning of September through to the first weekend of November every year. I'm sure there are any number of pictures/videos online of the big fun time we have on the trams

Greetings all ye Havenites!

Not wanting to derail the topic at hand, but I thought I'd post the idea below for a future competition.

On topic: Hosting is a "job" no matter how one looks at it and I truly appreciate those that have and do host. My own home life situation is not conducive to providing time as a host as I spend a great deal of stressful time caring for my mum and my older brother. That said, if life ever changes and I get to make some lemonade from the lemons I keep getting I will gladly volunteer at that time.

The Idea:

This is one of those Back to School Themes we could do as a competition. Unfortunately for some the majority of the mods are SLE only at this point as they require SKSE. The major one, however, is available for both SLE and SSE including Consoles (need to see if that both consoles or not).

The video link below shows each mod and a synopsis of what they include.

Giving Skyrim that Hogwarts Harry Potter type Environment

Perhaps after watching and/or testing some of the mods we can flesh out competition goals, etc. :)

MetaGoblin also has one that is LOTR themed which we could also do. ;) I am amazed every day at the modding communities talent!!!

So during my Dwemer delving, I had an idea for another future round. It'll probably half to be another month long, 60-80 competition, because there is a lot of ground to cover and a lot of danger.

Paleontologist. There is a lot of Nordic barrows to explore!

It would certainly take a lot of time, since I believe you'd have to do just about every faction quest line.

Indeed! Not to mention a few Dragon Priests getting in the way.
