Ah, there is a mods issue for me on that. Even though I only use "Super Simple Needs" I can't sleep without a bed or bedroll, and the penalties are a pain. I ended up finishing Bleak Falls with Rockjoint, Brain rot, and Sleep penalties with Hunger mixed in because I forgot to eat... :D About the Howl, it seemed to me that Bosses were never effected without the perk. You can find the bedrolls (and a chest) outside. Above the entrance there's a circular, tower like building with an opening at the side. That's where those Silver Hands are resting. You get enough hearts for two perks before you reach the Skinner. |

I've never noticed them, but honestly, it's never occurred to me to sleep there before going in. Usually, I'm role playing, and sleeping for a few hours while Skjor is already inside wouldn't fit that very well, eh? :) It's like "Hey, Skjor!. I know you're in deadly danger in there, and expecting backup, but you won't mind if I stop to take a nap, right? :D If you kill all of the Silverhands (not in wolf form) then go back and feed on the dead, you discover that the game has removed several bodies, and you don't get two perks out of them, so that's what generally happens with me. I get the perk inside the bandit camp, after I've killed two guards outside, and perhaps two or three bandits inside. Currently, S'Virre took on Mirmulnir and that was fun. |

It's been quite a ride with S'Virre of Nine. After High Hrothgar, she went to Bonestewn Crest, and with a lot of help from a giant collected that dragons soul and the Frost shout. She then tried to take on the Mount Anthor dragon using the Frost shout as her primary offense. AFter a couple of hours Real Time, the three thugs showed and got in on the act, and it was a hell of a mess. S'Virre killed on of the thugs, and the other two just disappeared. The dead one was carrying the contract, which Naziim had paid for... (I owe him one now ) After that she needed to sleep, so went to Winterhold and caught some Zs, then returned to find the dragon fully healed (naturally) and started over again. After over three days game time of non-stop battle, it ended in a draw. The dragon retreated to his little perch where he gets all healed up, and refused to come down and fight. She had nothing that could reach him up there, so finally she just left. She thought she could do better with the dragon at Autumnwatch tower because his healing perch is not out of reach, and she did indeed manage to collect his soul. Proceeding on, she was headed for Usedtograss and decided to stop in at Skyborn altar to say "hello" to the dragon there. After three or four hours of Real Time combat, that dragon just disappeared. S'Virre waited long, but he never returned, so she went on to usedtograss to get Windcaller's trombone. Usedtograss was fun, and for the most part S'Virre passed through unnoticed by mages and draugr alike. AFterward she stopped by the Stormcloak Camp, stole a horse, and rode it through labyrinthian trying to get trolls to follow her. Only one actually followed her all the way to Skyborn Altar, but it was the strangest thing... When S'Virre and the troll got to Skyborn Altar the dragon was back, and perched on his wall. She rode her horse around under the dragon's nose while avoiding the troll, and... the dragon opened an eye, looked at her, and apparently went back to sleep. The Frost Troll got bored and left, and eventually S'Virre dismounted and hit the dragon with a Frost shout. The stupid dragon didn't even flinch. Finally S'Virre gave up and headed toward Riverwood, still riding her stolen Stormcloak horse. At some point between Silent Moons Camp and Whiterun, guards appeared out of nowhere (literally, just appeared standing beside her horse and forcing conversation) so she went off to pay her fine. One thing led to another, and soon she found herself in Dustman's Cairn (at level 13) with Farkas who refused to fight any of the draugr, and just followed S'Virre around letting the draugr beat him into a pulp. The only thing he was really good at was bringing the draugr straight to S'Virre... Shortly after that she found herself dead in Dustman's cairn, still at level 13. Farkas has proven to be a completely unreliable companion, and I'm wishing I could just do Dustman's Cairn without him sometime. |

Ouch... yeah he can be a pain in the buttocks... Neil, do you have any mod that improves the NPC's AI? Cause that I would think would be important.. to get them to act the way they are supposed to.. and not the way that they often do...vanilla. |

I'm running SSE, and I've no clue what AI mods might be available. I know I have none at this point. It occurred to me that it might have been interesting had I ran ahead and waited for Farkas and his little draugr entourage to catch up, and then dropped the gate in that little alcove. I wonder if the Silverhand would have showed up in the middle of the draugr, and if Farkas would have still gone wofl form... Edited by neildarkstar, Jun 28 2017, 08:47 PM.

I found a couple on quick search.. it would be a matter of seeing which one's actually effect follower NPC's and not just the bad guys. I know AFT has tweak's, but that's SLE and while it is out SSE.. I think some of the utilities are lacking. I think the thing with Farkas is that while he is listed as "aggressive", his detection ...errr suck's sour apples. I haven't really looked into all the SSE mod's, cause until they get SKSE.. it's just not going to have the utility that I want. |

Followers tend to follow the PC's lead when it comes to weapon choice, aggression, etc. So if S'Virre isn't in "armed" mode, then a follower is likely to go with weapon sheathed as well. I don't know if that's your situation with Farkas, but it might be. |

I caught on to that idea some time ago glargg, so S'virre went in fighting mode and Farkas had his weapon drawn, he just wouldn't use it most of the time. If she stayed in sneak, so did he, and I kind of expected that he wouldn't fight that way... but even if she stayed out of sneak, and tried straight up combat (hand to hand of course) he'd just stand there telling the draugr all the nasty things he was going to do to them... in some never never land scenario, eh? |

This is what I had kind of remembered with AFT.. I never use the management tweaks.. just the "get out of my way" one.. and outfit management.. of course.. having Argis wear a skimpy "day" outfit at home and a tanky armor out and about.. is nice. - Remotely command followers in combat A Tweak Command Power lets you direct followers during combat. Tell followers to attack or hold back, summon them to you or even tell followers to transform into their Beast forms. AFT SSE So their is a version... and I think that would have taken care of the issue you were having.. |

I had some of those moments too. Now, the good part is that when Farkas is not in combat, he regenerates health very fast so he can keep receiving hits while i kill that Restless Draugr. I noticed that the higher level you are when you get there, the harder it gets. At level 14, Farkas drops on his knees after just 2 hits from a two-hander Silver Hand. Also the last group of Silver Hands simply slaughter the draugrs, but if you go there at low level (below level 5), Farkas will last a lot longer and the battle between those Silver Hands and the draugrs is really intense. The draugrs may even win this battle if all of them wake up. |

AFT will take care of that if it read's him as a "follower" because it will un-cap him and level him up to where the PC is.. plus you can also change his stat's to reflect what he is supposed to be. Other than some of the mod's I use that changes look's and lengthen's out companions.. AFT and Better Stealth AI for Followers are two of my must have's .. Neil.. the second you don't want atm... as then you have to be at leas 50% detected before your follower will attack. |

The problem is that AFT is running some pretty heavy scripts and my computer is at it's limits with my current setup. |

I may never find out about Dustman's Cairn at low level, the way things are going. After S'Virre's last demise, I tried to reload her save in the first tower, but the save was borked. Again. So, S'virre is no more, since I had to recreate the character from scratch. I made a new Khajiit, her name is R'Ath, and I decided to try AD's level one Dustman's Cairn to see how it went. It was... well, I'll let R'Ath tell you about it. Spoiler: click to toggle After that, it was back to another iteration of R'Ath who had a very similar story, much like her predecessor's. Even down to Farkas wanting to give her Ranveig's Feast for her first job. She turned it down, and went to talk to Aela, who thought it would be a good time to give R'Ath the troll cave job, which of course would have been impossible her to finish successfully. In the end R'Ath went back to Farkas who again gave her Ranvieg's Feast. Back in the tomb, R'Ath avoided the ghosts successfully, but unfortunately the last ghost armed with a huge two handed sword fell into the trap, while R'Ath did not. This meant of course that if R'Ath fell into the trap, the ghost would kill her immediately when she landed. Seeking another way to get to the wizard (I don't think there is another way actually) she met with a ghost who took her life with one swing of his shiny and bright blue two handed sword. I gotta ask, AD, did you get jobs like that, or were you lucky just getting to beat up Hulda or Danicka or someone? |

Neil.. there is another way to get to the wizard than falling into the watery cage.. errr no spoilers, but look in all the nook's and cranies... pull a few levers... etc... AD... OH.. well bummer.. I know I can't use all the scripted mod's I want.. but AFT is a must for me, as I almost always have followers... and followers without it.. suck. |
