Swatter, Swatter, Swatter, ............get your genuine Swatter here

whats a Swatter?

Ha ha, a rookie, eh? A Swatter, my friend, is a Diamond City tradition.
See it used to be that this whole place was a stadium. And two teams would meet and play a game called baseball.
One team would beat the other team to death with things called Baseball Bats, and the best bats were called Swatters. True fact.
Anyway, I was talking baseball here. And you can't have a ball game without a Swatter.
Well, believe it or don't believe it, you'll be convinced once you swing a Swatter in someone's face. How about you buy one today?
There was the Diamond City Demolishers. Big brutes of guys. Played in full Power Armor with special pneumatic arms parts for swinging.
Then you had the Lexington Ladies. An all female team, with coach Bloody Mary Sue at the helm. Highest kill count in the league.
I could spend all day talking about the Concord Crushers or the Quincy Killmeisters, but you get the idea. It was a hell of a sport.

Thank you to
Kane, Neil & Lapuaboy for joining up ..............

Just about to start Darcy #3 :O

Original Darcy was mauled at level 10 by a Raider attack dog at the supply depot south of Sunshine. My Dogmeat mod, which I've mentioned before and really makes Dogmeat a great companion, buffs up the enemies dogs too. So, after MOBs with nuke and missile launchers, attack dogs are next on my most deadly list (actually see below an addendum!). I don't recall having to deal with 3 attack dogs at the depot before, but have now, and of course the toughest lined me out while Dogmeat got the other two. At his level 14 there should have been a skull next to him the way it played out. So, I think next time I venture there I just might be in PA.

Okay, so Darcy 2 was same starting stats, but I went with Gunslinger. I like rifles at high levels, but it dawned on me that I probably won't be going to Far Harbor in the 80s ;) . I modded up the 10mm and a .38 pipe with scope and did okay. The head slammer was how she died. Deactivating (or rather trying to) the bottlecap mine at Starlight. Fastest countdown ever, but should have done what I usually do and just crack the door and stand back. Stupid stuff bites you hard in FO4.

I'm pondering any changes to #3...aside from playing smarter. I think she'll still be a Lone Wanderer Gunslinger. Darcy #4 might be different B-)

Lapuaboy... I am both sorry and happy to hear of your misfortunes. Sorry for your lost efforts, happy that I'm not alone in such difficulties! :)

My latest problem just happened moments ago. Level 7, I decided to go talk to Tenpines as per Garvey's request. On the way, I encountered the shitter (the guy who ate the bad meat) radroaches, and bloatflies. Nothing too difficult. After talking to Ms Tenpines, I decided to check the gorge and see what might be wandering down there.

Turned out it was four Supermutants, and one was Legendary. So, I killed two, the Legendary disappeared along with the suicide guy, but I'd ended up fighting them incomplete darkness. That meant I had a hell of a time hunting for bodies.

Anyway, headed back to Sanctualry, ran into two more bloatflies, and a set of Power Armor which I absconded with. Headed across the lake into Sanctualry, had to avoid mirelurks, got right to the edge of Sanctuary and instant CTD... I'm all the way back to the previous morning. :bang:

Yeah, the Federal Stockpile... I usually like to snipe them from the top of the hill, and yes, there are almost always two or three (it varies a little) attack dogs there who come after me... if they can find where the shooting is coming from.

I always like to take the time to study the camp through a scope before getting things started, and if I get the opportunity, the dogs are the first target I take out. I like dogs, but I really hate those particular dogs, eh? :)

Greetings Bram! It's good to have you here. :)

If I wasn't currently otherwise engaged....this could be amusing...since my direct experience of FO 4 got no further than helping mr Garvey and getting the first PA suit.

As a game rookie....all the fun stuff can happen with no preconceptions!

If only Adella's likeness could be constructed in the FO cc screen.....but I can't even find a body mod I like for her, let alone get her face right!

But I see she can at least enjoy a cigar (mod) now where is the Colovian Brandy? :D

I will look in....good luck all. Neil and Lappy...no more dying ok!

Roxie is slowly adjusting to life in the Commonwealth. So far, we've rescued Garvey and Co., but haven't gone anywhere else. She is level six, having just set up Sanctuary and finishing her own modest shack to live in. Next stop will be the Raiders under the nearby power lines.

I'll give it a shot. Literally just finished creating a new character for a Survival run....so I'll see far I can get with Roxie. :)
 that's the spirit

just watch out for the Bepp :scared: Bepp :scared: Bepps :scared: .........ohhh shit I'm going to die! :face:

you must post a picture of Roxie :)

PS..... wow survival mode  .......... this one is just a beginner so she needs all the tips she can get ^o)

Survival is nothing like Legendary mode. Rather than you being nerfed and your enemies doing 3x damage, you do 3x damage right along with them. Plus the need to eat, drink, and sleep add a nice needs touch - along with diseases. Need antibiotics for those.

Something is up with competitions. I mean I haven't had so much as a hiccup with FO4 and now when Orion tries to go near the Red Rocket near Sanctuary he falls through the world to his death. I mean WTF did Sheo invade the Fallout Verse or what?

I'll be checking cache, etc. and see if that doesn't fix it. As well as making sure graphics drivers are up-to-date.

Personally I think it may be the recent monthly update MS did that ducked things up in my Fallout pond!

I had something like that happen a while back. I was using the swinging rope bridge across the gorge, and just dropped right through it.

Also, I noticed a while back that the floor in the backstage room at Starlight has no collision when you try to place a bed on it. I had to sink a shack foundation under the floor to use the place more or less normally.

The rope bridge went back to normal and has stayed that way, but the floor at Starlight is still without collision when I'm in the workshop mode.

Well it isn't my installation. Cliff's savegame works just fine, but Orion's does not. Even from the beginning if I take Orion there he drops through, so it must've been baked in from the beginning.

Going to start a new character and see how it goes. Will post specs and all the OhFishAll blah blah at some point if the new character's game is stable.

By way of an update, Holly Wood Deux is now level 13, and ready to rock 'n roll. Not that she hasn't been busy up to now...

Holly cleared most of the bandit camps in the area of Sanctuary, ate three or four packs of mole rats, a couple of packs of feral dogs, and wiped out two supermutant patrols. She cleared Red Rocket and the Mole Rat Cave, then killed the Death Claw and rescued Garvey and company before going to Tenpines (after Garvey sent her there of course), and cleared Starlight Drive-in on her way back.

She has started building Starlight, but hasn't created a radio tower there. She's decided for now to only have one recruitment beacon (the one in Sanctuary) so she only has 3 settlers in Starlight.

Somehow, she has managed to get a disease every third day since her exit from the Vault, so she has had to go to Diamond City just to find a doctor. One of those diseases nearly killed her. It was an infection that did 20 points of damage about every 2 minutes until she got it cured.

Anyway, after visiting the doctor in Diamond City, she got into a free-for-all with some scavengers and a Mr Gutsy. There was only one survivor, so she didn't share loot with the scavengers. That meant she was loaded down with loot again, so she assaulted Hangman's Alley and now has a nice, quiet little base there with no settlers.

On her way back to Sanctuary, she removed quite a few mines around College Station, and ended up joining the BoS. Paladin Danse convinced her to help him out at Arcjet, and that jackass Knight Rhyse sent her to clear College Station. She hasn't been able to figure out why she doesn't just kill that guy and be done with it, and that's quite a puzzler... Holly thinks on it every time she's attacked by a pack of ghouls.

Holly has acquired two sets of Power armor, though the second one is missing an arm and a leg... She's pretty certain that the previous owner must have been trading with Trudy, eh? ;) She is going to collect a third set of armor that she has located, and she thinks it's complete. Oh, and of course Scribe haylen assigned her to retrieve an artifact from the Super Dooper Mart in Lexington, so she might collect some pieces of power armor from a Raider near there.

Not so much luck collecting books... Of course she has the "You're Special" and the Grognak from her old house, and has found one that gives her flame jobs for her Power Armor.

Power Armor isn't her style though, she's basically a stealth operative. She bought a suppressed 308 bolt-action from Trudy after she killed Wolfgang and Simone, and converted it into a silenced sniper rifle. Her favorite weapon is a hardened armor piercing .38 cal automatic rifle she has modded out with a long light barrel, drum magazine with 48 round capacity, marksman's stock, and just recently a silencer. Her backup weapon is a suppressed, hardened, armor piercing 10mm auto with a long barrel and an extended magazine. As soon as she can afford it she's headed for Bunker Hill to look at some specialty items.

So, I guess that about gets us up to date here. After she's finished Sooper Dooper, she's thinking of visiting Corvega for the Tenpines folks... :)

Wow, Holly has been busy!

Roxie is level 9 (I think), and slowly creeping towards Tenpines herself. Sanctuary and Tenpines are the only populated settlements she plans on having (I had my fill of the MM with my last character, Elizabeth). After finishing up with Sanctuary (sans a beacon) and polishing off the nearby Raiders, she cleared out the Ranger Cabin, and the Wicked Shipping Fleet Lock-up.

After that, she made her way back to Sanctuary to unload all the loot she can't resist picking up. Concord followed next, but the civic access and the buildings opened up by the Beantown Interiors mod filled up her bags once again.

Tenpines is next.

Alrighty then! I have made about a dozen new characters and not one of them has had any issues around RR or any other place in the game. If I load up any of Orion's save games he drops through the world around the RR near Sanctuary. So Orion has officially been deleted! Harumph!

That said, I'm going to use this competition to do a play through I've been meaning to do since FO4 first came out. This will be a very, very slow going play through as the goal is to get all stats to 10 BEFORE touching a bobble head.

Introducing Dhark Knight. Former Shadow Eagle. Special Sniper Unit during his service in the Armed Forces.

My OH FISH ALL application:

Name: Dhark Knight
Gender: Male
Difficulty: Normal
Faction: Minitemen

Due to prolonged exposure to the cold Dhark's otherwise high SPECIAL stats garnered from his years of training in the armed forces had degraded to what they are today leaving Vault 111. After all a little over 210 years in a freezer will do that!

Posted Image

Dhark has been putting in a hard days work at Sanctuary cleaning things up while exploring the ruined houses.

Posted Image

He is currently Level 2 with one perk point in Sneak.

Hey, I love that pip boy! That normally excessively ugly and cumbersome piece of hardware tends to upset me. I even had a mod that made it invisible, but then the screen went blank and just stayed that way...

Your pipboy looks pretty good on Dhark's arm, but I wonder how it'd look on a slender female arm...

Bram,

Good luck with Dhark! :thumb: I have done the wait on the bobbles on some of my chars, especially the ones I think I'll play to 80+. With Darcy I'm going to snag every one as soon as I can ;)

Darcy the Third is level 14, has Preston and crew at Sanctuary, and has Abernathy, Oberland and Sunshine to her name also. Helped Danse with ghouls and Arc Jet. We've experienced a couple of firsts as well: killed the Concord Deathclaw exclusively with a .38 pipe pistol, and found the Concord underground (which was a "why haven't I found this before" head slap).

Before my Skyrim obsession I played FO4 a lot. I didn't touch Preston and Co for probably the last 500 hours played. Now it all comes back. Level 14 and next mission is Somerville. Yeah, and while down there I'll clear out the vault next door, say hi at Gunners Plaza and finish the trip at Quincy. Piss off. Maybe in 10 levels (maybe) I might think about it.

I'm not sure of our next move. Might take up Danse's offer with the BOS. Maybe ease east/south east, working to the Railroad. May try the Federal stockpile again. Hmmm. I want more and better loot, but want to keep her cute butt alive too.

I love Skyrim, but I'm now rediscovering my love for FO4 as well.
