I've used it before to clean ITM's, but only watched Gopher's video on it just now. Never realized that if you have are having CTD's due to a conflict, it will tell you when you try to load TES5Edit!

yep one of the reason's I stopped using EtAC with Northern Encounters.. they conflicted in Dawnstar's outer Navmesh... then again many thing's do.. cause the it's a lot bigger than it should be.. or need's to be.

It's possible, but it extends's along the road almost to the fork. I think it was just an oversight thing and was meant to be cleaned up but never was.

It might just be something that each MA fixes if their mod has an issue.

I even had an armor mod conflict once..weird, but it was a new MA and she might have fiddled with the wrong thing somewhere.

A lot of that can be due to CK itself - even experienced MA's like ice have issues with CK opening and tweaking WAY too many things unnecessarily.

The CK still scares me. I managed to edit one thing successfully in Fallout 4 (just wanted to remove some ugly grass at a settlement), but haven't been back since.

Might tweak scimitar damage for late game.

Can you run the CK without getting mired in the CC since CK runs from the Beth Launcher?

Yes, in fact I suspect the CC does not use the CK, but a more internal-use-only variety of the tools. Maybe one with some of the bugs fixed!

xEdit is an awesome tool, probably my favorite tool to use across all TES games. I really wish it was available for Morrowind. The CK/CS are nice tools, and I am glad to have them and they can do things xEdit cannot, but the CK/CS are a pain in the arse to use, they crash all the time, they are finicky as hell, they won't handle masters properly unless you convert your esp to an esm (although thanks to shademe, the Oblivion CS can now handle masters properly with the CS extender, my other favorite modding tool), and like everything Bethesda they are as buggy as a warm mountain lake in summertime. In contrast, xEdit works like a dream.

In case anyone new to xEdit wants to start getting into some of its more powerful features, I would recommend fadingsignals xEdit tutorial vidoes. He has three of them and they are awesome in explaining to new modders how to use xEdit to make basic edits and patches.

I guess what I meant was can you run the Launcher, which is what you have to use to open up the CK, without the Launcher itself starting to download crap for the Creation Club.

Or is there a way to run the CK without using Beth's Launcher?

Um. I had a shortcut to the SSE CK executable on my taskbar; clicking on it from there didn't access the Launcher. Of course that was before the CC stupidity.

I am sticking with SLE for the time being. I had planned on tinkering with SSE once SKSE64 and SkyUI got up and running, but now I think I will wait another year at least for all the CC stuff to calm down before diving into SSE. I prefer modding mature games anyway rather than modding games where everything is in constant flux.

Launching the CK does not download any CC content (or even patch your game, as far as I'm aware). And for Skyrim, no CC content come down until you request it. They don't have to pretend it's part of the base game there to avoid Sony/MS restrictions on what can be in a mod.

I'm still working on SE ports of my LE stuff where applicable. I'm not sure that SKSE64 is done yet, but the current build supports my Hulk Out! well enough, so that may get released soon.

I feel like I'm finally putting on the big boy pants when it comes to modding. Thought OBIS was causing me CTD near Ivarstead, since it's the only modded added since I started with Kirin. Turns out that Dragonborn Delayed was the actual cause, which I learned once again from TES5Edit.

Made sense, considering I had just come down from High Hrothgar, and it should have been Cultist time.
