I hope that Conjuration can be one of the skills. Because summoning you-know-whats. :) |

No Sere not in Sheo's world it IS a murder of clowns *wink wink* now there's some Friday the 13th magic! The quote below was at the top of the page just now when I posted this comment: Something has to work. Once, I dug a pit and filled it with clouds. Or was it clowns? Doesn't matter. It didn't slow him down. To be honest, it wasn't the best idea. And it really began to smell. Must have been clowns. Clouds don't smell bad. They taste of butter! And tears. -Sheogorath Edited by Brambleberry, Oct 13 2017, 11:50 PM.

Glargg it's up for debate at the moment.. and I would like to choose my own skills.. It's much more fun to start a 2nd time, if you can tweak the skills a bit as you realize that something didn't work. |

I also prefer picking my own skills. If we did a random drawing and turned up mostly magic, I wouldn't stand a chance on expert. |

If we all agree I would like to see 6 picks, plus the two ( speech & lockpicking) freebies. This give's much greater variety. ie... 1) Heavy or light armor 2) 1h weapon of choice 3) block 4) smithing 5) archery 6) sneak This is a very viable character on Expert at higher level's.. 1) Alteration 2) Destruction 3) Conjuration 4) Illusion 5) Enchanting 6) ?? ( I'd still pick sneak) Viable mage, without a mod, destruction is problematical at higher level's, but it does actually work. ( and I would either use Grimoire with ASIS or not do a mage.. ASIS allow's the enemy NPC's to use the same spells.. ie my character has no advantage over NPC's.) |

I agree Kane picking one's own 6 makes the character one's own in my mind. Areial would these be your 6 pic types or were you saying everyone would play one or the other. I am still sleepy (long night with the mum). |

Oh no Bram, those were just example's to show how they would work. For Myself.. probably something like: 1) 2h 2) Light 3) Archery 4) Conjuration 5) Sneak 6) Smithing Not sure if I will Role A'Darien for that or a Female.. cause Fem's Rock the Savior's Hide.. males.. not so much and even most of the re-tex's use the same V neck top..<shudder> and skirt.. Seriously WHY has no one said... Ummm vest.. and pants..with a wolf head belt.. cause that would rock! |

The Savior's Hide has had the same general form since Morrowind. Of course it was a cuirass in those earlier games, so could be combined with any greaves. I think I'd go with something like... 2Handed Conjuration Archery Alteration Illusion Sneak ...and use bound weapons, which are actually bound summoned daedra. With Volendrung as a backup. |

Thought I'd provide some more links, etc. to reference when the official comp thread gets started. What's here plus Kane's list previously. There's probably more out there so chime in with stuff even if it's duplicate that way we'll have a more comprehensive view of the scope of the competition which should help us decide just how much time we may need to feasibly complete it. :D Here's the link to the Daedric Quests in UESP. The page pic is under the spoiler, but links do not work as it is just a screen capture. Spoiler: click to toggle Black Book Stuff Spoiler: click to toggle

How about an Oct. 28th start date? Gives us about 2 weeks, and it's a Saturday. |

Specific mod question, which I believe we dealt with in a past event, but I dis-remember... I think many (most?) of us have an alternate start mod. Is it allowed, and if so, which starts are forbidden? I'm willing to go back to a Helgen start, but it seems to me that there's nothing about this round that requires an immediate Main Quest start. |

Vague recollection was no starts that have you better off than vanilla...I.e steel plate armour, houses, money, etc |

That sounds about right. That means you could do Left for Dead, any of the Inn starts, the "minor faction" starts (Bandit, Forsworn, etc.), but not the Blackreach start or any of the major faction starts, which give you a "head start" or better equipment. |

Oct 28 start works for me. Being a little rusty after my FO4 binge, my tester last night reminded me of certain facts. My "semi change of pace" build I sketched up was actually a 7+2 build and not a 6+2, so adjustments were made on the fly :$ I want to build Lakeview (at least) and forgot about the Smithing required! Alchemy stays, Enchanting gets canned in favor of Smithing. So Dulcet is now level 7, the proud owner of Lakeview and is smack in the middle of the Conjuring Archer mage I envisioned and becoming an underpowered cookie cutter Stealth Archer version of my Dwemer girl. Sigh. |

Time is getting chewed up rather easily in preparing for Daedric Quests. I am personally leaning toward a 60 hour time frame with 50 hours being the lowest I think we can get most of this done. Vamps are much more of a PITA on Expert. ;) And a lot will depend on luck of finding items which can chew up lots of hunting down time. What does all y'all think? |

Question of semantics....the items that vampires can be sent after (rings and amulets) have lore (according to ingame quest giver) suggesting they may have been powerful gifts from Molag Bal to ancient vampire lords of great power....though they may also have been creations of gifted enchanters. Would we count these? Baring in mind that many of the "Daedric" artifacts have origins within Mundus (spellbreaker/volendrung) |

60 hrs sound about right to me...to much and it isn't a challenge, to little and it's suicide. |
